Guardian Alphas

Both Gael and Adrian are alphas. Born at the same era and for the same goal. Nature wants them together but will one alpha bow to another? They will fight, love, cultivate and grow stronger together as they build a family but will they build this family together or apart? It is a story of resilience and love. We laugh as we cheer them on. It's a boy love story like never told before.

55. Minotaurs

After lazing around in Aida's place for about three days, it was time for us to meet the king of Aska and then leave for my place. The place where I apparently came from.

It wasn't hard meeting the king because Aida was still the sitting queen. She had an all access authority to the palace and the old man was so happy to see us.

Looking at the king and the queen standing side by side, it wasn't hard to see where Adrian got his good looks from. (What really bugs me up-to today is how they put us in our parents' wombs in Zor. I think this is a question I will preserve for the oracle).

Where was I?...

Errr... Oh, sorry. Yes.

We dined with the king and stayed with him for a whole day and it was time for us to go back. He wanted us to stay for longer so that Adrian could meet his siblings but like his mother, he also didn't want the palace's drama.

He knew there was a lot of dog blood with the princes fighting for dominance and inheritance and he was happy just being himself.

The old man was thrilled to hear that he was gonna be a grandpa. He wanted us to stay till I gave birth but no, we had to go to Sugnam. Something tells me that this is something I had to do before giving birth.

After we left the palace, we went back to Aida's place then she portaled us to Sugnam.

Finally, I was about to see this place that made me. This place that held my history. This place that was part of the part of the galaxy where I was born and a few years back I had no idea that it existed.

We travelled forba while and this time we didn't land in a forest or desert. No, far from it. We landed in a place full of people. It looked like it was market day and everybody was looking at us.

These people neither looked like me or Adrian. We looked odd in a sea of such people. Adrian and I stood tall. Much taller than all of them.

They were, however, well built and storky and short. The tallest must have been five feet.

They looked like their bodies were made for hard wood. They all had caramel coloured hair (yeah, caramel. Not brunette) and some shone to almost a firery copper.

They didn't seem friendly and they all turned to look at us.

Adrian held my hand and stood on alert ready to attack or defend at any time.

"Relax. Let's not give ourselves away. Let's just see what they got first," I told him through our mind link and I felt him relax but he still held my hand tightly.

One man walked out from the crowd and he looked like a man of authority as everybody gave him way as he walked towards us.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asked as he checked us up and down.

I almost chuckled and I found it hard to keep a straight face because he was so short and stood at almost waist length of us two and he looked like a child addressing us. The only thing that gave him away was his mature face.

"My name is Adrian and this is Gael. We are on our way to the Griffins palace," Adrian said and the short man laughed.

"Hear that people? They are going to the Griffins palace. I wonder what they are doing amongst us Minotaurs then."

Everybody laughed with him as if they would be punished if they didn't.

I wasn't ready to deal with this shit and I was almost losing it. I was angry and easily irritable and I wanted rest. Badly.

I felt Adrian strengthen his hold on me as he talked to me to keep calm.

"Catch them and throw them in the dungeon until they are ready to tell us who sent them to spy on us!" He ordered and we were suddenly surrounded by twenty or so men of the same build and short stature.

Adrian held my hand tighter and then held one of the men and talked to him.

"Think of your happy place," he said in an enchanting voice that had the man confused and before anyone knew what was happening, we were standing on the banks of a river surrounded by sunflowers.

The place seemed so trangquil and I could understand why this was this man's happy place.

"Sorry I had to do that. We don't mean harm to your people and we didn't want to fight. We are just here looking for the palace. Nothing more," Adrian explained but the man didn't seem to be listening as he looked all around him. It was like he couldn't believe or understand how he got here from the market place.

We gave him time to adjust and after a while he seemed to have found his voice, "who or what are you? How were you able to do that?" He looked at us like we were deities.

"I can teleport and that's how I was able to get us here," Adrian explained.

"Wow! That's so cool! Ha! I wish I was able to do that," he said with an awe filled look that seemed to say that if we commanded him to jump into the raging waters, he would do so without a question.

"What powers do you have?" I asked out of curiosity because he seemed to think teleporting was dope.

"Oh, we Minotaurs have different types of powers. We are gifted with the gift of controlling the five elements.

You can call us animals of nature. Mine is fire and that makes me one of the strongest among my people.

Our powers work better when we transform unlike griffins and Chimeras who can control theirs even in their human forms.

What else can you do except do that...Uh... Um..." he couldn't seem to find the word.

"Teleporting," I finished for him because he seemed so naive.... and adorable.

"Yes. That. What else can you do? And you (that to me), what can you do?" He asked all excited and it was all so funny.

Strangely funny seeing a grown man act so innocent.

"Not much. Like you we don't have a lot of powers. So, where are we?" I asked to bring him back to us and the current situation.

"Oh, we are in the middle of the city. This place is hidden since not many people here have an affinity to water except those who can control it.

This is because my kind can't swim and so, I come to hide here when I'm down or when I want to get away from things. Not even my superior knows of this place," he said as he sat on a rock.

"You just said that you are a fire animal. How come then you have an affinity to water?" Adrian asked looking at the man suspiciously.

"Oh, Kiana, my wife is a water animal and she always brings me here when she wants to practice.

that is how I came to know about this place and she also taught me how to swim," he said with a bright smile while talking of his wife.

I used my powers to gather stones and make them to a seat and he looked jaw smacked. He was agape I think wondering how I did that but I talked before he could ask and changed the topic.

"Can you take us to the palace?" I asked and he seemed to think for a while.

"Mmmm, I have never really been to the palace but I can take you to the capital and from there you can find your way.

Is that okay? If I carry you in my form it will take us around two days and if we walk around a week," he said seeming regretful that he couldn't help more.

"That will be more than helpful. Thank you," Adrian said as we looked at each other.

Was this man dense or something? He seemed to have forgotten how we got here.

Anyway, it was a good start.
