Ch 11 : Prelude to the storm

Seth took the bus and went to the address indicated on the map given by his boss.

The address was not that far, he could reach it by traveling half an hour with the bus. The address was at a mercenary settlement outside the base.

In fact, many mercenaries didn't always go back to the base. They usually stay on those settlements was cheap, near their hunting ground, and the trade was less restricted than in the bases.

Seth toured around the settlements and saw many mercenaries were going in and out of the settlements. The settlements were quite packed and there were many mercenaries shouting and advertising their products.

Of course, Seth didn't try to attract any attention. He walked quietly and steadily went to the shop indicated on the maps.

"Rustle rustle"

Seth keeps walking in the direction indicated on the map. But when he arrived, it seems there was some commotion in the shop.

" ******, how could all those cheap products be that expensive! YOU ARE A SCAMMER!!!!!"

A group of bald people was seen arguing with the person standing behind the counter.

Curiosity filled Seth's mind and he went closer to the shop.

"Mr. mercenaries please, all the goods in our shop is a top-quality product. They were made by the best of artisans and would certainly be able to help you in your hunt. The life of a mercenary is priceless right, good equipment would certainly protect the life of a mercenary in a dangerous hunt, so the price of the products are quite reasonable."

The explanation of the shop clerk clearly wasn't able to convince those bald mercenaries. They were about to cause more ruckus when they saw some dangerous glint in the eyes of the shop clerk.

"Bah, let's go. This rundown shop isn't worthy of our attention. Let's just told the other mercenaries that this shop is a scam."

The group of bald mercenaries cusses towards the shop clerk once more before finally leaving the shop.

Seeing the commotion ended, Seth went inside the shop and greets the shop clerk.

"Excuse me, I was told that I could sell some of the mutated beast's materials here."

The shop clerk eye up Seth from top to bottom, and with an unconcerned expression, he immediately said

"Sorry, we are not doing that business here. I don't know from where you heard that we do buy things here, but one thing I'm sure off, that person can just ****-off."

Seth couldn't help being speechless seeing the response of the shop clerk.

'This shop was recommended by the boss, it should not be a scam right?'

Taking a step back won't work, this was the only hope Seth has for making fast money. Without any consideration, Seth immediately takes out the piece of paper handed by the boss.

"Here, I was told to go to this place if I want to sell some mutated beasts part."

The Shop clerk furrowed his eyebrows. What kind of a bad day he has today.

From the stupid bald head mercenary group, now there was this unreasonable kid who said that he wants to sell some mutated beast materials.

If it is not for the reputation of the shop, he would gladly kick this kid out and give him some lessons.

"Hey kid, listen! I don't care about whoever has told you about this shop and told you to do business here. Even if the one who gives you this paper comes personally, I would gladly tell her to...."

The shop clerk was just about to finish his words. But when he looked at the paper, his words suddenly fall.

"Kid, tell me, The one who gives you this paper. Is she a beautiful woman around her 25 and has a weird temperament that somehow makes your spines shiver every time you saw her ?"

"I don't know about the shivering part, but the first half is true. She said that I only need to hand you this paper to be able to sell the mutated beast part here."

Seth noticed the weird atmosphere of the shop clerk and immediately take out the mutated beast part.

"Ha... Ha... Ha...."

The shop clerk's face grew paler as every second passed.

"Brother, this mutated beast part. I will give you 500, no 1000 union dollars. Please just kept secret what I have said from that woman."

Seth couldn't care less at the weirdness of the shop clerk. All he wanted today was just quickly finish this business and went home to treat his sister with some meals.

Seth nodded his head and the selling process was straightaway done. The shop clerk didn't even check the materials and just handed Seth 1000 union dollars.

Finishing his business, Seth immediately says goodbye to the shop clerk. He took the bus home with a joyful expression. His gain today was a lot more than what he has expected.

1 hour later, Seth arrived at his home, he was still walking happily. However, his face instantly froze when he noticed the fancy car parked in front of his house.

He got a bad feeling about this. Without much thought, Seth accelerated to the inside of his house.

There, he saw her sister was crying while surrounded by a pair of middle-aged couples.
