Hue noticed the tremble in her voice and the quickened pace of her heartbeat. He surmised she was affright. Then, he smiled and patted her hands gently. "Honey, you have nothing to fear. Also, your eyes never played any trick on you. You're not wrong to doubt her."
On the day of their arrival, he and Little Veen had sensed the dark air coming from Helena. But, there was also something else about her that was shocking, that he didn't notice before. However, he won't spill anything to his wife until he was certain of the finding.
"Then, is she a Fallen?" Jennet asked, getting worried.
Hue squeezed her hands. "We cannot say for sure but, Little Veen and I will keep an eye on her. As for you, just act normal as if you know nothing. Don't show your awkwardness around her. Plus, Little Veen is also playing his part in this investigation," he said softly.
"Alright..." Jennet responded. She was relieved to hear the assurance from him.
