CHAPTER 41 (Grand Final)

Alina dragged Chloe out of the the gate.

"Alina, please listen to your mother. I did so many wrong things in the past but you can't do this to me Alina. I'm still your mum. You can't hate me this much" Chloe said in tears.

"And why shouldn't I? You're not even remorseful for the things you did to me. Just get lost" Alina yelled and banged the gate angrily.

Alina fell down to the ground in tears as she held her chest.

Till this moment, she still doesn't care about me. She's so heartless. Alina said in her head as she felt so much pain.

"Alina" Nolan called out about to walk to her but Sam stopped him.

"Give her some time to cry it out" Sam cried.

Louis opened his eyes slowly and his eyes landed on Sam.

"Grandpa!" Louis called out excitedly as he spread his arms wide open.

"My grandson. Come here, come to grandpa" Sam said excitedly with a smile.

Nolan gave Louis to Sam with his eyes fixed on Alina worriedly.

"Your presence means nothing to me. You only brushed up all my old bruises. If you weren't going to beg for my forgiveness then you shouldn't have showed your face to me. You should have remained dead to me because that's exactly how I feel" Alina uttered with so much hate and she ran out of the gate.

Running down the street wiping off her tears.

Falcon was in his car heading to Sam's place when he saw Alina in that state running down the street.

"Alina!" Falcon called out and he reversed immediately.

He parked by the road side and ran after Alina.

"Alina! Alina!" Falcon called out running after her but Alina couldn't hear him because her mind was so occupied.

"Alina watch out!" Falcon screamed and he grabbed her hand as she was about bumping into a little boy riding his bicycle.

"Alina, what's wrong with you? Why would you run around like that by the road?" Falcon scolded and Alina turned around.

Tears roll down her cheeks.

"Alina, what happened? Why are you crying? Did something happen at home?" Falcon asked worriedly and Alina ran into his embrace.

"My...my.... mother showed up out of nowhere" Alina cried on Falcon's shoulders.

Falcon froze in shock as Alina wrapped her arms around his back.

His heartbeat raced a marathon with Alina's head on his chest, he tried to pat her hair but couldn't do it.

Nolan stood from afar as he watched them.

"Alina, let's go sit somewhere or let's go back home" Falcon said nervously as he broke the hug.

"I don't want to go home right now. I wish to get some fresh air" Alina sniffed.

"Don't worry, let's go somewhere close by" Falcon said and they walked to his car.

He drove down to a convenience store and Falcon got them some yogurt.

"You like this as well?" Alina asked and he nodded.

"I noticed some ladies like this and I've tried it a couple of times as well and I happen to like it" Falcon said with a smile after taking a sip.

"Falcon, I'm pretty sure, dad told you something about my mum. Did you find out anything about her?" Alina asked slowly.

"Are you sure, you want to talk about it?"

"I believe you heard something about her"

"Well, your mum lived a very good life after she left your dad. She successfully got married to a very wealthy man. She became a homewrecker. You will be shocked if I told you who she got married to" Falcon narrated slowly and Alina hit the bench they were sitting.

"I would have felt better if she went through hell after leaving my dad. I can't believe, she lived a good life. Where's the word karma!" Alina said angrily as she clenched her fist.

"Of course, everything that goes around comes around"

"What do you mean Falcon? And who exactly did she get married to?" Alina asked curiously.

"Alina, she got married to Nolan's dad" Falcon said and Alina widened her eyes in shock.

"What!" She gasped in shock.

"But Nolan's dad is late?"

"He died years back but he didn't leave anything for your mum in his will and that's why your mum is.." Falcon couldn't complete his statement when Alina cut in.

"And that's why she hates Nolan so much. I think her marriage with Nolan's dad was a secret marriage because Nolan would have known her the moment he saw her"

"This conversation seem to be provoking you. Let's not talk about it anymore. You don't need to find out more about a woman who doesn't even care if you're still breathing. You're happy right now with your family and that's what matters and as long as you're happy, I'm happy as well" Falcon said with a half smile.

Alina glanced at him and laughed.

"You care about me this much and I didn't even bother reaching out to you ever since I left for the states" Alina said with her face down.

"Of course, Alina what are friends for and I've gotten so many tabs on you so I don't think I missed any details about you" Falcon laughed.

"You sound just like a smart stalker. By the way, did you manage to capture any girl's heart with this great charms of yours?" Alina teased.

"I couldn't manage to even capture the heart of just one girl I cherish so much so how can I even attract someone else" Falcon said almost in a whisper and Alina stared at him with so much concern.

"There's a girl you have feelings for? You never told me about it"

"It's not important but enough about me. How's your relationship with Nolan? The both of you sorted everything out right?" Falcon asked and Alina smiled widely.

"I guess I'm lucky to have someone like Nolan in my life. He didn't allow pride come in between us. We sorted everything all thanks to him" Alina smiled.

I'm happy for you Alina but why does it hurt, hearing such words from you? Falcon said in his head staring at her.

"But how did you manage to know about my issue with Nolan?"

"Have you forgotten already? Of course, I know everything. I just put a blind eye to certain things"

"Falcon, stop being so hard on yourself and get yourself a girlfriend. You deserve a good lady to be by your side"

"If you weren't married, I would have asked you to do that instead" Falcon said and Alina started coughing.

"Come on, Falcon don't be silly. Don't joke with things like that. You scared me for a second" Alina laughed.

"Don't mind me, I thought I'm good with jokes now. Silly me" Falcon giggled.

"Alina, I think you should head back home now. Your dad and husband must be worried about you" Falcon reminded and Alina nodded.

"Thank you for sitting next to me in a time like this. Thanks to you, I feel much better now. You're such a good friend" Alina smiled.

A text came on Falcon's phone. It was a message from Nolan.

Falcon read the text and stood up.

"I will drop you off. I have to rush off to somewhere" Falcon said.

"Don't worry about me. I can take the taxi home. You go ahead. Thank you for the yogurt" Alina said grinning then she left the convenience store.

Falcon rushed to his car and head down to the location attacked to Nolan's message to him.

"You came quite early, like you've got something to say to me as well" Falcon said and sat down facing Nolan.

"Did you confess your feelings to Alina?" Nolan asked out of the blue and Falcon chuckled.

"I wish I did" He said sarcastically.

"So what stopped you? You've got more than enough reasons to confess to her now that we aren't officially back together" Nolan said coldly.

"It would have been perfect If it was true but you're not divorced. The both of you are still legally married, although Alina doesn't know of it yet and I love things the way they are now. I hate making things complicated for me. I would rather stay this way and she will keep on seeing me as a friend" Falcon said calmly.

"What about your feelings? Are you going to let go without confessing them?"

"Why does it feel like you're not happy with my decision? Naturally you're supposed to be happy, I'm giving up the feelings I have for Alina. I love her as much as you do but she doesn't feel the same for me. She loves you a lot and I'm happy for her. This conversation right now, isn't even supposed to be discussed. It's weird coming out from you. You've got some conscience asking me about it but just concentrate on your marriage life and family, I will be just fine and just so you know, single life is the best" Falcon said in a relaxed tone and took off his jacket.

"Ma'am, can I get a bottle of soju please" Falcon said to the owner of the restaurant.

"You want to drink out your sorrows" Nolan said.

"I just made the most toughest decision in my life. Of course, I deserve to drink it out" Falcon pouted and Nolan laughed.

"I'm not going to tell you sorry. It's fair and square" Nolan said jovially.

Alina got back home...

Sam was seated at the sitting room.

"Dad" Alina called out slowly and Sam stood up.

Alina ran to him and hugged him tight.

"I'm so sorry dad. You must have felt so disappointed of my actions. I was so foolish I'm sorry" Alina apologized in tears and Sam pat her hair.

"It's okay my dear. Since you've come back to your senses, I should cut you some slack. I'm sorry for what happened today as well. Chloe's presence must have reminded you of the hurtful days. I'm sorry. Now I hope you stop blaming yourself for whatever happened in the past. She has always been a selfish woman and that's why she did all that just so she would break free. I'm sorry for giving you a mother like that"

"It's okay dad. It's been long I last thought of her as my mother because to me, you're my father and mother. You're all I need dad. Thank you" Alina said and Sam wiped off his tears.

FOUR MONTHS LATER....

Aria and Matthew's reception...

Aria couldn't come out of her dressing up as she felt so unease.

"Ria, we have to go out now. The guests are probably waiting to see you. How about you try calming yourself down?" Alina suggested and Aria rubbed her chest.

"Lina, I'm sorry but I can't go out there. I might end up throwing up there. I think I'm getting an indigestion because I'm being so nervous all day" Aria said worriedly and Alina held her hand and massaged it.

"How about I give you some relaxing pills?" Alina asked.

"I don't think, that would be of any help. When I've gotten to this height of nervousness, pills doesn't work anymore"

"But what made you this anxious and nervous? Your mum and I have been on your side all day so what happened?" Alina asked curiously and Aria looked around just in case anyone's watching.

"Don't worry, no one's here. Everyone's at the reception hall" Alina confirmed.

"I had no idea that Matthew's dad was a pastor" Aria uttered sharply.

"You had no idea? How's that even possible? Didn't Matt say anything about it?"

"He once mentioned but I thought he was only bluffing. I can't believe his dad saw me in that kind of a wedding dress in his church. I think I ruined everything before I even became Matt's wife" Aria said almost in tears and Alina pat her back.

"You're an idol, a superstar. I'm pretty sure his dad knows of the trend of fashion this days. He might probably not even see it as a big deal so why are you killing yourself,"

"Ria, I might probably die of anxiousness out there so please can you help me, greet the guests on my behalf instead" Aria requested holding her stomach.

"What about your photos?"

"Before then, I've probably gotten rid of this indigestion"

~"The bride should please give us a heartwarming dance with her groom" The MC at the reception hall announced and Aria pushed Alina out of the room.

"Please do this for me bestie. Thank you" Aria said and placed a beautiful mask on Alina's hands and she locked the door quickly.

Aria did her dance performance in front of me but I can't remember all the steps. What do I do? Alina questioned in her head as she put on the mask.

Everyone waited patiently for Aria at the reception hall and the giant door cracked up.

Alina walked in majestically with her mask on.

"Oh my goodness, Aria's so beautiful" The guests complimented.

Nolan stared at her and he smiled.

My wife is definitely the most prettiest. Nolan complimented in his head.

Alina walked to Matt and he held her hand with a smile on.

They turned around.

"Alina, what's going on? Where's Aria?" Matt whispered.

"You will find out soon" Alina whispered.

Nolan walked up to Alina with he smile on and he held her hand

"Even with your mask on, you made my heart skip a beat. I will love you endlessly, my mask girl" Nolan said passionately and Alina smiled widely.
