An Extreme Approach.

Khedes continued to stand guard as Shura placed my head in her lap as she gently massaged my temples as I explained to her what I had been doing since she had been out and about dealing with the other Vampires of the Otihame Kingdom.

She was silent the entire time as she took everything in as it looked like she was thinking about her own input of the situation.

"Well one that was a reckless decision you made as you put both Sivath and yourself in a dangerous situation especially since Khedes seems to be unlike the normal Undead of this Otherworld." Shura bluntly replied with a sweet and gentle voice as she continued to massage my temples. "Plus you also lost yourself in one of your skills that caused you to harm Sivath while also placing yourself into a suicidal spot if you hadn't been able to defeat Khedes."

Shura stopped as she grabbed the sides of my face as she brought hers closer to mine as she kissed my forehead then placed hers against mine.

"Just what drove you to do something like that?"

I slowly opened my eyes as I gave Shura a kiss on her nose which seemed to surprise her before a smile formed on her face.

"Simple, I need strength. And now I need it more than ever since I made a promise to someone who has been waiting for me for a long time." I answered honestly as I waited for Shura's reaction.

Shura was quiet for a few seconds as she slowly raised her head from mine as she looked down with a serious look in her eyes.

"Is it for a woman?"

"Yes, her name is Vlada." I answered while looking Shura in the eyes as she continued to stare back at me.

"Have you slept with her?" Shura asked as the look in her eyes started to change slightly.

"Yes."

Again I answered as I looked directly into Shura's eyes as they started to drastically change to one of a predator as I felt one of her hands stop over my chest while the other hovered over the spot where she bit me.

Khedes didn't even turn around as there wasn't any ill intent as he continued to look out and make sure no one tried to disturb us.

"Tell me honestly, husband." Shura asked with a gentle smile on her face as she revealed her fangs. "Do you think I'll let you live because you have another woman or… do you no longer love me?"

My eyes went wide from Shura's line of questioning as I commanded Khedes to pierce my stomach.

Khedes didn't hesitate as he turned around and pierced my stomach with his bone sword as Shura's eyes started to widen in shock, fear, and worry as she started yelling at Khedes to pull his blade from my stomach to no avail as she tried to apply pressure to my wound.

"Why would you ever say something like that, Shura? Did you forget what I told you? I told you that-"

"How could I forget what you told me on that fateful day!" Shura yelled out with tears in her eyes as she looked into mine. "You told me that, the love you have for me, you will return til there is no longer a grave to fill! But how will you be able to keep your promise to Vlada or I if you die!"

Shura's tears fell from her face as she continued to try and stop the bleeding as she looked into my eyes.

"Please don't leave me, Bastion. I-I-I don't know what I'll do if I lose you because of my jealousy. I love you, please don't leave me."

I smiled weakly as I caressed Shura's cheek. "I'm not going to die, Shura. Nothing will be able to prevent me from keeping the promises that I have made to the ones that I care for and care for me. Even if Death showed up to take me I would bury it in my own garden. And I love you to Shura and if anything I took an extreme approach that honestly I didn't think all the way through."

Shura started to nod her head while smiling with tears in her eyes as I commanded Khedes to pull his blade out as my eyes went wide as I did my best to not let out a groan of pain as Shura let out a sigh of relief.

"I'll be able to stop the blood with my Blood Manipulation but I won't be able to close the wound unfortunately. I wasn't able to until Khedes removed his swords from you as it would have interfered with my skill." Shura explained as she started to manipulate my blood to stop the bleeding as I told Khedes to get a large stick as he tilted his head and started to walk off.

"Don't worry about the wound, I'll just sear it with fire for now." I answered weakly as I Shura turned to face me with a look of sadness. "I'll explain everything after the wound has been taken care of. I'll just be taking a longer time to recover so I can properly recover. Plus it'll probably take a week for me to recover enough to do some lite exercise while my system finally finishes upgrading since it'll be a month since Rose went to update."

Shura just nodded her head before she stopped as a look of confusion formed on her face as she gave me an odd look.

"What do you mean when your system finishes upgrading? You are able to upgrade your system, how?" Shura asked as Khedes returned with a log the size of my thigh.

I just nodded my head as I explained how Shura was able to upgrade her system while also telling her that the system was actually the King. I also tried to teach Khedes on how to create fire as he nodded his head and went to work.

The look on Shura's face when I told her that the system that everyone had was the King was serious as she started to frown before she let out a string of words I couldn't comprehend, but I presumed was cursing. The more she spoke the more angry she became until she started to lose slight control over her Blood Manipulation as she cursed at herself for losing control.

"So he's the reason why this damn system was so perverted. It tried to give me so many quests that involved sex, public displays, and putting myself in positions that I would never be in. But it has been quiet for a while and I've been thankful for that. Even my assistant has been silent, which is odd since he said he was assigned to help me yet he hasn't said anything for a week." Shura ranted as I smiled weakly.

I was about to respond when both Shura and I felt the temperature increase as Khedes was able to get the log to burn as he didn't hesitate and seared the wound on my stomach as I let out a painful groan as I clenched my teeth.
