"Lily" she said.

"Why were you in the forest?" curious, Manuel asked "Where are your parents?" looking tenderly on the little girl who was dirty.

A tear roll out her eyes then looking away, "They are gone". "Okay then come here" leaning her in his arms "Don't cry, it's okay dear, where are you from". At the sound of his question, Lily's heart now raced "From? I don't know, I can't remember" she said sounding afraid. "That's fine, you can stay here with you", surprised however she turned to the woman seated at the other side to find a look of approval and she did. They woman nodded with a smile "Are you sure?".

"Yes, we are and since we don't have a child of our own" they looked at her smiling "We could adopt you, with your permission that is?" Linda said placing her hand on hers. They all smiled.

"You can call us mother and father when you are comfortable with it " Manuel said looking to his wife now "Shall we show her to her room, you'll help her freshen up and I'll make something for her to eat ". Manuel left closing the door behind him, they chose a room next to theirs, well furnished. "Welcome to your new room and home my dear" Linda said with a smile. She got some clothes out of the ones she kept as memory of her childhood, gave them to Lily and she excused her so she could freshen up.

Linda helped her husband, Manuel to set the table for their newest member of the family. Their attention now drawn to the direction of Lily's room, they both awaited the little girl to immerse from the walls of the corridor leading to her room. Lily's little structure now visible to to the man and woman who where now her new parents per say, she appeared as graceful as always, elegant and charming with her eye slowly brimming to the reflection of light from the candles around the dinning room, her pale skin looking more like orange. They could see her looks even better as she is dirt free unlike when she came. The red dress she wore look beautiful on her, as Linda stared at the girl in front of her, she was reminded of her little self who considered the same dress to be her favorite. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize the tear that rolled down her eye with a sudden smile. "You look gorgeous, Lily. Come have a sit, I wasn't sure what you liked so I made porridge and I'm sure you'd love it" Manuel said breaking what seemed to be a forever silence. They all sat at the dining table together and ate in silence. 'How awkward is this very moment!' thought Manuel "Lily, would you like to come to the market with me tomorrow after you've rested? We could get you some new clothes, don't you think!", Lily looked him in the eyes and nodded a 'yes' she thought to herself ' I'd really like to know where I am '. " That's great dear, tomorrow it is, you should get some sleep now, come I'll tuck you in". They both headed to the room and Linda got up to clear the table.
