Chapter 35

By the time I got home it was already dark outside, I entered into the living room, where I found no one. another empty feeling filled my chest, I wished to go back to those days when all I could hear when I entered home was the sound of mom cooking, and yelling for me to help. My dad watching the TV in the living, with my little brother beside him pigging out on any snack he could get his hands on. I always used to yell at him when he took my snacks, it annoyed me to no end. Now I'd give anything to see him sitting there again eating my food.

"Huuuuh" I took a long deep sigh, and headed up the stairs to my room. I dropped my stuff on the floor and collapsed on the bed, my mind wondered around aimlessly. I knew that I should get up, change, shower, and study. But all of that just seemed obsolete, pointless. I wonder if this empty and hopeless feeling would ever go away. If one day I would wake up, and find a drive, a desire to do things again.

"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!" My eyes flung open and I jumped up, I turned to find my alarm for school going off. I had fallen asleep, I spent the night on top of my bed and blankets. I don't even remember feeling tired, or falling asleep. I slid off the bed and turned off my alarm, "Guess its time to go."

I turned around and faced a mirror, to find myself looking in complete shambles. My hair was a mess, my eyes swollen, my uniform all messed up and wrinkled. God I look like a mess. I always have my alarm set for at least 45 minutes earlier then I need to actually leave, so I have time to get ready as slowly as I want. I guess I'll just shower and wear the spare uniform I saw in the closet.

I hurried to get ready for school, thankfully I was ready in about 30 minutes. I didn't look the greatest, but in full honesty I don't really care at the moment. I headed down the stairs to find Layla sitting on the couch texting on her phone, the house keeper had already made breakfast and packed our lunches. I walked over to the table to find a beautiful spread of pastries, mixed fruits, yogurts, sausages, and like five different ways of prepared eggs.

Normally I be thrilled to see so much food, but it only made me sick. I looked over a table of food, with no soul or love behind it. Many people would see this as just a variety spread. But what I see is food made by a team, mearly paid with money to cook. Having no knowledge of who would be eating it they made multipule things.

"Is something wrong miss?" I turned to find a maid, standing behind me. In her hands another plate of food.

"Who made all of this?" I enquired

"The cheifs did miss. Is there something your allergic too? I can let them know so they'll stop making it."

"No, I'm not allergic to anything. I'm just not hungry, I'll just take my lunch and head to school."

The maid didnt question me, not even a look of concern. She turned around walked to the kitchen grabbed a launch box, and came and handed it to me.

"Have a nice day miss. Will you be returning home after school today? Would you like any snacks ready when you return?" She asked with a stone cold face, that could chill a defrosted snow man back to life.

"I'll be back, but I wont need anything thanks." I replied as I took the lunch box.

"LETS GO, IM NOT WAITING FOR YOU!" Layla yelled from the elevator.

I turned to have found her ready to leave, with the driver holding the elevator door.

I ran quickly to catch them, and was off to start another day.
