Samuel Johnson took out his phone and fiddled with it for some time. Upon seeing that there were only ten minutes left, his expression darkened.
If the other party didn't show up in the next ten minutes, he was probably being stood up.
Not only did this mean that his efforts over the past half month had been in vain, but what made him even more frustrated was that he might have to break his promise of giving Amanda Smith a month's time.
As time passed, the person waiting became visibly agitated. The sea remained very quiet, with no one in sight.
Jordan Guthrie did not show up.
"Mr. Johnson!"
Suddenly, someone cried out in alarm, "Someone's coming!"
Samuel Johnson looked up and saw that, at some point, the sea was suddenly filled with numerous ships and boats. He narrowed his eyes, somewhat surprised.
Someone shouted in his ear: "It's the coast guard!"
The people he had brought with him began to stir, and Samuel Johnson said sternly, "Quiet!"
