Amanda Smith glanced at her phone and saw it was the editor calling. She nodded at Tasha Moore and whispered, "I'll take this call."
Tasha Moore was still in a daze. Amanda spoke to her, but she didn't seem to hear.
Amanda walked over to a corner with her phone.
Alone on her chair, Tasha felt waves of cold and heat wash over her. Amanda's words stirred up a tumultuous storm in her heart!
She could have chosen not to believe Amanda's words; after all, they were rivals in love. How could she possibly trust what Amanda said?
But, oddly enough, those words she felt should be dismissed, when they came from Amanda's mouth, she found herself believing them involuntarily.
Samuel Johnson had indeed grown colder towards her.
