35. An Endless Fight

Picture something for me. Imagine a genius. A person that could literally do anything with no effort at all. Someone who whatever you try to do, you can just never amount to, someone you can just never even compare to. Good? If not, just imagine your cousin.

And that, is the 9th King, Iruka. The genius of everything. One who has given up his life for the sole reason of having no more reasons to live such an easy adventure. To him life wasn't an opportunity to live, to him, life was a punishment to test his patience.

So then when a person who would eventually defeat him, it will truly be the highlight of his life.

***

Let us get a mark here. Tries: 1. I bet a million.

"What?"

Arthur at his first try had achieved a lot of different abilities that it has actually started to seem like a power fantasy.

But in a power fantasy there should be an interesting fight. But sorry to disappoint you, all this will be easy deaths and an easy kill.

At his first try.

[Pseudo-Dragon Speed Has Been Activated]

[Gone Has Been Activated]

[Perfect Movement Has Been Activated]

Arthur raised the level of the skills he previously got and prioritized one skill. The [Perfect Movement]

[Perfect Movement][Lv. 3]

With all his necessary skills activated leaving out the sword style, he struck.

But this time he already new what The 9th King would do.

'Heaven's Grasp'

As the 9th King parried his sword Arthur appeared instantly behind the 9th King. The 9th king already lost his left hand and had no weapon on his other one. 'It was that easy?'.

Well not really. By catching the 9th King off guard and cutting his right wrist off Arthur surely had an advantage.

But he should never disregard what he learned before in his first fight. The 9th King adapts.

As the 9th King was caught off guard two times in a row. He was now fighting a person with immeasurable speed even though he couldn't keep up with. Now that he lost his left hand he couldn't use it anymore. At the same time his sword was already broken.

The goblin was also behind him. In the split second the 9th King thought of all of this.

But he had a simple counter measure making it all ok. He already lost his left wrist, losing his entire arm was of no problem.

The 9th King turned counter clockwise on his point of view and blocked the incoming sword with his left arm.

As he lost it, The 9th King grabbed his broken sword.

With the amount of blood he was losing he was going to die, so he just had to stop it himself by pressing his left arm muscles as hard as he could to stop blood flow.

Then the goblin dashed straight to him. He kept parrying the goblin with as much precision as possible. He was also at the same time gaining multiple small injuries like he was hugging a cactus.

But he could still handle it, and with time he got used to it and his body got used to it. He adapted, and thanks to the goblin he was improving.

He was actually starting to praise the goblin from his wonderful swordsmanship that the 9th King gained enlightenment and rather than copying the sword style, he improved it.

The 9th King is a monster, a monster that is way too much of a genius that if let alone could grow larger than the world "Darin".

So the 9th King got faster and faster till the goblin couldn't keep up anymore. His injuries healed and his left arm closed.

From fighting with an injury to keep check into, compared to now, he could easily kill this goblin.

"Thank you for helping me improve." He bowed at the decapitated head.

[You Have Died]

"Fuck! But that was an improvement. For a first try I was able to cut his arm whole. But still he is way too good. He adapts and learns way too fast."

To win against the 9th King there was only one word to describe what is needed to win. "Perfection".

And there is only one way to achieve such a thing. "I have to remember his pattern and keep predicting it."

"Oh... And I forgot to pass through him again, I guess this time i'll do that one epic fighting scene with just myself and no need for another person."

Tries: 2nd.

Arthur has successfully cut off the 9th Kings arm. Then headed to not budge and be pushed back, rather he aimed at the sword that was on the ground to stop the 9th king from grabbing it.

The 9th King raised his leg and sacrificed it to get the sword. Now with just one leg his balance would be off giving him a huge disadvantage.

Well that is if he was any other person. The 9th king doesn't follow the rule of common sense.

The 9th parried every strike of Arthur. And this time with more injuries at hand and more things to get used to. It seems like other than the goal to make him weaker.

Arthur was noticing that he was actually just getting better faster. His wounds healed earlier than it was the first try.

'Are you telling me because I doubled the blood loss it made him heal twice faster? What in the fuck!"

The 9th King was not even hindered by being one legged after a while. Even if Arthur tried to aim at the leg or teleport behind the 9th King could just match his speed by staying at one place and with one leg he could just turn in any direction with ease.

The 9th King's disadvantage has become his own disadvantage.

[You Have Died]

"This time i'll actually memorize, ok, 2 limbs, i'm making progress, just one more and he is done for. It doesn't matter how ridiculous it is"

Tries: 3

With a hope for a win this time, Arthur would soon realize it would be harder than he thought.

[You Have Died]

"Ok so maybe a second sword!"

Tries: 4

It was quite a brilliant idea to fight a one hand, one leg man with 2 swords. But sadly Arthur was actually never experienced with using two swords. So based on fighting experience even he couldn't win it.

And worse, was that the Sword King was never meant for two swords, so Arthur was just mindlessly swinging.

[You Have Died]

Tries: 5

Arthur gave up on the idea of the 2 swords for now. But soon he may come back.

As Arthur cut off the leg of the 9th King he didn't give him a breather and charged at the 9th king as soon as he cut his legs.

And placed all his strengths to attack.

With his first charge going through him and attack behind then go through him again, then repeat.

That was Arthur's plan. But just switching positions with actual no plan to attack was a real bad plan.

Arthur has still yet to realize the capabilities of the 9th King.

With his back and forth, the 9th King just got better at decision making and realized that Arthur could only ever phase through and his movement was utterly predictable.

And with the need for speed the 9th King just got faster and faster.

But Arthur was almost untouchable as he would just disappear as soon as you touch even a tip of his sword.

So for the record this try was the fastest Arthur has gotten yet.

But in the end he just made the 9th King so fast he could move faster than Arthur could even think.

[You Have Died]

Tries: 6

Arthur came back on the ideo of the 2 swords.

This time just trying his best to predict the 9th Kings movement.

So this point on, he died multiple times.

Tries: 7

And for another measuring sake let us put the time he lasts in the fight.

[You Have Died]

Time: 1:30 minutes

Tries: 8

Time: 2:00 minutes

Tries:9

Time: 2:15 minutes

...

Tries: 21

Time: 4:05 minuts

...

Tries: 45

With just the adreneline of fighting and the enjoyment of predicting the movement of the enemy and utilizing his new skill perfect for repeating movement.

Arthur was not realizing that what he was doing was in the end... just pointless.

Time: 7:08 minutes

Tries: 60

And it was only in the 60th try that Arthur realized his mistake. If he just kept on attacking the 9th King with the most perfect attacks.

If what the 9th Kings ability truly what he thought of, he would just be stuck in an endless fight where the 9th King would always just get better.

And the fight will never actually end.

So for the next try Arthur threw everything he has done and came up with just only possible action.

What he needed wasn't a perfect exchange. But a perfect and beautiful fast kill.

Time: 10:00 minutes

Tries: 61

And now we are back at the start. With his two swords. Arthur as when the 9th King backs off after getting his sword and losing his leg.

Arthur aimed his left hand to distract the sword and and aim the other one at the opposite end.

That didn't kill him him either as the 9th King is insane enough to touch the sword itself to change it's direction as fast as possible.

But this time instead of continueing the fight, Arthur stopped and restarted.

This time, it wasn't to fight the 9th King, it was to kill him as fast as possible.

...

Tries: 931

After an immense amount of trial and error Arthur has done it.

Time: 1:23 minute

"Finally..."

Arthur sat on the ground and sighed. He was finally free. His head hurts from thinking way to much. To even at times forgetting the things he had already tried.

But resting wasn't something he would be doing right now.

As a system prompt made him smile.
