Chapter 45: Onwards to D.C!
As the convoy pushed forward, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the desolate landscape. They had managed to escape the goblin ambush and the terrifying mutant, but the tension still hung thick in the air. The thought of what lay ahead weighed heavily on everyone's minds. The road to D.C. was treacherous, and they knew the closer they got, the worse it would become.
After a few more hours of travel, General Conners radioed in to George. "We'll make camp here for the night. We've covered enough ground for now, but we need to rest. Tomorrow will be harder."
George nodded, even though the general couldn't see him. "Agreed. We need everyone sharp."
