Chapter 6

"One day, you will be old enough to start reading fairytales again." ~ The Chronicles of Narnia

Author Note~ Hi, I want to let you know this next Oc is not my own but by the lovely Juko-chan! Her art is amazing and I highly recommend you check it out. Anyway that's all you need to know. Enjoy!

Mercy was sitting at the corner of the cafe where the sun was not beating down so much that it blinds her but enough so that it framed her face and warmed her body. She was currently reading her Death Note manga with a small smile on her face, but her mind wouldn't shut off about the conversation earlier.

(Flashback)

Mercy sat silently on the couch whilst her father stood on the sidelines in thought. "Hmmm... so Eto is making a move?" He asked, distributed. "Not sure, but she is putting more pressure on me joining her organization." Mercy started with her eyes closed, placing her leg over the other in a comfortable position. The manager stayed silent, really upset about this new information.

Mercy dug into her pocket and pulled out her pack of cigars. "You know I don't like you smoking." He said, opening  his ghoul eyes in a glare. "Urazi... I know old man. Don't get your panties in a knot." She growled, irritated. She lay silent then sighed. "Don't think too much into it. They haven't made a move yet and besides I'm monitoring her." She said, exhausted. "I know. Thank you for doing this." He smiled. The glare all but gone in a second. Mercy rolled her eyes, letting the compliment bounce off her. "If that is all, then I'm going back down stairs to enjoy the rest of my day off." She scoffed. Mercy jumped up from the couch and made her way to the door.

"One more thing." The manager said abruptly. Mercy turned her head in a confused way, urging him to continue. "Touka has to stay and study for an upcoming entrance exam for high school. I'm hoping you can fill in on her for groceries tonight?" He asked. "Ohhh, so I get to hangout with Yomo tonight? I guess I can." Mercy squealed with excitement. She looked up at the ceiling with content. "Our little rabbit is growing up... school huh?" She whispered to herself. Yoshimura looked at his eldest daughter in sadness. "You know it's not to lat..." He started but got interrupted. "I'll do the job old man. Just send Yomo to Uta's shop." She said with a closed eyed smile. Yoshimura sighed and smiled at her. "Enjoy your day off." He said. He turned around and looked out the window again.

Mercy was about to turn the handle but stopped. She turned with her hand still on the handle. "Hey old man?" She started. His head turned to the side. "Hmmm?" He asked, curious on what she was going to say. Mercy wanted to ask the same question she ask Uta but something made her hesitate. She shook her head. "Never mind." She smiled and left the room without another word.

(Flashback End: Anteiku)

Mercy sighed and placed her manga down and lifted her coffee to her lips. Dark espresso with Italian roasted coffee beans. Just the way Mercy liked it. She closed her eyes and moaned in content. The door jingled, indicating that another customer entered the cafe but Mercy paid it no mind and just enjoyed the moment of just drinking her coffee.

"Is it good?" Someone purred. Mercy opened her eyes half ladled and saw a girl with cat ears hat sitting across from her. Mercy lowered her coffee and looked at the stranger across from her. She had a very pale ivory white complexion. She is pretty slim for a young lady. The shape of her face is round, whereas her eyes are burgundy in color, shading from the deepest value of black to the pastel maroon, a pair of visible sharp slits in the centre like a cat. Her dark chocolate fading to maroon then bright pink tips hair that reached almost to her breast, is seen decently wavy ending with less amount on the tip, her hair placed in a one side shoulder drape look and revealing only one ear behind her thick waves.

Her outfit really impressed Mercy. A deep maroon hat with lacey black cat ears and nose and whiskers of a cat sewn on it. She also wears a pair of unique diamond studded, dangling earrings, different appearance from left to right. Left being a black cat with a miniature dark maroon furball at the end ; Right being a white fishbone with the same maroon furball however above it. Around her neck, she puts on a black rather thick collar with a silver bell that doesn't ring with a black tiny star barely noticeable imprinted on it. Her outfit a dark maroon dress slash jumpsuit that hangs by two thin straps on her shoulders, delicately designed of black lace and butterfly flaps for the lower part of the considered sleeves, looking closer, one can see black roses imprinted onto the skirt section, hidden under multiple layers of thick black laces. Along with it, she has on a dull gold chain belt with an artificial black cat tail attached to it. Then below, she wears a black seemingly see through stockings with cat ears and a cute cat face in contrasting whites, lastly, she wears a pair of black ankle length boots, dark maroon on the inside which are made to be folded to reveal the colors.

Mercy was basically checking her out shamelessly. Leaning back on her chair making sure to get every possible angle from this girl. The girl looked at her with confusion and worry for she didn't want Mercy to lean too far to the point where she fell over. Before the girls could voice her concerns Mercy leaned back in with a clunk of her chair hitting the floor. Mercy had a big smile on her face and stuck out her hand to the girls face "Mercy! Mercy Yoshimura! What is your name sweetheart." Mercy boasted, talking like a  tv show host. The girl looked at the hand and then back at the stranger that she decided to sit with. She smiled and gently took Mercy's hand.

"Juko. Juko Kuromi." She smiled.
