The night was loud, but we were able to get some good night's sleep. I lost sight of Chiya for a while, though she probably did her night prayer.
When morning came we immediately left, making sure that we safely arrive in front of the exhibit right at 8 AM to continue our orientation in the next biome.
"There's not much attack eh? Does that mean morning is the safest time to venture outside?" Hada asked during our way back from the top of his seat inside Althea's room.
"I guess it's like a transition time between the nocturnal and daywalker." I tried to answer.
"Another question to be asked when we finally back at the academy."
As planned, we arrive at the complete safety of the zoo right at 8 AM. The Living Corpses there automatically opened the gate right at that time, as they probably ordered to do so.
"Hi kids! How's your first night at Kaput's wilderness?"
Sir Mahanta was already there ready to welcome us while enjoying his morning coffee. Around him is wooden tables and chairs, arranged as if they were located at the front of some restaurant.
"It was alright, Sir. There's nothing really life-threatening, and the wildlife even fights one another during their attempt to hunt us." I replied.
All of us quickly take our seats at one of the ones that he had prepared for us. There's no food provider anywhere around, but Falisha took the initiative to prepare us our breakfast, along with some meal for our Watcher.
"Well, there's three more days to go and three more biomes to explore. Although I didn't line them up according to the difficulty level. It's just some random number the higher up gave to you kids." Sir Mahanta added.
"Fair enough. Random chances are also part of life anyway." I commented.
"Wise word, Your Highness."
We stayed for about two hours chatting. When 10 AM came, we all once again line up in front of the next exhibit, after a couple of minutes ride with the bus.
The current number is E1, the tropical rainforest biome. I once read that this one used to have the highest number of biodiversity back then in the Shattered World.
In Selebes, any flora and fauna can live in any part of the island. But not every single one of them exists there. We need to ask the Tree of Life to bring them to life.
The problem lies in our limited knowledge. Both the Goddess of Life and the Tree of Life have every information embedded in their head, so all we need is just the name of the creature. Yet of course, finding out one's name is not something that easy to achieve.
"Alright, it's time kids! The second day of your wilderness orientation. You can rest when Sunday comes, but for now, exploration is something you need to learn especially with how new this Island to all of you." Said Sir Mahanta, giving us a little speech before we continue our journey.
"I've received the ratna from His Highness, it was correct and your first day was successful. But today, your mission is a bit different."
"Unlike any other biome, Uhndak is booming at the tropical rainforest. Them being a high-ranking predator to the animals will ruin the balance of this exhibit."
"Usually His Holiness cleans this up Himself, but He left this one to you guys as your today's mission."
"The Uhndaks should've made some village and cultivation facility for their children, they're a plant after all. We need you kids, to destroy at least 7 of it, and survive the night to come back safely the next morning."
"That's all the instruction I can give you, see you tomorrow!"
That was his last words and Sir Mahanta finally left, leaving us alone again with only our team members. He didn't even open the gate for us since I told him about Hada talking to the Living Corpses.
Well, whatever, relying on our own teammates is better than to a veteran when it comes to a learning process.
"Brother, we're ready to leave," I said to Hada, asking him to initiate the start of our second day.
"Let's go!"
Hada walked himself closer to the Living Corpse serving as the gatekeeper. However, instead of asking nicely, he shouts as loud as he can.
"Buka pintunya! (open the gate!)"
The gatekeeper emotionlessly followed his order. It seems like we don't need to treat them as a comrade to make them function properly.-
*Kriek…!*
The gate then slowly opened, showing what lies behind those dark green doors.
And what we saw there is another dark green. Trees all the eyes can see. It was a dense forest with very concentrated vegetation. Alongside that, we all can hear how loud the jungle is, with the sound of bugs and birds chirping all over.
"I think I can understand why you asked me to bring those lotions, Your Highness." Said Chiya nervously. I could see cold sweat dripping all over her fully opened self.
"You should change into more covering clothes Chiya, you're exposing a lot of skin for the bugs to bite you, and some plants might also give you some itchiness maybe even inflammation," I suggested.
The temperature and humidity here also felt highly different from the Savannah.
"Okay… come on Anna!"
She then grabbed Anna's hand, which I totally didn't suspect, and summoned a black mist to cover up their body while changing. It's somewhat thin tho, I can still see their curvy silhouette.
To my surprise, it didn't take them long to finish, and after a while, the mist perish. The two come out with completely new attires.
"How do we look?" Chiya asked with a flirtatious smile.
"Perfect." I replied.
I saw their clothing once on TV, I think it's called the safari explorer outfit or something, colored in light brown, with the only difference being the symbol on their right chest. Red fire for Anna and purple darkness for Chiya.
It looks extremely fitting for a jungle environment, especially since they both used pants instead of a skirt (although usually Anna never wore any of those, only pantyhose or legging, every clothes she own shaped her curve).
Every part of their legs and arms is also coated in transparent nylon, which is technically more covering than the original that isn't combined with a full bodystocking.
Oh, and they also got a round hat on top of their head.
"Hehe… it was worth asking Mrs. Senaria to make us this attire~"
Chiya looked delighted with the result. Meanwhile, Anna seemed somewhat uncomfortable wearing something that isn't skin-tight on her legs.
"Wait, you went to Mrs. Senaria for outfit!?" Hazana felt so betrayed knowing that.
"Ah…ahaha… sorry girl, I completely forgot about you…"
Yeah… Chiya mostly only hangs out with me and Anna. Poor girl.
