Chapter 6: An Explosive Match

Kousuke heads back to Kick-Off with the ball and Hirata following behind him as Kousuke puts the ball down.

Hirata: What's the plan Kousuke?

Kousuke: Give me a second.

Kousuke- How will we deal with this? If we don't give enough attention to Arashi. Maybe at least 3 or four people to keep track of him... wait no... if we do that it leaves his teammates too open. I got it!

Hirata: Kousuke do you have a plan?

Kousuke: Ignore Arashi for now. There's nothing we can do about him. We have to just focus on scoring. There's no other way that we can win this. Kenji get into position. 

Kenji: I refuse. This team is beneath me. I won't do anything for team as disappointing as this. A striker that has no instinct. A Midfielder with no guts to score when nessasary and a crowd of miserable nobodies you call a team that haven't even contributed due to their lack of skill.

Kousuke- I know already that I have no instinct. That Hirata is someone who has always looked to others for support but we're a team and we can't have all that break apart before we even have a chance to prove ourselves.

Kousuke walks up to Kenji as grabs him by the collar.

Kousuke: You will follow my orders. You for us to use a combo between the two of us and so you're going to follow through.

Kenji sighs as he looks at Kousuke uninterested as he walks away.

Kousuke: Hirata. We'll have to win this game down one man.

The whistle blows as Kousuke passes the ball to Hirata as the two of them do some 1 2 passes as Kousuke turns on his Augmentation.

Kousuke: Alright lets do this!

Hirata: Yeah we're gonna win this!

Kousuke receives the ball as he dribbles through a few opponents and makes a pass to Hirata who receives it tries to make a pass but Arashi with smoke still coming off of his hands and feet starts dashing towards the pass but Kousuke goes shoulder with him as he barges against him to ensure he doesn't gain possession.

Kousuke- He should've been able to use his explosions to catch the ball and shoot in an instant so why hasn't he?

Kousuke gets possession of the ball as he rushes forward as he makes a pass to Hirata who looks for Kousuke to enter a free space but Kousuke isn't able to as an opponent steals the ball to turn the tables.

Kousuke: Hirata I told you to shoot at will!

Hirata: I'm sorry!

Kousuke- Damn it if they score another goal we'll be losing. I have to stop them no matter what! But where is Arashi? Why not use his Explosion Augmentation to steal the ball and score a goal quickly? Ah never mind that!

Kousuke quickly rushes to try and defend against the counter attack.

Hirata- Damn it! Why do I keep messing up like this? If this goes on I'll cost our team the match!

Announcer: Team B has lost the Ball and now Team A is looking for a counterattack.

Spectator 1: This is turning out to be quite the match huh?

Spectator 2: Yeah! I never expected such an intense match from Aura Users.

Spectator 3: Big Bro Yasuke is gonna be so jealous that he decided not to join us.

Spectator 4: Yeah!

Kousuke rushes through the advancing opponents and his own teammates to attempt to blockade the goal but he then drops back.

Kousuke- He always hangs back and...

Kousuke spots Arashi and clashes with him gaining a position in front of him as he tries to block his advance as Arashi tries to find a way through but Kousuke doesn't let him through.

Arashi- Damn it. Who is this guy? How is he so strong with a body like that?

Kousuke: There's no way I'll let you through!

Arashi: What are you even doing back here?

Kousuke: It just logical for me to pull back and stop the ball.

Arashi: You're a Striker! Stay within your role you damn shit!

Arashi tries to push Kousuke oof of him but isn't able to.

Kousuke: Just shut the hell up so that my teammates can recover and I can score!

Arashi: Damn you!

Kousuke: Get the ball back guys!

Arashi: Don't think I'm the only one who can score!

Kousuke- Damn it!

Kazuki receives the ball from his teammate as he passes the ball to another teammate as he runs to a position right outside the penalty box and receives a pass as Kazuki shoots the ball towards the goal.

Kousuke- Damn it all!

However the Goalkeeper punches it away just barely as the ball lands behind Arashi who tries to turn to receive it but as soon as he does Kousuke is pressuring him . Due to this Arashi can't find a path for the ball to go into the goal.

Kousuke: Face it, it ain't happening Arashi!

Arashi: Screw you!

Arashi passes the ball to Kazuki but a defender appears on the scene and intercepts the pass.

Arashi: Damn it Kazuki! What are you doing!?

Kazuki: Recover the ball!

The defender passes the ball to Hirata who proceeds to dribble back up the field with Kousuke following after him but Arashi doesn't rush in.

Kousuke- Again with this style of play. Waiting patiently to grasp at weaknesses in the opponent's defense to score a goal. Fine then, I'll just score two goals to finish this before you have a chance to do anything!

Hirata and Kousuke do a 1 2 pass getting through multiple opponents and Hirata passes the ball into an open area.

Kousuke- I can make it! I can receive it for sure!

Arashi with smoke coming off of his hands and feet rushes forward to try and steal the pass but Kousuke goes shoulder to shoulder with him again.

Kousuke- Damn it I don't understand why he hasn't used his Explosion Augmentation yet!

Arashi- Just a bit longer until I can use it. Gotta stall this out and find the perfect position and time to use my Explosion Augmentation!

Kousuke: Damn it I won't let you! No way!

Kousuke tries to get in front of Arashi.

Arashi- No! Damn it! This can't be...

Kousuke: You lose Arashi! I'm gonna win this match which is why you definitely will not get that free ball!

Slowly the smoke coming from Arashi's hands and feet fade and Arashi's Aura flares up again. An explosion triggers on Arashi's hands as he is sent flying forward as he lands pushing his feet into the ground. He drags his hand on the ground to drift in a way that he's face to face with Kousuke. Arashi then centers himself and positions himself with his back to his team's goal and then an explosion triggers on Arashi's back heel. Other explosions appear on his feet as he kicks the ball with enough force that the balls bursts straight past the goalkeeper who doesn't even try to block it knowing that even if he tried to catch it that it wouldn't work. The ball flies into the goal as the crowd cheers, the whistle blows and Arashi screams out in celebration as the score becomes Team A (2) : Team B (1).

Announcer: Another Goal from Hasshinsha Arashi at the 18 minutes and 43 second mark!

Spectator 5: Goal!

Spectator 6: That Arashi Guy is amazing huh!

Spectator 7: Yeah he is.

Spectator 8 (shouting): This is amazing!

Hirata (in shock)- No way that's real! That goal he scored has gotta be from at least 50 meters away!

Announcer: Another explosive goal from Hasshinsha Arashi! From about 55 meters away.

Hirata: Damn it! One more and we're done.

Kousuke gets back to kick off with the ball at his feet.

Kousuke: Hirata get over here! My analysis is complete.

Hirata: What is it?

Kousuke: I have to finish this fast so listen closely.

Hirata: What is it?

Kousuke: That Arashi guy uses an Explosion Augmentation but I think that every time he uses his Aura to shield his limbs from harm. However it also spreads combustible smoke from his hands and feet so if he overdoes it he'll injure his limbs. It takes roughly 5 minutes for the smoke to fade away.

Hirata: So in the next 5 minutes...

Kousuke: We need to score the next 2 goals.

Hirata: Alright. Let's do this!

Kousuke: Everyone on the Attack!

The whistle blows as Kosuke passes the Ball to Hirata and all of the members of Team B excluding the Goalkeeper rush forward into the attack.

Kousuke- There's no way anyone without at least White Aura can block Arashi's shot. Something like that would definitely end up injuring someone. There's no possible defense and one more goal will cost us the match so let's just break past and score these 2 goals and win or at the very least score 1 goal and wait out time. How long is left on the clock? It's been 19 minutes? Attacking is the best and only option we have right now!

Announcer: What's this? All the members of Team B are rushing forward in an attack!

Kousuke rushes forward in an attempt to get behind enemy lines but Kazuki block his path but Kousuke maneuvers around him to which Hirata sees this and gets into position.

Hirata- I'm a midfielder. My job is to pass to Kousuke so that he can score.

But Hirata seems dissatisfied by this notion.

Kousuke: Hirata not yet. Get into position and if I'm not there then shoot it in yourself! You hear me!

Hirata: Got it!

Hirata pushes forward past an opponent and passes to Kousuke as Kazuki grabs Kousuke's shoulder who turns on his Augmentation and visualizes a pass and then passes the ball to Hirata who pulls off a shaky direct shot that the Goalkeeper jumps to it and punches it away. However Kenji is there at the spot the ball is heading. He curve shoots the ball in the opposite direction that the Goalkeeper jumped making is impossible for him to save it.

Announcer: Goal!!!! Shinozuka Kenji scores a goal for Team B at the 21 minutes and 11 seconds mark!

Kazuki- Damn it!

Kousuke- Why would he participate now?

Hirata- Huh?

Kousuke walks up to Kenji.

Kousuke: Good goal but why did you decide to join in?

Kenji: My instincts were telling me to be a part of that play. I just felt it.

Kousuke- His instincts? He just felt it? I don't get it at all.

Kenji: If you can make plays like these you might just be able to entertain me after all.

Kousuke- So he'll only participate if the play is up to his standards? Well I suppose I can work with that.

Kenji walks back to his position.

Hirata: Kousuke I'm sorry.

Kousuke: it's fine. You shot the ball at will. That's a good step in the right direction. But you seemed so uneasy about all of this before. What changed your mind?

Hirata: I don't know.

Kousuke- The score is now Team A (2) : Team B (2) which means the next goal wins the match. There's less than 10 minutes left which means he can use it one more time.

Kousuke looks at Arashi and sees smoke still coming off of him.

Kousuke- Huh? It's definitely been 5 minutes so why is it still?
