Trouble Ahead

"Where to first?" Riyori asks while standing in front of me.

"I'd like to check out the guild if it's still around." I respond while looking around.

The Kingdom was as nice as I remembered, people everywhere and shops as far as the eye could see. The buildings definitely looked a lot nicer than back home but I do remember them being more into the architecture side of things.

"I see the guild building up ahead." Miza Says while pointing at the building.

"Thats the place to head into then." I reply while walking towards the front door.

I walked inside with my companions but the place was almost entirely empty except for the lady behind the counter. She should have some answers for me so I can understand what's going on around here.

"Where is everyone?" I ask politely while leaning over the counter.

"Lots of our members have been sent out to deal with this group that's been trying to attack the kingdom." She responds.

It seems that this is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, maybe I should investigate this group as well.

"We do have quests but they are all related to the same issue at hand." She says while looking at the papers.

I'm not a part of any of the guilds so I'm sure that would be a whole process to deal with as well. I think it'll just be better off to check this issue at since it could effect everything I need for right now.

"I'm going. Thank you for the information." I say kindly before heading for the door.

It's been quite a journey so far and I haven't even been away that long just yet. I think it's starting to get more and more interesting the more we travel throughout the lands.

"Why don't you guys stay in the inn here, I'll check out the issue at hand." I suggest to the group.

"Can I come with?" Miza questions while the others stand by her side.

"If you like, but I'd prefer everyone else to stay here for the time being." I say while pulling out my pouch.

I gave them a good amount of money to last them for a few days since I need to keep them safe as well. This will be the best way to protect them from any incoming attacks since they'll be within the walls.

"Just be careful Kenji." Izza says with a caring tone.

I said my goodbyes and continued out the kingdom with Miza since this was the best option for the moment. This group could definitely be an issue depending on what the cause is that they're fighting for.

It must be bad though, especially if the guild is also involved with resolving the issue at hand. A couple of hours went by as we explored the outskirts of the Kingdom in search of where this group could be.

"There's something up ahead." Miza speaks up.

I looked forward to see that some sort of camp was up ahead but it seemed like there were quite a bit of people hiding out there. We're definitely in for some trouble if this is the group that is causing all the issues.

So I used a bit of speed magic to rush ahead of Miza, this was the smart play to go with. As I approached the camp I triggered something without realizing it in time.

Boom!!!!

A magic trap? No way.

I felt myself get sent back through a couple of trees before stopping, these guys are quite clever after all.

"We're under attack!" Someone shouts as they all begin to get up.

They definitely notice I'm here now so I'll have to act a bit faster.

I jumped back up and made my way towards them once more since it was going to be a me or them situation now. This will be a perfect opportunity to use more of my magic, especially since I haven't gotten to use much of it yet.

"Magic Barrier!" I shout while putting a barrier in front of Miza.

Boom!!!

I managed to block the incoming magic attack just in time but these guys were attacking her before she even did anything.

"You alright Miza?!?" I shout while running.

"I'm fine!" She shouts back.

It was time to attack myself now so this was going to be the next course of action. Channeling the magic into my hands I began to form fire in one and wind into the other one.

I immediately threw a fireball combined with wind towards the enemy, almost like a mini tornado made of fire.

Crash!!!! Booom!!!!

Watching as the attack landed perfectly against the enemies was a good sign that this magic would be enough to handle the issue so far. Until I heard someone whisper from behind me.

"Nice attack." A Soft voice said before a kick landed in my back.

"Gah!!" I let out in pain as I felt myself lift off the ground once more.

Flying through trees I could barely make out the person that had attacked me. It seems they must be with the same group.

I guess my attack didn't wipe all of them out so I'll have to deal with this person too now.

"Kenji!" Miza shouts while running towards me in the distance.

Luckily I'm okay. Their attack was just a bit stronger than I expected but it's nothing I can't handle.

Maybe it's time to try something different, something that I've barely tried to use since I've been afraid of what could happen.

I began to channel the magic that I've learned about from Lilly, dragon magic. It's not the same as using the power but can yield the same kind of results if I'm smart.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I felt a completely different feeling go into my right hand as a dark red flame began to emerge in my hand.

"Dragon Fireball!" I shout as I began to throw it towards the enemy.

The wind will work to enhance it's speed a bit more than if I had just thrown it myself.
