Amanda Smith was really at a loss. She shook her head and said to Joy Parker, "I'll make the call."
"Oh… okay."
On the side, after Samuel Johnson had washed his face, he came out of the bathroom. Not far away, Joy made a thumbs-up gesture, signaling that she had everything under control.
Samuel couldn't help smiling at the gesture, but as he came to his senses, he tightened his expression forcefully. He looked towards Amanda, who was not far off, making a phone call to ask for leave. His lips curled up slightly, and when she hung up the phone and turned around, his face returned to its expressionless state.
Joy enthusiastically hooked Amanda's arm, pulling her toward the hotel's third-floor buffet restaurant. It was getting late, with many people dining. Joy found a table for Amanda to sit down at and asked cheerfully, "What would you like to eat? The pan-fried buns here are really good."
