Chapter 5 - Getting accustomed

"Rei Leythur, you have passed." Melinda stated.

I smirk, turning back to Rosalind.

"You're aren't looking so good. Maybe try again again in a couple of weeks." I cross my arms, smiling smugly.

Rosalind looked up at me one last time with defeat before falling unconscious. It's a good thing I held back, or she might have actually died. I walk back into the crowd, a nurse coming out and carrying Rosalind back inside.

There was nothing else interesting to note, well, at least to me. Well, moving on, the noobs who managed to pass were taken inside and each given their own rooms. At least I can have some privacy when experimenting with magic!

I entered my room, a cozy space with a comfortable bed, a desk by the window, and a wooden chair in the corner. The pale blue walls created a serene ambiance, and the room had tasteful decor and natural lighting. Meh. It's alright, I guess.

"I'm bored again...oh! I know what I should do!"

I still have experiments to do with Life Magic! Ah, wait. I don't have any sculptures with me. They're all at home. Hm....

[Earth Magic + Water Magic + Fire Magic] =

[Clay Magic]

Harnessing the power of diverse elemental spells, I merged them together, creating a lump of Clay in front of me.

"Alright, this can work just as well!"

Using the Clay I had created, I started sculpting a doll, shaping it to match the size of my arm. Focused, I meticulously molded and refined the features until, after about an hour, I completed the doll.

This was the final piece. I raised my hand over the doll, gathering mana.

[Life Magic]

Nothing happened. I waited for a couple of more seconds, but still nothing happened.

"I don't understand...why did that sculpture turn alive, but this one isn't? Is it because it has a physically impossible body?"

I pondered for a few seconds before getting the idea to pour mana into the doll. I pour in all my mana since I could just regenerate it back all anyway. However, still nothing happened. I'm a bit disappointed, but I guess I'll call this experiment a failure.

Suddenly, a voice resonated throughout the entire academy.

[Students, please come down to the auditorium.]

Seems like I've got to go for now. I stand up, walking out of the room and making my way towards the auditorium. I eventually reach the auditorium, walking inside.

"Fortunately, it seems I've made it right on time."

Melinda ascended the stage once more, probably to give another speech. Her presence commanded attention, and the room grew silent. It was clear that her words held significance, drawing the crowd's focus.

"Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and most importantly, our exceptional candidates,

Today, we gather here to celebrate the remarkable achievements of those who have successfully passed our rigorous exam. It is with great pleasure and pride that I stand before you to recognize the exceptional talent and dedication demonstrated by each and every one of our candidates.

From the first moment you embarked on this path, you embraced the unknown with courage and determination. You embraced the essence of growth and transformation, overcoming obstacles that would have daunted many others. In the face of adversity, you showed strength, adaptability, and an unwavering belief in your own abilities.

The crowd shouts and claps in excitement. Does that mean my parents are here, too?

[Clairvoyance]

Ah. They are here. Shit, I just remembered I didn't take the carriage! To them, it's like I went missing! I should just stay out of sight for now and resolve this later.

"And we also have an award for the top scorer on the exam, Rei Leythur. Please step up onto the stage!"

....I'm screwed.

Reluctantly, I step up onto the stage, feeling nervous as I can feel my parents and sister's glares burning into me. Melinda pulls put a golden trophy, handing it to me. The trophy is cool and all, but it will not save me from the nagging I'm going to get. You know what! Whatever! I'm just going to enjoy the moment.

"Rei, is there anything you wish to say to your fellow peers?"

"Hm? Yeah, I do, in fact."

I clear my throat.

"Get good scrubs"
