Morning Class

Early morning inside this hall is just so… relaxing. I've also realized the beat played by Her Holiness' Kendang was slow, soft, and soothing at the time. It's the perfect rhythm to laze around in bed.

"Anna… this table is sucking me in. The coolness… it's making me… sleepy." I lay my head on the curved table at the back of the hall. The top of it was layered in resins, and through it, I could see the highly crafted ornament residing under it.

Anna then sat right beside me and do the same. Our gaze face each other, I could see her eyes slowly turning drowsy.

The breeze blowing out of the wind crystal-powered air conditioner just enhances the feeling even more, not to mention how the bluish light from the lamp colored this room.

Amid the chilling atmosphere this hall created, I could feel the warmth of Anna's breath gently touching my face. Hearing those air flows always calms me. As if she spoke to me that… I'm not alone.

I've been sharing a bed with her since the day we graduated, cause the dorm for boys and girls are separated back there in Papendangan (Waraney School).

So even though we were basically together as a duo Leo-Kalipopo as soon as our military school started, we still got parted every time night came.

Can't say that it made me sad at the time, but now that we're closer than ever, it felt like the world turns against me whenever she's not with me.

Fuck the void.

"Mr. Lion Prince, do you wanna eat the breakfast we brought?" She offered as she raised the plastic bag containing it with her left hand.

"Sure." I got up before this comfy table could consume me. "Let's heat it up a little."

I like cold things, but cold food is just pure disgusting. I'm sure every Genka can agree with me on that one.

[Fire Magic]

"(Fire)"

"Gen."

As Anna arrange those delicacies in a more suitable manner, I lit up a fire candy which radiates exactly the perfect heat to warm a buffet. Hmmh… as soon as the foods start emitting their faint smoke, we both could smell the magical aroma of Mother Adeline's creation.

"God, bless the gift that You have given us…" A tiny prayer before our breakfast.

The food is a blast, as usual.

"By the way, are the class going to be conducted in this room?" I asked, a bit embarrassed since I was usually flooded with intel which I wholeheartedly gathered every night.

Although Anna will always be there during my nightly research. So if I ever forgot about something, she'll remember it for me. Well, we will also have Chiya joining us from now on, but I honestly don't know how far she'll go.

"All the required courses will be held in each class' Lecture Hall." She answered with her usual unexpressive face.

"Ah… so it is alright for us just to stay here, right?" I leaned back on my ever so comfy chair, feeling unusually lazy.

"You could do whatever you want, brother. Even if the course will take place in another room, only our class uses this hall." She continued to stare at me as if waiting for the next step I'll take.

"Bless the cold wind…" I can no longer hold the weight in my eyes. This class just created the perfect room for me to just… give myself in.

"Hey, Your Highness… Good morning…" I was awoken by a sweet coquettish voice coming from my left. As I opened my eyes and look in its direction, I saw Chiya sitting right beside me along with the hall which was already filled with archstudents.

"The teacher's here!" She looks quite happy when she said it for whatever reason. Her face is as cheerful as ever, yet weirdly seductive.

I turned my gaze to the front of the class and found that she was saying the truth. There a mature-looking Melati was preparing for today's material. Markers with all kinds of colors floating around her, while the one colored in black began creating boxes on different spots of the board.

She doesn't look any shorter than Anna, yet she's using her white horn magic to perform her writing. A bit lazy, yet very efficient.

Oh right, speaking of Anna…

"Haha… I guess you can't handle it either eh?" She's been leaning on my shoulder, completely fallen asleep. "Wake up, butterfly. The teacher might stare at you drolling." She's not though.

"Huh…?" It didn't take long for her to get back to reality. She immediately sat neat and straight, after finished rubbing both of her eyes. "It's not even 8." She said after looking at the clock above the whiteboards.

"Oh, you're right." I didn't even think of it. "Does the teacher already start the class?" I asked the ashen lady.

"Noppy nope." Chiya shook her head. "She just got in when I woke you up."

When I put my gaze back at the board she's been writing, it's already full of diagrams, tables, and words. All painted in a myriad of colors.

"Alright alright!" The teacher stepped forward to the edge of her stage. "Good morning class!" She shouted with a bright smile and lively voice.

"Good morning, missus!" The whole class answered in an enthusiastic manner.

"A lovely day to start the academic life isn't it?" She asked. "Sadly, two of our friends won't be joining us for the week." Her smile is still intact, but it was a lot more respectful this time.

"But don't let that put off your flame! Honor our friends through our spirit in learning and wish for them, a fast recovery." That's a Melati alright. I could feel the weight of her fate when she said the word 'wish'. It was very powerful.

"My name is Aalisha Kuciang, and starting today… I'll be teaching you how to improve and develop yourself, through the means of social science."
