I Level Up?

The tavern finally closed for the day so we began to clean for tomorrow morning after I waved them goodbye. I proceeded to walk for a while and arrived at my inn. I greeted the innkeeper.

"Good evening, Mia-san."

"Good evening to you, Haruki. If you're hungry, food is ready!"

"Is the bathhouse available?"

"Of course."

"I see, thank you."

I made my way back to my room, put down the book Gus gave me this morning, and picked up a towel from the closet. After descending downstairs, I headed to the bathhouse.

I entered the bathhouse, stripped my clothes, and put them down in the basket. 'But before that, this bathhouse is similar to the bathhouses in Japan.'

Ten minutes later, I finished bathing, opened the door, and picked up the towel to dry myself. After drying, I put on my clothes and returned to the inn to eat.

"Mia-san, what's for dinner today?"

"I tried making the recipe you gave me the other day, one-pot chicken and rice!"

Mia-san placed the dish on my table and the utensils. 'Sometimes eating someone's dish isn't bad; it's refreshing because you don't know whether the dish is good or bad.'

"I'm full," I said, holding my stomach.

"So, how was it?"

"It's delicious."

"Thank you."

"Then, Mia-san, I'm going to bed now." With that, I ascended the stairs back to my room. After returning, I sat on the bed to check my stats.

"Status open," I chanted, and a system window popped up.

"What the hell!? I leveled up!? When!? How!? And what's up with this title, 'The One Who Cook'?" I clicked the title, and a description popped up.

**The One Who Cook:** Through unparalleled culinary intuition, as long as you perceive something or someone as an ingredient, you wield the extraordinary ability to seamlessly blend flavors, textures, and essence. This enables you to not only cut and craft delectable meals but also imbue them with mystical properties. The resulting dishes grant temporary enhancements, ranging from heightened physical prowess to enhanced cognitive abilities, to those who partake in your culinary creations. Additionally, your culinary prowess extends beyond traditional ingredients, allowing you to derive extraordinary benefits from seemingly unconventional sources. This overpowered culinary mastery transforms ordinary encounters into epicurean adventures, shaping the very fabric of reality through the artistry of your cooking.

"Wow, this title is overpowered as hell!" I was flabbergasted by how ridiculous my title description is.

"What's with my class, chef huh?" I clicked the chef.

**Chef:** This class enhances the flavors of your dishes by five times; your reactions and movements are instantaneous while you're in the kitchen.

"Hmm, this is so useful for me because I'm the cook, and the kitchen is always busy. But with this, I can multitask."

"I wonder what is sealed in my attribute and title." I clicked it, but it said, "You do not meet the requirements to unseal this yet," and it's also the same with my attribute. 'I wonder what the requirements are?'

"How did I level up when I didn't slay any monsters? Maybe slaying monsters isn't the only way to level up, or is this a bug in the system."

"Worrying isn't going to do much."

"Time to read this, I guess." I picked up the book Gus handed me this morning and opened it.

Fifty years ago, a catastrophe struck the world, destroying half of the continent in the east. From this event, new races were introduced to this world: dwarfs, elves, demons, dragons, angels, demihumans, spirits, and lastly, monsters. While most races love peace, monsters are only driven by instincts to destroy everything in sight. Due to this, they attack all races with no exceptions, forcing all races to fight back. However, the monsters have ridiculous numbers and powers, overwhelming all the races and forcing them to retreat to the west continent.

After their retreat, they discovered that the monsters have abilities they use for most of their battles: adaption, absorption, unlimited stamina, and fast breeding. The monsters conquered the east continent, and most races lost half of their population during the invasion. In desperation, they kept finding ways to stop the monsters' rampage. The first method they found is using sealing magic on the entire east continent, but the problem is the monsters' adaption because it also adapts to magic. So sealing them can only buy time, not stop them, and the sealing magic needs to be maintained with magic power.

After searching for so long, they found a scroll that allows them to summon beings from another world. So all the races united and used their remaining power to summon these beings. After continuously performing the ritual for 30 days, they were able to summon two otherworlders, a pair of a boy and a girl. All the representatives present that time got to their knees and begged the otherworlders to save them. The otherworlders decided to help them but asserted their conditions to all the races, and all accepted it. Days passed, and they learned about the system that the otherworlders had, allowing them to grow without any limitation. With this revelation, they decided to teach them everything from magic and combat styles from each race. This allowed the two otherworlders to become even stronger.

Finally, after a month, it was time for their final battle. They immediately rushed to the monsters to fight, and a lot of lives were lost during this, but they finally vanquished the monsters from this world after two years of non-stop fighting. With this victory, they returned to their home to rebuild what was lost during this war.

Ten years after the war, the races had recovered, and the two otherworlders built the kingdom called Atlantis. With the birth of this kingdom, they invented some items, technologies, and even the principles of the other world were adopted here.

I closed the book after reading it and thought, 'I see this is how things like frying pans, magic stoves, and bathhouses came to be.'

"I have a lot of questions, like who are the two otherworlders that saved this world?"

"Because the author of the book didn't write the names of the heroes."

"It also says that the system allows us otherworlders to grow infinitely. Does that mean the people of this world have a level cap placed on them the moment they were born? Then who is giving the otherworlders the system? Is it the gods of this world or the gods on Earth?"

After thinking a lot, I'm getting a headache. With that, I put the book on the desk and lay down on my bed, then I fell asleep.

"Where am I?" I was suddenly in front of a giant tree 'is this a lucid dream where you can control your dream' I thought to myself.

While I was thinking when a grotesque creature suddenly attacks good thing I was able to dodge after dodging I run 'how I defeat that, wait a minute this my dream I can whatever I want' I stop running and face the creature.

I put my hand in front of me then chant "disappear from my dream!!" with the creature got reduced into nothing.

"Yes it work"

After killing the one creature his kin rush at but I wasn't panicking because thus is my dream I chant "disappear!!" with that I killed a thousand of them but there were still more, I smiled "If you guys want die that much I'll grant your wish" while I was asleep my stats continue to increase without me knowing.

"This is a dream right so there is no problem that I'm killing these grotesques"
