"Ahhh, Tony! Harder!" Her words rang through my head, causing my anger to rage like a burning wildfire. The flashes of that night filled my memory; I watched as my fiancé scratched the back of my so-called brother while he pounded her out. I wanted to grab Tony up by his neck and choke him until his breath drained from his body. I wanted to watch the life fade from his eyes and hers. The face of an angel, but as two-faced as the devil. How could someone I've spent years with turn out to be a stranger, someone I could never trust?
"Charles... Charles!" Caliber's voice snapped me back to reality. We sat in the meeting room with the guys discussing our next job. "Are you even listening to me?" "Ye-yeah boss... I'm listening." "Get your head in the game." I stood and nodded at him as I stood by his side. "I'm here, boss... 100%" Hours later, we found ourselves outside a rival gang's warehouse. While other gangs handled the hard work like robbing banks, we stole from them. I pressed my back up against the left side of the door and looked over, eyeing Caliber on the right side.
"On my signal..." I nodded, and then my gaze fell to Tony as he stood behind Caliber. Our eyes locked, and he gave me an arrogant smile before nodding at me. Once upon a time, this man was my brother, someone I wouldn't hesitate to take a bullet for, but now I could shoot him myself. "Now!!" Once again, Caliber's voice snatched me away from my thoughts as he rushed into the warehouse, and I followed close behind him, letting our bullets fly.
One... Two... Three of our guys hit the ground; I ducked behind a counter, trying to shield myself as I waited for a reload and started firing my weapon again. After a while, the last shot was fired, and I stood up to find Caliber looking at me with a smile. A few of our men rushed the wounded guys out to the trucks to our medic. We kept a doctor in the gang because going to a hospital after a shootout would be too risky; we had to keep our heads down. Caliber, Tony, and I made our way up to a bolted room; Caliber looked at me, and without hesitation, I kicked the door down. The room was stacked with cash. Every corner had money wrapped in huge loading crates, even some all over the floor.
"Load it up, boys!" It took a few hours, but after we loaded everything into a moving truck, we all headed home to celebrate. I stood outside watching the prospects carry in everything, and I stepped in when there was just a little cash left. "I got the rest. Go grab yourself a beer." One of the younger boys, Addison, nodded at me before walking inside with everyone else. I checked to make sure I was alone before grabbing tons of cash and stuffing it inside Tony's storage on his motorcycle. I took the rest of the cash and carried it inside, stacking it with everything before joining the guys for drinks. I couldn't help but look over at Tony and just smirk without saying a word; tonight, I was getting rid of him.
"To another job gone well..." Caliber raised his shot in the air, and I grabbed one, following him. "Here, here!" "HERE, HERE!" Everyone raised their shots and bottles along with us, and we downed them, celebrating for hours. "Hey, Boss... Can I talk to you over here for a minute?" Caliber looked up at me and tossed his cards on the table before coming my way. "What's up?" "I didn't want to say anything in front of everyone, but I heard Tony talking to one of the prospects about hiding money in his bike for them to split." Caliber's expression ran cold as all the blood and joy had drained from his face; he was now pale. He walked over to Tony without another word, and I followed him.
"Aye, Tony? There something you want to tell me?" "What should I have to tell you?" Tony looked at him and then at me as he stood up from the sofa. "Tony, I'm giving you one chance to come clean about what you did. I'll ask again, do you have anything to tell me?" Tony was now glaring at Caliber and me; he hated being questioned like a child, but Caliber was more than ready to prove who was in charge. I watched as Caliber rushed outside. I followed then Tony along with the rest of his men. Once Tony realized what Caliber was doing, he tried running over. "Hey, man, leave my bike alone! I worked my ass off for that thing!" Without hesitation, I pulled my gun from my waist and aimed it between his eyes.
"Not another step, or I swear your brains will be splattered all over these rocks." Caliber eyed us before looking me in my eyes, I gave him a nod, and he opened the bin revealing all the cash. Without hesitation, I turned my gun and shot Tony in his calf. He fell to the ground grunting and holding his leg. "Caliber...Caliber, I swear I didn't put that money there." "Don't listen to him, Cali. He's a traitor." "Cali, I'm your brother..." I watched as Caliber grabbed the money out and walked over to where I was standing over Tony. "You're no brother of mine." Caliber walked inside as I bent down next to Tony.
"Next time you want to fuck someone's wife remember the consequences. I stood and kicked him in his face before nodding at the other guys as I walked back inside. I heard as they started kicking and beating on m ruthlessly. After a few minutes, the guys walked inside and nodded to Caliber. After a while, the sound of Tony's engine roared until he sped off, making it a distant memory. A smirk spread across my face as I couldn't contain my happiness. I had gotten rid of the son of a bitch.
