Now That You have The Chance

“Aha!”

’What do you mean by that? I-I don’t understand that” David, curious asked Deborah.

“You don’t need to understand that now, we’re living…right now”

“We?” Fraser chuckled.

“We don’t have time for that…right now”

“Where are we going…Deborah?’ Amanda asked.

“Look I-I might look like a psycho but I’m not following a lady who appeared from nowhere and said that she raised a ghost. Don’t you guys think?” Fraser yelled, looking at Jake and David.

“Yeah I’m talking to you both because we are the men in this stupid adventure and we don’t have to obey girls” Fraser added.

“Do whatever you like then, I’m leaving” Deb said and turned to leave but Jane rushed and held her right hand.

“Wait!”

’Fraser I think we should listen to her, she’s been in this before and we almost got killed today” Jane looked at Fraser.

’Yeah, I think so too” Amanda supported, looking at Fraser.

“Why are you not talking Jake?” Fraser looked at Jake who gave him an imperceptible shrug.

“We should listen to the other gender sometimes” He shrugged.

’We get in trouble, you pay for it but I’m not getting in any trouble” he whispered to Jake and headed out the cabin.

“I’m sorry about that, he’s….just scared of all he’s seen” David said to Deb.

“Yeah I understand, I was like that to my friend when this started and I survived” she snickered to David and left the others staring t each other.

“We better hurry up before he comes back, he’s not dead yet” He added.

Outside the cabin, Deborah, Jake, Jane, Amanda and David met Fraser sitting in the front seat of the old Volvo truck packed beside the tree where Charlie was hanged. Charlie’s body was still lying on the dirty ground.

“It’s mine” Deb chuckled as they were approaching the car.

’I’m not trekking back to wherever you are taking me” Fraser frowned.

“We’re good” Deb chuckled. David hopped to the back of the truck and helped Amanda and Jane up. They drove and headed to another destination.

Fraser looked at Deb and looked away immediately. Deb noticed and stared at him for a while.

“Are y’all friends or family?” she asked and he looked at her.

“I mean…like cousins? You know”

“We’re not”

“Then friends?”

“Yeah, school mates” he replied.

“How did you all end in this..if-I my ask?”

“It was an idea put together by all of us” Fraser replied and Deb chuckled.

“I wouldn’t have joined if I were you”

“We’re friends”

“Friends you said’ she chuckled and looked at him while controlling the steering.

“Friends kill faster than anything else, don’t you believe that?” she looked at him again and focused at the screen.

“Then why did you do it with your friends? You wasn’t the only one that raised the stupid ghost, you did it with your friends right? Why did you join them?’ Fraser asked slowly. Deb looked at him and an imperceptible smile.

“At first I didn’t regret joining them but after I happened to be the only one that survived, I regretted it. I felt like I should have rejected them at first. That’s what I mean”

“What does that mean?” he asked her slowly, staring at her.

“Wait…you think one of us will die?’

“One?” she scoffed.

“It was me and my four friends but only I survived, Charlie and her four friends all died when they fell into it and now it’s you and your four friends, do you really think it’s a joke?” Deb stared at Fraser.

“You…. I don’t know where you are driving to, wh-what do you mean by that?”

“It’s a death game kid” she added.

“So what do you think? I really need to hear the full story from you”

“No need to know about Egron. Get out of the game now you have a chance before the second hunt. It’s never too late” she said and he looked slowly at her.
