Second Antidote

A middle-aged man helped Troye lay Fablo on the bed of Nana Seling's room. He's one of the people who helped Seling rescue the three. They are all worried for Fablo because he's still screaming in pain and is still continuously bleeding.

"Fxck," Fablo cursed while struggling in the bed.

"Why don't we bring him to the hospital?" Dazaree asked. They are all panicking but NAna Seling remains calm.

"We can't," Nana Seling replied and shook her head.

Troye remained quiet although he was panicking inside.

"But why?" Dazaree asked her.

Nana Seling heaved a long sigh and answered, "They can't heal him. This is out of human's ability."

"So we'll just let him like that?" Troye queried and sat on the sofa near the bed while his knees were trembling.

Fablo's legs are changing color to violet because of the poison that is slowly spreading.

Nana Seling turned around and opened a briefcase that the man was holding now. She took a syringe containing a clear liquid.

"This will help him stop the poison from spreading throughout his body," she said, taking the attention of the two.

"What is that?" Dazaree questioned.

"It's an antidote," she replied.

Troye stood up confused. "Why do you have an antidote?" He's been curious why the woman came as if she knows what is happening on the rooftop. And now she has an antidote for the poison?

Nana Seling looked away as if she's hiding something then gulped. "Just trust me," she told them and went beside Fablo.

Dazaree and Troye exchange gazes as they couldn't do anything but trust her despite having tons of questions for the woman. They both know that she's kind but they are also sure that she's hiding something, after all, she doesn't seem surprised about the events.

She didn't even ask about the man on the rooftop and what just happened back there. Nana Seling remained calm and put on white gloves in both her hands.

Dazaree and Troye just watched her inject the antidote into Fablo's wounded legs.

"This will eliminate the acid and stop the poison from spreading for a while but then eventually it will slowly continue to spread again," she explained.

"Then you are saying he's still not safe?" Troye asked.

Nana Seling turned around and then put the syringe back to the briefcase before removing her gloves. The man closed the case and then said, "I'll go ahead, ma'am."

She nodded at him and put the gloves inside her pocket before turning to Troye and Dazaree.

"Yes. The antidote will just take effect for a week. Until then, you have the time to find the second antidote that will make him immune to the poison completely," she replied.

Dazaree frowned and looked at Troye before speaking. "There is another antidote?"

"Yes, if I remember it right but I do not know where it is kept," Nana Seling sighed.

"We will find it no matter what happens," Troye said firmly and gazed at Fablo who's now lost consciousness. He's gone weaker but at least, the pain gradually stopped because the acid is eliminated by the antidote. But he fell asleep because the pain drained his energy.

"You have to," Nana Seling said in a serious tone. "Because if you don't, he will die."

Their heartbeat beat faster when Nana Seling said that. They couldn't imagine Fablo dying, especially Troye because he's like a brother to him.

"But how do we look for it?" Dazaree questioned her. "Where do we start?"

Nana Seling walked to her vanity and took something inside her drawer. It's a long brown envelope inside a plastic bag. She looked at both of them before opening the envelope.

"This contains my research about the poison and acid that is inside Fablo. It also contains the identity of the person who created it. Her name is Penelope Hundrel," she stated and handed them a piece of paper.

Troye took it and saw several photos of a woman in a business suit. There are photos in which she's wearing a lab gown. It says that the woman is in her 40s yet she's still stunning and looking really young and gorgeous in her photos.

"She owns a laboratory?" Dazaree blurted out.

"Yes and you'd be surprised because it's actually very near to us," Nana Seling said. "Her laboratory isn't known so the public and government do not notice it. It's just known for research for creating medicines but I feel like there is more to it that's why I put an undercover agent there to investigate for me," she explained and sat on a single couch.

"Did you find something?" Dazaree curiously asked.

She looked at Fablo and then continued while Troye was reading the contents of the file.

"We didn't get anything except for the sample of poison and acid that my agent found in the laboratory. This Penelope Hundrel is one step ahead of me that she didn't trust my agent. Just after sending me the information about the poison, I wasn't able to contact him again. I think he's killed." Nana Seling's face became serious. "She is a very intelligent woman."

Dazaree suddenly felt scared because of what Seling said. "And this person that you are talking about must be the person who sent the man… Am I right?" She gulped when Nana Seling slowly nodded.

"That's right. She's after you," Seling answered.

"B-but why?"

"That's something we'll find out," Selling assured her.

After reading, Troye looked at her. "How did you know that there is a second antidote?"

"Alright, let me explain it. When I found out about the poison, at first I thought it was only an acid. Then I met a friend that helped me create the antidote. Her name is Lunari, someone who works for Hundrel. She was able to create an antidote that eliminates the acid and slows the poison which is the one we used for Fablo," she paused and looked at Fablo again.

"She told me that it's just temporary but she assured me that she will ask someone for help which is Leandro Del Valle," she continued and gave Dazaree a meaningful stare.

Slowly, Dazaree's eyes dilated when she realized what the woman said.

"My dad?"
