Bella's POV:-
The cookies were now ready to eat. I served them on the dining table and decided to call them downstairs. Both Lily and Austin must have woken up by now.
Just about time they both came down after a small power nap.
"Sis, the cookies are so yummy. They are the best cookies in the world." Said Lily praising me with her mouthful.
"First finish the cookies and then talk," I told her not so harshly.
"Alex, do you want some?" I asked Alex knowing that he would probably refuse.
"No, thanks, sweetheart. I don't like sweets." he shrugged. As I already knew.
"Oh, okay. Then should I make something else? You must be hungry too." I asked being concerned about him.
" I had snacks before you came. I am not hungry anymore," he answered and I looked at the kids asking if he was telling me the truth. The kids nodded together, letting me know that he was telling me the truth.
"Okay. Now I will keep the cookies in a jar and go to do the dishes. Alex, keep an eye on them." I told him before heading towards the kitchen.
"Yes, ma'am." he joked.
--------------------
After some time, Alex came walking and stood next to me, stealing a cookie from the jar. I saw what he was doing but kept pretending that I didn't see anything. I saw him steal three more. I guessed he liked them. Then why lie to me?
"The kids are watching How to Train Your Dragon 2. We can have a little break, you know," said Alex teasingly.
"Okay, so what do you want to do in this break?" I asked him tiredly. I was exhausted by running along with Lily, Austin and Iris.
" We can play chess. You know how to play, right?" he asked taunting me.
" Of course I do."I lied. And that was my mistake.
------------------------
"I thought you said you knew how to play chess." he was teasing me.
We were playing for the 7th time now. And I have not won even a single time. He is smart. So hence proved I am dumb.
"Come on, if you win this time then I will do whatever you tell me to. And if I win then you have to do whatever I say." he proposed confidently.
"That's not fair. You are so good in this game." I huffed.
"Well, it's your fault. You said you knew how to play," he responded with that stupid smirk on his face.
"I said I knew how to play but I never said I played before or I play like a professional." and tried to convince him and he simply ignored my sentence.
Argh!! I hate him!!!
"Checkmate!! I won again" he announced smirking.
"Okay. So what do you want me to do?" I asked accepting that I had lost to him.
"Not now. I will tell you when it's the right time." he was testing me.
He opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by the ringing of his phone.
" I have to receive the phone. Sorry," he informed and left to talk on the balcony.
------------
It's been a whole 20 minutes since Alex left. But haven't returned yet. While talking he left the house and now I know nothing about where he is. I don't know why but I couldn't help but get worried about him.
I decided to go and check for him. I froze on the spot as I saw Alex talking with someone on the phone as he entered the living hall. He looked very frustrated and angry. I have never seen him this angry before. He kept running his hand through his hair trying to keep himself calm. I couldn't hear what exactly he was talking but it looked like he was ready to kill the person on the phone. He was yelling at the person. Now I feel bad for the person on the other end of the phone. I walked to him. I know he was angry but I know he won't hurt me.
As soon he noticed me staring at him, he hung up the phone and sprinted out of the house. Fuming with anger. Huh? Now what does this mean? We were chatting nicely like what thirty minutes ago and now he is just trying to ignore me. And my presence? Is he bipolar or what? No, I do not think so.
No Bells, something must have happened for him to react like this.
But what exactly happened?
I must go and ask him myself.
