Unexpected Triumph

"What...I..." Professor McGonagall gasped upon seeing the troll and all the snakes.

"Uh Professor, me and Angela summoned these snakes, perhaps we could deal with them first." Harry suggested.

"Filius, Severus, can you two please begin banishing these snakes?" Professor McGonagall asked, the two Professor's nodded and quickly began getting rid of the snakes. "Now while they are dealing with that, you two can begin explaining what exactly has happened here!"

"Professor, me and Mr Potter were practicing spells, once we finished we had begun walking back to the Slytherin common room when we stumbled upon the troll." Angela said as she gestured back to the troll. "I quickly threw a stunner to distract it before I blindfolded it. I was going to decide on my next spell when Harry had quickly hit it in the face with an 'Incendio', on the blindfold."

"On the blindfold?" Professor McGonagall repeated.

"I set the blindfold on fire." Harry answered, causing Professor McGonagall to blink at him. Professor Snape and Flitwick, who had come back after dealing with the snakes, raised an eyebrow each while Professor Quirrell shivered and took a step away from the troll.

"Why would you do that?" She asked.

"It was trying to attack us," Harry reminded her. "anyway the flames from the blindfold were hurting it and kept it distracted. I then used the Serpensortia spell to bring some more snakes. Angela did the same and managed to hit it with another fire blast in-between summoning snakes. The snakes all attacked the troll, then me and her hit its club with a knockback jinx, causing it to slam into the troll's face."

"It's true ma'am," One nearby portrait said. "I saw the whole thing."

"An impressive story," Snape drawled as he looked down at Harry. "but there are still questions that need to be answered, for example why were you not at the Halloween feast with all of the other students?"

"I didn't attend because I wanted to keep Mr Potter company," Angela responded. "and Harry didn't want to come because..."

"Let me guess, too good to attend like the rest of them?" Snape snarked, still looking at Harry.

"Severus!" Professor McGonagall admonished. Harry didn't immediately respond, he instead took several deep breaths.

"Well, Professor Snape," Harry said as he looked at Snape, Jet was on his shoulders and hissing warningly at Snape. "I didn't feel like celebrating the anniversary of my parents death by eating sweets and partying in the great hall." Harry said in a voice that could best be described as 'forcibly polite'. Snape blinked for a second, an odd look came over his face before he took a step away from Harry and his usual sneer was in place.

"Well," Professor McGonagall began. "if you were at the feast then you would have heard the warning about the troll, however despite that you will not be in trouble as it was not mandatory to attend. Ten points to each of you, not many students can claim to have fought a fully grown mountain troll and live to tell the tail."

"I would like to award an additional ten to Miss Zabini, and fifteen to Mr Potter for the advanced spells they used," Professor Flitwick added. "a stunning spell for a third year is impressive, a fire making spell and a snake summoning is also very impressive for a first year."

"Indeed," Professor McGonagall nodded. "you two may go back to your common rooms. Professor Quirrell will escort you both there."

"Thank you Professor." Harry and Angela said before they followed Professor Quirrell to the Slytherin common room.

"A...a...an impressive victory..." Professor Quirrell spoke in his usual stutter as they walked towards the common room. "E...especially for two s...students so y...young."

"Thank you Professor." Angela nodded.

"Yeah, thank you." Harry nodded.

"You...you are both welcome." Professor Quirrell nodded, the rest of the journey to the common room was done in complete but very awkward silence. "Good...goodbye." Professor Quirrell said once they had reached the common room.

"What are we going to tell the others?" Harry asked Angela as they stood outside the entrance.

"The truth," Angela shrugged. "the smarter ones will just ask the teachers and portraits anyway." Angela said before turning to the entrance. "Pit viper." She said, giving the entrance password. The entrance opened and the two walked in, only to see all of the Slytherin's looking at them.

"Oh for fuck sakes." Harry said under his breath

"When you tell them about how you killed your uncle, remember to mention how I bit his neck." Jet whispered.

"You do realize that wasn't really Uncle Vernon?" Harry whispered bac.

"Was it not?!" Jet asked, sounding very surprised.

"No, Uncle Vernon's much more uglier." Harry reminded him.

"Well, how would I know?" Jet replied. "They both had big bellies and they smelled awful, might as well have been twins. Most humans look the same anyway."

"Yes, yes I know, you don't care much for people." Harry said while rolling his eyes.

"Yes I do," Jet replied in an offended voice. "I care for you, my pet and all of my non-you and non-pets equally."
