Unknown POV

I was busy sorting through the endless piles of documents that were on my desk when there were five consecutive urgent knocks on the door. "Come in." I permitted without stopping what I was doing.

"Sir, the little miss went missing." My trusted secretary slash bodyguard said, heaving. He seemed to have run quite a distance to reach here, and seeing that it was lunch time I would say he ran all the way from the dinner where he usually have his meals in, and most probably took the stairs instead of the elevator.

"What little miss?" I asked casually.

"The Knights' little miss." He answered.

I snapped my head up towards him from the papers in front of me. "What the hell? Is it one of us?" I asked him, suddenly alert.

"No, sir. The elders had nothing to do with it?" He said.

"Then who the hell would do such thing?" I asked myself. If the little miss went missing that means hell would break loose, the first person Rob would think of would be me or one of the elders. Her father would also think of me seeing that I'm his competitor and one of my most important clients just went to him. That would certainly make a good reason in his eyes for me to do it.

And that's not good, not by a long shot, especially at this time where we basically have nothing to hold onto. Adam Knights and Rob are not people we could handle ticking in our current situation. Hell, we can't even handle messing with one of them, let alone both of them at once. "Who was with her when she went missing?" I asked him.

"All of her bodyguards." He replied.

"What about Müller? Was he there too?" I asked, my tone urgent.

"That's where things get fishy." My secretary seemed hesitated.

"Why? What happened?"

"It's odd enough that the kidnappers took the car designated for the little girl instead of leaving it behind them seeing that it would most probably contain something to help the Knights locating it, but Müller disappeared along with her too." He explained.

"Müller disappeared!" I exclaimed. "I don't know about the other guards, but the Müller I know is not one to be kidnapped or let someone be kidnapped under his watch. Much less his young miss' little girl. Something is terribly wrong, and we have to find out what that is before it causes us trouble." I told him.

"What do you suggest we do, sir?"

"Do some digging for me, I want to know what Müller has been doing the last few years exactly, I want his every movement." I ordered.

"You think Müller orchestrated this whole thing?"

"I'm sure he did, but what I want to know is why. Did he turn his back on his young miss like he did to us for her or does he have other plans?" I said.

"Other plans?" My secretary questioned.

"Maybe he's using the little girl as his ticket back to the group, the elders would be supper joyful to have a leverage on A.L the Knights." I explained.

"But would he really risk having Adam as an enemy just to join us back?" He asked.

"Adam Knights is a powerful name in the business world but in our world he's a nobody, his power doesn't compare to the elders'. Once a mafia is always a mafia, Müller is born a mafia, he can't just strip free from that." I told him.

"Adam Knights may not have any name in our world, but Rob does. They together can be really bad to us, especially in our current situation." He said.

"Rob's just like Adam, he's an influential businessman especially with Max by his side, the only thing that got him in our world was because the A.L and her Crawlers had his back. And with them both out of the picture he couldn't do much in this world of ours. He's a wingless bird, we're the kings of the underworld." I explained.

"But they can cause us some serious financial damage which can lead to a riot to rise from within. It's all about money after all. Besides we still couldn't identify the Head Family and the Protecters, they can be anyone. One of them may be the head of the Protecters. They both have an abundance of riches to match the only criteria we know about the Protecters, especially Adam." He reasoned.

"True, except Adam's name was scrapped off of the list five years ago. He passed the test, remember." I reminded him.

He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off with my work phone vibrating in the breast pocket of his jacket.

He fished it out of the pocket and accepted the call. "I'm sorry, sir, he's not available right now." He said to the other person on the phone after he was cut off before he could speak when the call connected. I had a hunch who the caller was when my secretary said I was not in.

The phone was handed over to me moments after his statement. "I'm sorry, sir, he insisted." He told me, seemingly uncomfortable.

I'm sure he did not just insist. I took the phone from his stretched hand. "It's okay, go do what I asked." I assured him, and waited until he was out the door before I placed the phone on my ear.

"Yes?" I said nonchalantly.

"YOU MOTHER FUCKERS HAVE CROSSED EVERY LINE AND BREACHED EVERY RULE IN THE BOOK!" He yelled so loud that I'm sure my ear drum was damaged.

"Rob, I'm not deaf I can hear perfectly well without yelling. No need to damage both your vocal cords and my ear drums." I joked.

"Bring her back while I'm nice or I will personally slaughter you like the pigs you are!" He threatened.

"Oh, really? You and what army?" I mocked.

"Oh, trust me you don't want to know." His tone indicated he wasn't bluffing which made me a bit worried.

"A.L is gone Rob, so did the Crawlers. In our world, you have nothing but an empty shell of a reputation A.L gained for you, so you better know your place and who you're speaking to." I threatened.

"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you." He said.

I wasn't quite sure what he meant with that. Which part of my statement I wasn't sure about? A.L? The Crawlers? Or him? His tone and confidence gave me the creepy vibes.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"Why don't you find I out what I exactly mean since you're so smart." I can see him smirking right now and it ticked me off.

"Rob-"

"You have four hours to bring her back or you won't like the consequences." He threatened, cutting me off mid-sentence.

"I can't!" I rushed out when I sensed he was about to hang up on me.

"Then face the consequences." He said, menacingly.

"I don't have her!" I blurted out again before he could hang up.

A/N

Hello, lovelies! I saw some of you asking who Max and Rob are. Well, Rob is is not a new character, in fact they're all characters I mentioned earlier in the story but I introduced him with a different name unlike Max whom I mentioned, I think, once or twice in earlier chapters with his real name. Which is why I can't tell you where to look at exactly because that way you'll know who Rob is and I don't want you finding out just yet.

However, I'll give you a hint because you are my lovelies. Check the first 20 or 30 chapters you're bound to find something out from there. 😉

If you still couldn't find it out, don't worry, I'll be giving a hint on who they are if not revealing them and their roles.

Hope you enjoy the chap.

Until next time.
