--Floor D2--
Caesar limped into D2 with his arms raised, palms opened, and body churning with psionic energy.
When he turned the corner one thought entered his mind. 'I'm on the wrong end of the floor and I don't have the floor plans.' sighing Caesar, grit his teeth, then relaxed and let his senses run wild. Thought after thought, transmission after transmission. Powerlines, radio waves, receivers, and could track their location due to the wifi connection most of these things had.
Caesar could sense it all, interpret the marines and firebats radio transmissions, hear their every thought. Feel the computer engineers panicking in a room down the hall, and sense...the guards.... 'A guard...no guards. They must've turned on their psi-screeners. And if that's the case, I should assume the preceptors and ghosts have done the same thing. The question now becomes, are they moving toward my location? And if so, how many?
On that note, this would be a lot easier if I could activate my psionic sight. But let's say those two ghosts found me due to my active use of psionic energy, then who's to say more won't.' Thought Caesar, continuing down the hall.
If anybody were to spot him they'd see a tall nine-year-old child, whose head was twitching as he moved closer towards where he thought the server room could be.
His sprinting came to a stop as ravenous clicking began to echo throughout the hallway. His eyes darted left then right while his heart palpitated, his pupils dilated. When he peeked around the corner two three-foot-tall, four-legged insectoid-like raptors were pacing back and forth. Alongside them was Lisa guarding a room that read, floor d R&D with a rifle in hand.
Caesar's head snapped back around the corner as panic seeped into his mind from laying eyes upon the xeno-raptors.
'Shit! Those things have a hardened brown carapace covering their dark pink flesh. Two thick claws protruding from...wtf, they're also bipedal!
Claws as thick as my arm, teeth that could render my bones to dust, tusks thicker than the claws.
And what else?
Are those... they are! They are an extra pair of arms sprouting out of its back shoulder blade! And they have one massive claw attachment to each end, WHAT THE FUCK! How do I kill those things?
Okay, let's think about this in steps. First, I need to disable the xeno-raptors. Second, I need to disable Lisa's rifle... there's no onboard computing on it, so I'll have to use telekinesis. And finally, I'll need to kill Lisa.
The first task requires time, which I don't have. The second task...wait, I don't need to kill the Xeno's I just need them down long enough to deal with tasks two and three then I can kill them. But what would I do about any nearby ghosts? Huh?'
Caesar paused, his head snapped towards the right.
A distortion shimmered across the wall, causing Caesar's mouth to drop open. When it came within inches of his face. One thought crossed his mind. 'They've invented clocking.'
"Of course they did. Did you think you were the only recruit with the ability to cloak? Far from it. Hell, the scientists within this facility spent years creating this tech-based on that psionic ability. Although I'm not sure we can call that ability of yours cloaking."
Said the shimmer. Their modified voice was hidden behind a thick layer of static that echoed across the hallway, attracting Lisa and her Xenos.
The Xenos dashed around the corner, stopping within inches of Caesar's face.
Their breath racked across his skin, it smelled of dried-up blood and rotting flesh. He glanced into their mouth to spot bits of rotten flesh littered all over their yellowish-brown teeth and razor-sharp tongue. While their tusks pressed against his chest, threatening to cave it in.
His eyes turned towards the elongated arms sprouting out of its shoulder blade. They stretched just beyond his neck, with their overgrown claws threatening to cleave cleanly through it.
"So Caesar, did you do all this?" Said Lisa. Her rifle was trained upon his face. She tried to intimidate him with her confidence but her voice had a slight quiver.
Caesar's vibrant lime-green eyes and oozing psionic energy terrified her to the core.
'Oh my god, it's like being around Rishul's or Sarah's!? No. He's probably worse! Rishul's energy is reminiscent of the torrential flames deep within Tarsonis badlands. Where Sarah's is just a massive blank canvas and Caesar...was supposed to be the same. But this...this--'
"Is something humanity hasn't seen before." Said the shimmer, finishing off Lisa's thought.
Lisa glanced towards the shimmer. Nervous, afraid, and jealous. "W-w-what are you waiting for? Soldier. Arrest this recruit. I SAID A-ARREST H-HIM! OR I'LL TELL THE DIRECTOR--"
"AHAHAHAHA!" The shimmer's haloed robotic laugh echoed throughout the hallway. "You know threats only work when you aren't stammering."
Added the shimmer. They raised Caesar and Lisa thought to be a hand, then snapped a finger. Causing two more shimmers to appear around the group, their shimmered guns trained on the xeno-raptors.
Lisa began to panic, her gun snapped between Caesar's head and the first shimmer's chest. Her mouth opened but the shimmer spoke, answering her thoughts.
"No, my movements aren't being tracked. Yes, that does include my compatriots. Yes, I am reading your mind, which means your psi-screener has been disabled. Yes, your camera and com systems have also been disabled."
"Ho-" Lisa stopped, her eyes locked onto Caesar. The shimmers behind her fired, killing the Xeno-raptors.
"Almost correct." Said the shimmer, continuing to read Lisa's mind. They stepped forward, tapping Caesar on the arm. He nodded before heading to the server room, just as he left...The shimmer's body began to appear.
Lisa smirked seeing the girl's hair. It was dyed blood-red, had the sides shaved off, and was In an Asian-style bun. Her smirk turned into a sneer as she said. "Suki, you are a dumb cunt. Did you forget about the neural inhibitor? It prevents you and them from harming a superior, which is me. Would you like me to explain how? Although I doubt you'll understand it...you've always been a slow bitch."
Suki smiled ear-to-ear, laughing as she began to remove her three lensed goggles. "Ooh, you stupidly emotional cow. How did you become a preceptor? I mean seriously, ask yourself. How is Suki able to command these two ghosts? Why was Suki able to kill the Xenos? Why does Suki think she can kill me? What does Caesar want with the server room?
Like seriously Lisa. I expected more from you…no wonder you failed to become a ghost. Oh well, boys kill her."
*BANG!*
The boys fired and Lisa dropped dead. Suki sighed before turning to the server room. She paused, her head snapped back to the two ghosts. "I order you to kill each other after waiting ten seconds."
*BANG!*
*BANG!*
---------------
Caesar: 'And you say I'm dramatic.'
Suki: 'I never said I wasn't dramatic, I've only said that you were.'
Caesar: 'You're a bad influence, you know that.'
Suki: 'Say's the murderous 9-year-old.'
Caesar: 'Say's the teacher with a fake limp.'
Suki: 'Just hurry up, we still need to raid the research and development room. Oh, and don't forget about the alpha-wave projects! Psionic dampeners imparticular! They should be labeled Neuro-adjuster.'
Caesar: 'I know, I know. Stop nagging me.'
Suki: 'What'd you say?'
Caesar: 'Nothing.'
