Chapter 2: The Huge Problem
The mansion had become a fortress, but George knew it wouldn't hold forever. The mutated beasts outside were growing bolder by the second. The first wolf beast was already dead, but the others moved with alarming coordination, circling the mansion like predators, their glowing eyes flickering in the shadows.
Raven stood beside him, her katana gleaming with the blood of the downed wolf beast, her breathing steady, calm. Lucy, on the other hand, looked like she was ready to explode with nervous energy, her finger tapping against the trigger of her shotgun.
"Here they come," she muttered, her voice low and tense.
The second wolf beast charged forward, barreling through the snow with terrifying speed. George aimed his rifle and fired off a shot, hitting the beast square in the chest. The creature barely flinched.
