Chapter -23.
A cold glint sparked in Lester's eyes as he felt a wave of anger toward the arrogant pureblood.
He stepped forward slowly, confident in his top-tier invisibility spell, which ensured no one noticed his approach.
The cocky pureblood was still rambling on, pointing at the middle-aged wizard and hurling insults left and right.
"You Muggle-borns don't have any place in the wizarding world. I can't believe the Hogwarts founders thought it wise to let people like you learn magic."
His comments grew increasingly outrageous, outright stating that Muggle-born wizards didn't deserve a place in the magical realm.
These harsh words washed over the middle-aged man like a wave of despair.
Did he even appreciate the wizarding world?
If he had known it had deteriorated to such a state, he would have steered clear of this rotten society.
From his lofty perch, the pureblood gazed down as though everyone else were mere ants.
Even if Muggle-born wizards showed great strength, in the eyes of purebloods, they were just fodder to be used.
Just like him, a colleague who had spent countless years in the wretched confines of Azkaban!
He had devoted his entire life to the magical realm, yet now... it wouldn't even accept him!
Slowly, a dark cloud enveloped the man's thoughts.
"For those purebloods who think they're better than everyone else?"
"What real advantages do purebloods have, aside from the legacy of their vicious ancestors?"
"Must Muggle-borns lead lives of menial status in the wizarding world?"
His gaze grew increasingly desolate, and his heart grew cold.
He longed for vengeance! He wanted to strike back against this decaying society; he wished for the entire wizarding world to acknowledge the power of Muggle-born wizards.
With this resolve, his eyes hardened, and his hand moved slowly to the wand at his side.
....
As Lester got closer to the robed pureblood, ready to teach him a lesson, he noticed a significant change in the man's expression.
Instinctively, he slowed his approach.
Perhaps he didn't need to intervene just yet; the middle-aged man seemed ready to unleash his frustrations.
No longer suffering in silence, but building up to a powerful eruption.
After a brief moment of quiet, the middle-aged man's gaze grew fierce, and he suddenly drew his wand.
"EXPELLIARMUS!"
In an instant, a flash of red light filled the hall, and his strong voice boomed throughout the office.
"You mudblood, how dare you?!"
The pureblood's eyes flickered with fear at the unexpected aggression from the mid-aged man.
He never anticipated that this "lowly mudblood" would dare to confront him, especially not in the office!
Caught off guard, the robed pureblood hesitated as the disarming spell hurtled toward him.
As he tried to sidestep it, he quickly realized that dodging a high-speed spell at such a close distance was a fantasy unless you were top-tier like Voldemort or Dumbledore.
Just as he shouted in panic, the red light of the disarming spell struck him with full force.
With a scream, the robed young man was sent flying.
Despite the rampant corruption among the magical elite, magic itself retained its wonder.
The disarming spell slammed the young man into the internal wall of the office building, sending him crashing to the ground.
The impact left a dent in the wall and caused debris to rain down, leaving him a bit wild-looking.
He was first knocked back by the spell and then battered against the wall, causing him real pain.
And let's face it—nobody could shrug off a hit like that!
While the pain was overwhelming, the humiliation that followed was even worse.
A noble pureblood, taken by surprise and attacked by a "lowly mudblood"!
"Mudblood, you have no idea what kind of mistake you've made!"
Struggling to rise, the pureblood brushed himself off, his eyes blazing with hatred.
"You'll regret this for the rest of your life! You'll live in fear until the day you die."
"Oh, and about your Muggle wife and kids? That's just perfect. Don't worry, I'll take good care of your wife after you're gone, and as for your child, he'll need to prove his value."
His face twisted in rage, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, he looked like a rabid dog.
As the man seethed at his words, a cruel glint flickered in the pureblood's eyes.
"Avada Kedavra!"
These words weren't merely meant to provoke the middle-aged Auror; they were a calculated distraction to give the pureblood the chance to strike.
Sure enough, the enraged Auror never saw this attack coming.
Not only did the pureblood resort to one of the three Unforgivable Curses, which the Ministry of Magic strictly forbidden, but he also acted in a cowardly manner.
The irony! Pureblood wizards had enforced rules against the use of Unforgivable Curses, yet they excelled at casting them.
Suddenly, a green light emitting an aura of death appeared.
It was eerie, deadly, and unavoidable!
"Killing Curse!!!"
Both the middle-aged Auror and the other two guards could hardly believe their eyes at the sight of the pureblood so boldly casting the Killing Curse.
This was a crime punishable by being labeled a dark wizard and sent to Azkaban if caught.
And yet, this young pureblood dared to break the law so brazenly.
Meanwhile, it was all new to Lester; he had never seen an Unforgivable Curse before.
As that green light materialized, a wave of dark energy washed over him.
He never expected such recklessness from this pureblood.
Not only was he using the forbidden Killing Curse, but he was also launching a sneak attack in the process.
As the murderous curse sped toward the middle-aged Auror, he closed his eyes, resigned to his fate as he awaited impact.
Lester shook his head in disbelief; it was clear it was time for him to step in!
"Protego Diabolica!"
In an instant, a ball of blue fire erupted in the hall of the Auror's office.
The fearsome flames spread like wildfire, the heat palpable as the sinister aura filled the space.
