The Ambush of Frost pt. 3

As soon as he finished with his recovery, Hada once again raised his [Bara] with his prosthetic ice arm. Its handle began to glow as the light slowly spread towards its blade.

Like a candle in the dark, he shone brightly, covered in cyan light. The trees around him shed their leaves, as they quickly turned pale and ice-cold. He controlled the surrounding wind with a freezing atmosphere called upon by his magic.

[Ice Magic]

[7th Level]

"(Tsunami of Ice)"

"Iswangko Semptayu…"

Icy mist gather around his blade and the air began to solidify into crystals of ice. Those crystals flowed, conducted by the movement of his blade.

A giant wave formed behind him, its size covered the moon and the sky and bathed the earth with cold cyan light. All the things nearby turned frozen solid even rocks and dirt.

"Perish."

Hada gracefully swung his sword, and the icy wave followed his blade dance. The large catastrophe streams its body to the ground the Yakshi stood upon, marching menacingly as it's about to devour her whole.

"A huge load already? We barely even starting~" She snapped her fingers, and a black and white portal soon engulfed her whole.

The waves crashed, and the entire battlefield transformed into a stage of ice. Everything was glaced, enveloped by layers of ice. Snow began to fall, it was truly a winter wonderland.

But as soon as it was over, the night went silent. The Yakshi just left, and Hada stays unmoved since his consciousness realized his enemy still exists somewhere around him.

*!!!*

A black and white portal opened itself behind Hada. He could hear and feel its presence. And from it, the Yakshi casually walked out of it.

"Now… ready for round—"

Not a single second wasted, Hada instantly lunged hard with his sword slashing along the coat of ice dressing on its blade. The strike was directly pointed at her eyes.

*Clank!*

Their blades clashed. The Yakshi barely blocked his advance, but it was successful nonetheless. Icicles scattered all around, sparkling the night with the light of winter.

"Aren't you an impatient one?" I could see cold sweat dripping down her forehead.

Yet Hada didn't stop there. Both of his hands might be occupied, but his feet run free. With that, he vivaciously kicked the Suanggi right on her stomach, and it was powerful enough to throw her flying high in the air.

*Ack!*

Black blood spurted out of her mouth.

Meanwhile, Hada already put a stance with his sword held firmly beside his waist. His eyes and blade shone with cyan light. A spell is being channeled, and cold-white mist emitted around the Malianis.

[Ice Magic]

[6th Level]

"(Icy Half Moon)"

"Isserap Paro!"

A quick slash and all the mist got absorbed into his strike. A wave of ice energy is the shape of half moon shot itself coursing through the air to the floating Suanggi.

The Yakshi saw the approaching wave since it was quite slow for the standard of higher ranking Suanggi. She once again called upon the black and white portal, to escape the damage that it might cause her.

Yet before the portal was even able to catch her, Hada teleported right behind her. It was a blink, short enough distance for his travel not to be bothered by the chaos disturbance.

She looked at him with the gaze of horror.

*Smack!*

Hada kicked her in the back and pushed her to face the wave directly. A clean hit. And the Yakshi found her body now covered in cold energy, freezing profusely.

I bet it was painful, but the Suanggi was quick to recover. She stabbed her scimitar to the icy ground, right before she hit it on her fall.

A giant cross created a line on the battleground and the earth around it split. Stary sky could be seen inside it. Darken light flew harshly out of it and form waves of void energy right above. Each of them shot through the air, flying like a guided missile with Hada as its target.

Hada blinked here and there, evading every single one of them, causing those waves to collide with each other. Meanwhile, he grew closer to the Yakshi, and his blade burning with frostbite, ready to shatter her very existence.

Unfortunately, he's not fast enough. Another black and white portal already touched the skin of that Suanggi. She might be weakened, but Hada won't get the chance to finish her if she went beyond the portal.

"You're quite rough, ice boy. Let's play again… next time—" And just like that, she's gone.

The whole atmosphere lost its tension. That Yakshi left, and won't be back anytime soon. Hada left to survive another day, although unable to get a clean ending.

His body sensed no threat was left around it, and the [Lone Wolf] ability turned itself off.

Hada's body fell, lying limp on the solid ground, without any stamina nor mana left. His health is also in critical condition. And to make it worst, the backlash of [The Gift of Superconduct] finally showed its effect.

"Falisha… it's cold…"

"Would you mind… turning on the heater…?"

Hada lost most of the heat in his body and was now freezing to his core. He might've won the battle, but with his condition now, even with the best of Sarma's medication, he won't be able to continue the rest of orientation week.

He needs immediate medical attention, and deep, long rest.

"Brother! Hada!"

He could hear the sounds of his sister. And fortunately for him, it was not a part of his hallucination. The rest of the team finally arrived to pick Hada up and he's now being healed along with Sahasya in Althea's room.

The team didn't wait till morning to bring the two DPS out of the Exhibit. They hurried in the state of emergency and went straight back to the city's hospital.

Both Hada and Sahasya suffered from having their resources (stamina and mana) depleted. The only one who can heal this kind of wound is the catgirl, Mojang Maung.

There are a couple of them already stationed at the hospital, and that morning (dawn) the brothers got full healing from them.

With Hada unable to continue, the team gave up the orientation. It won't affect their grades whatsoever, but of course, this might hurt their reputation, especially being the team with the most main family members.

That'll be the end of our orientation arc. I'll meet you lots again in the next one.

God of Knowledge, out.
