'Frost Breath' and 'Ice Age'

Mugen returned home to find his mother still fast asleep. Unfortunately he had to wake her up for an important matter . They had to move out, he had already separated himself from the uchiha and once he makes a decision there is no going back on his words.

He shook her gently awake, " Mother, it's time to get up. "

"What is it my son?" She asks as she strokes his baby cheek.

"We have to move out and find a new place to live." He said. Mugen explained his first interaction with the uchihas.

"But still son, he cannot speak for the clan himself ... Why don't we..." She attempted to change his mind, after all this was where her husband lived and this was his clan.

"Mother!!!!" He raised his baby voice, " They don't pay us any mind at all and they weren't there when we needed them so we go our separate ways. We are not becoming enemies with them just cutting our ties. This house isn't ours anymore so let's go. " Mugen said resolutely.

"I have already made some money, turns out the sharingan has its uses" Mugen put it all on the sharingan.

"I have more" he said after he took out a few gold bars.

"Where did you get all that!" She asked bewildered.

He told her about his transformation jutsu and his encounters. Leaving out the fact that her savior was Tsunade and telling her it was just a nice lady. And of course the specifics like the dangerous parts. He just made it sound easy and that it was sharingan and luck.

"You must properly thank that nice lady for me if you meet her again" she waved her finger at him.

" Sure,mom" he replied.

"This is saber," he showed her the little black and white cat sized tiger. He realized that it had gotten slightly bigger not too much but still what a fast growth rate. His mother quite liked the little thing and immediately hugged it and even started playing with it.

Guess it's true what they say about women and cats and cute things. They packed their stuff and left. Seeing her baby boy already starting to act like man warmed her heart. She murdered his cheeks with her smooches of love and pride. She knew she could already begin to count on him.

"Mom, living by a stream near some trees with some fresh air sounds nice right. How about we stay in an inn for now and Have a nice house built." The idea was very nice and she agreed. Though Mugen added a few extra things like expensive wood. , doors, etc. All of them were top quality and the most expensive in the market. It would be like modern day when ordinary people wouldn't dream of spending millions for just a watch. This was all of Mugen's house.

His mother was slightly displeased at his actions but he convinced by saying this would be the house that her grandkids would visit her and they will be spending time with her here. This is also where they will spend a lot of time together so nothing but the best of the best.

"Look at you, you are the age to be someone's grandchild yet you're already thinking of giving me grandchildren." She pulled his cheek. He just ignored her teasing and had her make the necessary arrangements for them.

He found a good spot a while away from his usual training grounds. As he stared at his reflection in the water he activated the sharingan. After a while of losing himself in a daze just staring. He remembered what happened with the uchiha and how that person lost consciousness. He had a inkling that it was he who caused it. He reported to his mother about the spot he picked and then went to experiment.

Having no human test subjects. He used animals. His lazy cat just sat on his head and slept. He tried remembering what he felt that day and doing it again with animals. As he had suspected, the test subjects collapsed with almost no effort at all, in droves even. He attributed it to the fact ordinary animals had lower intelligence than humans. He had already done it to a human so it wasn't that hard.

As for the logic behind the technique. He figured with the sharingan as the base, sort of like a genjutsu, after they looked in his eyes, their minds froze and stopped working. As he didn't shatter their minds they would wake up, eventually after it melted. He didn't actually know how to shatter them. He experimented with this ability and found that freezing their minds were easy but the other techniques, were,not so much.

After a few months of hard work he is now able to freeze their minds 'actions', and the mind still be aware of what happens outside like being in a prison. It was perfect for torturing. He could freeze and shatter their minds as well and he felt if he was proficient enough he could freeze memories as well. There were many possibilities, but they require 'human' experimentation.

Not wanting to end up like orochimaru : he ended it there and decided to wait until the war or something else came up to test out his theories. Using that ability takes up chakra; with that man before he was angry so he didn't realize it but all his chakra was gone leaving only a little. If he hadn't caught him off guard it probably would not have worked. He guessed and hoped it was because his chakra wasn't stronger than the target. The animals had basically no resistance at all so that is most likely the case. Again test subjects needed. He would have to wait until the war.

Tsunade had left soon after she came without even saying goodbye. He could do nothing about it. Well he could but he didn't want to be clingy like naruto and sakura. He snuck into the academy to flirt with kurenai regularly in his days off from training. Usually he would train everday except Tuesday and Wednesday. He would drop in on her then. In today's lesson he sat beside her and made her laugh from time to time. The teacher suddenly mentioned the fireball jutsu.

He went quite in depth down to hand signs, history , effective ways to avoid, counter or cast etc. With the teacher going on and on about it, he had a sudden inspiration to make his own version.

That is going to hard though. Would his be 'Ice ball' fudge if that was the case when others are spraying flames in their enemies faces he would be dropping a ice block on his toes or maybe he would position his body and after it fell he should leave it there and make a combination jutsu called 'trip no jutsu' 'buck toe jutsu' or 'fall on face jutsu' .

That wouldn't work. After a while Mugen came up with another one. 'Glacial Style: Frost Breath'. Yeah that should do.

Mugen spent the his time trying to turn his breath into frost to nullify a fireball or similar jutsu. So far no luck though. In his many trial and error times, he stumbled upon something else it was like second nature to him it hardly took any effort to cast but maintaining it was another story. Basically he would freeze the ground and anything surrounding him like trees etc.

After a while of trying it out again and again. He recalled haku. He could pass through his ice, why shouldn't he. As expected he swam through the solid ice ground and trees like a fish in water. It was then he realized how foolish he had been not to try this sooner. His very cells must be Ice or something similar. He named this freezing justu, yes, "Ice Age" like kuzan's .

Thinking of haku's kekkei genkai though his was a kekkei tōta , he recalled guren. She could do so many things with her crystal style and so could Hashirama. He on the other hand had to try so hard. Naruto that fool created thousands or hundreds of shadow clones in his first try he on the other hand could barely manage one and now three.

Little did Mugen know there was a special reason for this. And his chakra while not at naruto's level; was closer to it than he thought. His clones took up a lot of chakra, as for the reason, he would find that out later on.

Suddenly he thought of kimimaro, such a subordinate is wasted on orochimaru. He was a descendant of kaguya with tsunade's help he could cure his disease and let him live serving him. Itachi could be saved as well. He wasn't a savior of humanity and he didn't have a strong sense of justice; he wouldn't harm The innocent but he wasn't The hero. The reason he thought of saving itachi is that he would make a splendid right hand man with his skills. He should be born around now.

It was too soon to recruit a baby and he wasn't nearly as strong enough yet so he put those thoughts on hold.

Mugen finished completing 'frost breath' two weeks before he turned three. He had always planned to start training his body at 3 so he was looking forward to it. He decided to rest his body for those two weeks to get a fresh start. Other than daily functions like eating, sleeping and an hour with kurenai, he couldn't restrict her growth as a ninja after all, he just slept ; resting his mind as well.

Mugen sprang up from his bed. It was time to start training his body as he is at a crucial growth stage now. Other than increasing his chakra he shall do nothing but train his tiny body for two years. Yes, two whole years. After all the body is a crucial part of..... Well basically everything.
