Give Me A Break

Vic and Meghan are childhood best friends. Both vowed to take care of each other when they were still young. Soon… both of them grew up, sharing happiness and sadness together. As Meghan grew up as a pampered child, she always gets everything she wants. But for Vic, he grew up in a hard way as everything must be done by himself so he became matured and independence. Meghan moved into Vic’s house when she had a fight with her housemates for one silly reason, she wanted to go to Paris with them but they gave her lots of excuse not to go along. She felt hurt and went straight to someone whom she knew won’t make her in pain, Vic. Even though Vic told her for millions times not to act so childish but she stubbornly refused to move back. As her best friend, he just shrugged it off, maybe already knew her since young and let her taking the empty room in his place. Like a happy little girl, she agreed to follow few rules made by him. One, don’t make the place in mess. (Meghan always throws her belonging everywhere but because of this rule, she has to collect back all the things as Vic refuses to pick them up or he will pick them up but straight away throws them into the dust bin.) Second, don’t bring anyone to the house especially boyfriend. (Vic doesn’t like anyone especially man to come into his house without his permission as the house looks more like a crazy one with Meghan loves to put the flowers and things she receive all around the living room and other rooms, even making Vic’s things ‘disappear’ under her things.) Third, don’t bring any reporter to the house and no photo shooting in any part of the house. (Vic hates reporters very much.) Fourth, if she wants to go somewhere for few days, tell him first so he won’t need to cook for two. (Meghan can cook but she just pushes the responsibility to Vic, too lazy) Fifth, never tell anybody where she lives or with whom she lives with. (Vic expects Meghan to respect his privacy as he does to her.)

I want us to be what we used to

Meghan sighed heavily, walking into her room. It's been a month already after she let him together with Annie. She should be happy as he is happy now.

"Am I stupid to give him to her?" she asked herself. She looked at the mirror, noticing how pale she looks lately. She sighed.

"But people say that if we make the one we love happy, we will happy too but why I feel so miserable?" she murmured, lying on her bed. She took one teddy, hugging it tightly.

"Why I'm not the one in your heart?" she asked the teddy but no answer. She sighed again.

She was mumbling to herself when the phone rang. She looked at the name, beginning to smile. It's Vic!!!

"Hello…" she said cheerfully.

"Hey, Ann asks if you want to join our dinner." Her face changed.

"Sorry, Vic but I have photo shooting in few hours," she lied.

"Oh… then, I just pack for you, okay?"

"Bye, Vic," she said, pushing the button slowly. She sighed, putting it back to the table, lying back to the bed.

"Well… he has her now. He's not mine anymore…" she murmured sadly.

"I'm hungry already…" she said, stroking her stomach. She thought that tonight she can have dinner with Vic after a few days they haven't had dinner together but it still the same. She sighed, closing her eyes, ignoring the growling in her stomach. Since both Vic and Annie together, she stopped eating dinner, as she doesn't use to eat alone without Vic. She tried to eat outside, in a fancy restaurant but the feel is not the same. So, every night, she sleeps with her empty stomach.

..........................................…

Vic laughed, cutting the steak. Annie wiped her mouth, trying to stop her giggling.

"So, he just go straight to the manager's office, didn't believe that you really are the manager?" Annie asked. Vic nodded.

"Yeah. His face paled to see me walking to the chair, sitting in front of him," Vic said. Annie giggled, drinking her apple juice slowly.

"Here, sir, the black pepper steak," one waiter gave him a plastic. He smiled, paying him the price.

"It won't be delicious anymore when you give to her," Annie said. Vic smiled.

"I just reheat it back," he replied, putting the plastic next to his plate. Both continued talking while finishing their food.

"Tonight is great," Annie said, smiling.

"So, see you tomorrow, okay?" he said, kissing her cheek. She giggled, walking to the gate.

"See you tomorrow, Vic." He smiled, driving away.

When he arrived, he went to her room to wake her up. He chuckled to see her sleeping soundly on the bed.

"Meghan, wake up. I bought you steak," he said, gently shaking her shoulders. She groaned, turning around.

"Meghan, wake up," he said again.

"I've eaten already. Let me sleep," she mumbled, pulling the teddy bear closer. He chuckled, pulling the blanket to cover her body before switching off the light. She turned around when he closed the door. She sniffed, rubbing her empty stomach.

"I haven't eaten yet. I'm very hungry but I want to be like we used to. I want to eat the food you cook. I want you to tease me, pulling my bear, pulling my hair, pinching my cheek,…" she chocked out slowly. She closed her eyes, wanting to go to the dreamland, where Vic loves her, where Vic teases her, treating her like always.
