Pharis can't help but be irritated by the guy. It's not her fault that her mother is this way. She, too, wished to put an end to this. The children began to cry all of a sudden. They thought they wouldn't be able to get out of here.
The children have never been outside of the structure. They've never seen the outside world's beauty. They had only known pain their entire lives, both mentally and physically. Hundrel robbed them of their liberty, and she does not deserve to live. Pharis doesn't care if she's her mother or not. Whatever happens, she must put an end to this.
"Brother Kiel..." cried the youngest girl as she looked at the man. Kiel… He's already forgotten that name. That's the name he inherited from his late parents. Deviant has now stripped him of his identity and assigned him the code name F1301. He is no longer Kiel, but F1301 whom they have transformed into a monster. A killing machine capable of killing hundreds of people.
He's given up hope, but he's not going to give up on getting his revenge before he dies. He, too, intends to flee with the children and others.
"Could you please stop being pathetic right now?" Pharis couldn't hide her annoyance, so she said. "It's extremely irritating." It's like poison, and it's probably going to make her want to burn down the entire place. Because the room is made of metal, they'd all be dead meat before she could even set fire to it.
Kiel clenched his teeth, and the kids stopped crying. "That's because it hasn't happened to you! You have no idea how we feel!" he yelled as he throbbing pain in his chest.
All of the pain he had felt over the previous five years kept flashing back to him. From the agony of losing his first friend to the misery of losing his last friend as a result of Deviant's inhuman experiments. The children here are his only family. In fact, there are still other children in different rooms, but they have no idea where they are. They have no idea what has happened to them.
Pharis sighed deeply and said, "You are not the only one who has lost a family member. So stop acting like a child and help me find a way out of here. Then we'll exact our vengeance, and you can weep all you want."
The memories of her father flashed in her head. It breaks her heart to think about it that is why she immediately washed it away.
She can't let anyone see her weak side.
Kiel was immediately aware of this and averted his gaze. "However, you don't have the right to invalidate someone else's feelings simply because you can bear your own," he said. He realized that he might be being unreasonable. This woman in front of him may appear strong, but she is actually dead on the inside. He let out a long sigh. He had previously learned from the scientists that this girl is critical to the success of their project. He returned his gaze to Pharis.
He knows that Penelope wanted to obtain power through her human subjects but she hasn't succeeded yet because her subjects always fail and die. For some reason, his body is still taking it all but he knows that it won't be for long.
He looks at the kids and frustratedly brushed his hair. He must do something so that the same thing won't happen to them. Kiel stared at Pharis again. If she's the key, then she must be destroyed so Penelope's plan won't succeed.
Meanwhile, Pharis is thinking of a way to make the staffs release them. She suddenly remembered her aunt Luna. She's her dad's friend and is working for her mom. The woman is very kind to her and has always been there for her and her dad since then. She wanted to hope that Luna will help her but at the same time, she doesn't want to. Pharis doesn't want to put her life in danger.
Now that she thinks about it, the fact that her aunt Luna works here indicates that she was aware of what her mother was doing all along. She doesn't want to pass judgment on the woman, but she still wants to see her and ask her directly.
Pharis hopes Luna is unaware of this and did not participate in this heinous crime.
"Do they go here personally to give you food?" Pharis abruptly asked.
The young boy shocked his head. He pointed to every bottom corner walls of their cages. Pharis looked at it carefully and noticed a square-shaped line.
"That is where they dispense our own meals. They avoid contact with us as much as possible after we've gone through tests and experiments. Now they are watching us here to check the reaction of our body," the boy explained.
These cages don't have anything but a food dispenser. They don't have beds so they have no choice but to sleep on the cold metal floor. Pharis couldn't help but pity them and "Tch" because of it. Her anger towards her mom is fueling up.
"So there is no way that they'll go here?" she queried.
"It depends if they want to do another experiment with us or they want to test something again," the boy sadly answered. "We can only go out forty-eight hours to bath."
Pharis face lit up because of what the boy said. "Then we have a chance to get out," she spoke and grinned.
"If it's that easy, then we should've escaped a long time ago," Kiel crossed his arms.
Pharis leered at him and spoke, "That's because you're weak," annoying Kiel.
"What did you say?" he growled and grabbed the iron bars in front of him that widened Pharis's smile.
She moved a step forward and stared at him in the eyes. "I said. You. Are. Weak," She said, emphasizing every word.
"Once I get out of here, I'll kill you," he snarled again.
Pharis chuckled, "Okay! sure."
Kiel doesn't like it when people look down on him and don't really know how to converse properly. He glared at her and tried to think. He doesn't want to be like Hundrel who's killing innocent people ruthlessly but he has to do it in order to stop their evil plans.
On the other hand, Pharis thought that she shouldn't carelessly speak anything because there is a high chance that they are listening to them too. She'll have to plan things carefully. She'll have to observe things, for now, to come up with a concrete plan.
She looked at the surveillance camera. Pharis knows that her mom is watching her every move. Penelope wouldn't let her slip away just like that. Escaping will be a really hard task.
If these kids aren't just with her, she would've burned the whole place.
Meanwhile, as Penelope watch her daughter through the screen, she couldn't figure out what her daughter thinks when she looked at the camera. She couldn't help but get serious. Pharis is an intelligent girl. She knows that her daughter will not stop until she finds a way to escape.
She needs to do something to tame her daughter.
Penelope smiled when an idea popped into her head. She took her phone inside her drawer and dialed a number. It didn't take long for the other line to answer her call.
She grinned and rest her back on her swivel chair and said, "Hello, Luna. Come here to my office. There is something I want you to do."
