"How are you feeling now?" a guy asked Vivienne. She was lying in bed, not in critical condition, but she did have some fractures and broken ribs. Despite that, she managed to stay conscious and alive due to her spirit awakening.
"Yeah, I do feel kind of weak... I can't explain it exactly, but I want to get out of this bed already!" Vivienne said, her voice tense. The guy smiled slightly, his eyelids lowering, a certain warmth in his eyes.
"I was asking how you feel after protecting your brother," the guy continued, lowering his head. He flinched whenever a certain sound was heard. "I mean... you promised to change yourself!"
At that comment, Vivienne tilted her head downward, her lips downturned, her eyes moistening. "Norton... the truth is, Void is not going to forgive me... He'll never forgive me. In his worst time, he never said anything, nor did he discuss anything with his women. He has decided to stay away from..."
They were interrupted by the arrival of Samuel and Eliza. "How are you, Miss Vivienne?" Eliza asked, glancing at Samuel as he handed a bouquet to Vivienne.
"Look who's here! The Majesty Envoy Miss Eliza... and Revered Seer Samuel Tristella... brought me a bouquet! Aww..." Norton teased, pinching Vivienne, rendering her unable to speak much. That's when her eyes fell on the letter attached to the flowers.
She opened the letter, which read, "Get well soon! It's nothing compared to me, right?" There was no name, but Vivienne knew who had sent it.
"What's written in that letter, Vivienne?" Norton asked, noticing tears streaming down her face and a slight smile forming on her lips. The tears were of joy, a feeling of relief, as if the void between two siblings had been partially bridged.
"Nothing... it's nothing, just a pygmy boy writing his nonsense!" Vivienne said, letting out a bright chuckle while wiping her tears. There was a new light of hope flickering and glittering in her eyes. Eliza, Samuel, and Norton smiled at her response.
"Honestly, I can't reveal that we wrote this letter. Sir Middletown did try writing one, but in his anger, he just threw it away. Luckily, because I was secretly observing him, I took the letter with his scent and aroma on the tissues... hehe. Later, I printed it again to write this letter. In the end, the feelings are real... I know and believe that slowly, at its own pace, fate will heal the wounds in their relationship," Eliza thought to herself.
Meanwhile, let's check on the fiancées...
"Aoi, there are 60 duels submitted. Thirty candidates have paired, 18 of the duels will be held today, and 9 are still in negotiations. Only 3 duels are vacant..." Cassey reported, looking at the board where the duels and data were displayed. "If we register for the remaining three, which will be held tomorrow, we can finally—"
Before she could finish, Aoi interrupted, "But aren't all duels canceled because of the new council's formation?" Aoi bit her nails as she looked at the schedule on their board.
Arcane, worshipping her master Void's shrine filled with his pictures, spoke softly, "Master... I'm sorry... I'm really sorry... It seems we won't be able to meet you...!" Tears flowed like rain from her eyes. Seeing this, Cassey and Aoi also began to tear up.
"I want to meet Void soon..." Aoi murmured.
"Me too... I want to hug him tightly in my arms and stay like that for a whole day... no, a whole week... no! For eternity, hehe!" Cassey giggled, causing Aoi and Arcane to giggle as well.
It seemed they were having fun, but things weren't so simple. Let's check on some others...
"Aghhh! I have to meet Void!! Sit on his lap, take in his aroma..." Luna cried, throwing things around. "I want to meet him soon!!" Her hands gripped her arms tightly, her nails digging in as her eyes glowed, locked onto the M.V. where news about Void was being displayed.
Then there was Zoe, who recently entered Void's rank but, unfortunately, was quite frustrated because Void was undergoing body analysis. "No!!! After all this time I worked so hard to come back and reach out to him, and he's not here!!" Zoe, in Middletown's territory after hearing the news that Void wasn't there, was frustrated and tired all at once.
"I don't know what's wrong with the family either... I remember them being supportive and trying to be nice to me before, but now they've done a 180, even in the way they address Void!!"
"Their eyes, words, the way they speak about him, everything has changed..." Zoe said as she walked away with her bags. A smile formed on her lips. "But these fools are unaware of a very important thing..."
Let's leave her there and lastly meet the one who's been a question to the author himself... Opal Earlborrow, who once begged for her freedom, beat Aziel to a pulp, and is now working as part of the Verdant Legacy.
"Void Middletown, the man changing the script..." Opal sat on the desk in her cabin provided by the council, giggling while looking at Void's photo frame.
"Everything is going as planned... I've caught his attention, and he'll run his data and blame only one person: Aziel... because that's all he knows!" She rose from her chair and walked towards Void's large portrait, running her hands lightly over it.
"Ahh... Void, I want to hold you in my arms... cuddle with you in bed, feel your warmth!!" Her eyes glowed as she imagined it. Let's see what's cooking in Void's mind...
Things have taken weird twists. I've regained my mana capacity, and all of my internal wounds are healed. Recently, my body can regenerate completely, even the worst wounds. I don't know what happened after I passed out. Because of me, Lumi wasn't able to see what's happening outside either.
Moreover, the strength I have right now is double what it should be. Recent check-ups have found nothing unusual. From what I can recall, I know I drank milk, but I don't know what exactly it was... nor can I tell, as Alfrin said it would look weird and disturb my image...
I got a call from Zoe saying she wasn't allowed entry to Middletown's territory, and they were likely trying to hurt her. Maybe they're now aware that I lost half my strength, and since I haven't told Mother that I got my strength back, she'll be the only one to make a literal festival out of this occasion. Honestly, I just want to relax...
And have fun with my fiancées and get my mind stable again. I recently reached a point where I was questioning my resolve... I need a break to regain energy...
Fate is said to be written the day we open our eyes for the first time in life, but does that mean we are bound by it?
