His mother, seeing his act, believed him and started to laugh.
"Shouldn't you have told your father?" Asked his mother while having a smile on her face. She did not want to hide anything from Steffon, the man was her husband after all, and she loved him.
"Well, he is a grown-up man. He could take it. You still have your beauty to take care of." Said Edward with a teasing smile. Of course, he would not let her tell Steffon. That would blow up the whole plan. That was why he had to tell her that in such a joking manner.
After discussing for some time, they ended their conversation. Cassana headed to her room to prepare her luggage. They had a long trip the next day. She also had to keep the matter secret from Steffon, so she had to sleep early that night.
The time passed quickly, and it was the next day already. Edward and Cassana gathered their luggage and put it in one of the two carriages. Cassana would ride on the other one while Edward would be riding on his horse. Edward would ride the carriage, occasionally, to talk with his mother. One of the thirty-seven men would hold his horse for him.
From the fifty men that Edward took with him when he left the Eyrie, six were dead while the other seven were poisoned and needed to remain in Storm's End to recover. That was why only thirty-seven men would travel with Edward. The rest of his first one-thousand men were in the Eyrie, training as always. The one thousand newbies he recruited when Steffon appointed him as the Heir to Storm's End were still training in Storm's End. Edward put them under two of the commanders under him, Jon Clinn and Mace Flip. They were responsible for this unit's training. These newbies still had at least three years to be on the same level as his first men.
On their way outside the gate of Storm's End, Edward climbed on the carriage to see his mother. When he entered, he saw his mother enjoying herself while eating a fine red grape and holding red wine with the other hand. She was talking with one of her maidservants. When Edward entered, they stopped talking, and Cassana looked at him with a smile.
"Well, I see you are already enjoying yourself, mother." Said Edward while looking at his mother with an amused look.
"It had been a long time since I was on vacation. So, of course, I am gonna enjoy myself. How about you? Haven't you found a girl to marry? I want to see my grandchildren before I am too old." Said Cassana trying to tease Edward. But the truth was she really wanted Edward to marry so that she could see her grandchildren.
"Cough, cough. Aren't you gonna ask me where we're going?" Said Edward, trying to change the subject.
'Hell no, I will enjoy myself with different women before thinking of marrying. I am still fifteen and will turn sixteen after two months.' Thought Edward to himself while remembering the F-cups lady. He took a note to visit her when they reach the Eyrie.
"Well then, Spell it out." Said Cassana, knowing her son won't listen to her.
"We are going to Felwood first. From there, we will go to Fawnton and then took our way on the Roseroad to reach King's Landing. Then we will be on our way to Harrenhal, then The Eyrie. After meeting with Lord Arryn and spending some time there, we will visit the north to meet your in-laws, The Starks. What do you think?" Said Edward while holding a map showing Cassana their journey's path.
He was planning for more than a vacation. He was going to check two of the houses that decided to stand on The Iron Throne's side and betrayed Robert at the time of his rebellion. He wanted to know everything about them by himself. He didn't trust any outsiders news and his men were soldiers, not informants, and until he built his information-gathering organization when he became Lord. He would have to depend on what he saw with his own eyes and the description of his men, plus they were on his way.
He also was planning to visit King's Landing without announcing his visit so he could study it on his way.
As for Harrenhal, Edward wanted to see the castle. He also wanted to check on House Whent.
For the Eyrie, It was easy to guess. You all might have already guessed why he would take his mother there. Of course, It was to visit the F-cups Lady.
After spending some time with her, he would take his mother to the north.
"What are you planning, young man?" Asked Cassana. Knowing her son's character, she knew he wasn't visiting these places without reason.
"Nothing." Said Edward, trying to look innocent, but the sly look on his face gave him away at an instance.
Seeing his dishonest look, Cassana grasped his ear, pulled him towards her, and scolded him. The maidservants, seeing their Young Lord's look, started giggling.
Knowing her son was not going to tell her his plans, Cassana let go of his ear. She started enjoying herself again while talking with Edward.
In a small but strong castle located on a lofty crag jutting out from the shores of Cape's Wrath. The castle lies surrounded by red stone cliffs on three sides, which descend into the stormy waters of Shipbreaker Bay. This castle was Griffen's Roost. The land-facing approach is a long natural ridge called the griffin's throat. The entrance to the griffin's throat is guarded on one end by a gatehouse, and by the castle's main gate and two round towers on the other end. In the main hall of the castle, Armond Connington was Welcoming the arrival of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Rhaeger was on his to King's Landing from Dorne when he stopped by Griffon's Roost. When Armond heard the news, he rushed to welcome the prince with his son, Jon Connington.
After welcoming the prince and his escort, he took Rhaegar to his study to talk with him. Armond was an ambitious man and wanted to forge a good relationship with the prince. He wanted to seek his help against his rival House Morrigen's of Crow's Nest. As the Lord paramount of Stormslands, Steffon, didn't help him. Instead, Steffon stood with his rival against him.
"Come on, Your grace. please, have a seat." Said Armont, trying to kiss the prince's ass.
