Chapter 196

Hue woke up when something buttery and toasty hit his nose. He unfurled his eyes and saw the Smell Folk dancing in mid-air. Their dance was very graceful and beautiful, unlike usual. It seemed as if they were celebrating something that was long forgotten.

He sat on the sofa and tied his long hair into a low ponytail. Yawning, he placed the bolster on the sofa bed and approached the kitchen.

Standing at the entrance, he eyed his wife, whose back faced him. She was donned in the pink apron he uses when working in the kitchen. She was placing sunny-side-up eggs on a plate.

"Honey, I thought I would be making breakfast today," he said.

Jennet turned around and smiled brightly. "I was up too early today. So, I thought of making breakfast for us since you always made it."

"Why didn't you just wake me up?" he asked.

"You were sound asleep, and I don't want to rouse you from your peaceful sleep."
