“Liam can’t find out about what?” Liam asked, entering the room with soft steps. His eyes looked calm, as if he’d heard their entire conversation and now needed them to say it to his face. William and Simon uncomfortably looked away. Jessie took a step forward, ready to catch the man in case he fell.
“Jasper left. But I’ll go and find him right now,” Jessie said, coming forward but Liam took a step back, maintaining a distance.
“I doubt you’ll find Jasper if he doesn’t want to be found,” Liam responded. “Go and search his office, maybe he left something behind and try calling him. If these don’t work, we will wait until the wedding needs to be cancelled.”
Liam turned around and left. There were no tears, no drama, just practical coldness that his friends never witnessed before.
William moved first, wiping his tears. “I’m gonna go to his office, you try contacting him,” he ordered.
