"Let's run ! It's evolving !!"

Suddenly the platform where all the examinees were spectating on the video became extremely loud, Sam's words were like a bomb.

"What is evolving ?"

"The beast? That can't be true !"

"Will it become a grade three beast?"

In a second the two people on the screen together with the camerawoman started running away and nobody could believe what they saw, was it really evolving into a grade three beast?

Then they saw the scene where Sam said he would fight the beast alone to gain some time for Ella and Edward and the few people around Sam who had recognized him looked at him incredulously.

They realized that since Sam was alive that meant the beast had died, they were all wondering how the video was going to end. Everybody felt their blood boiling, they had seen videos of strong beasts on the Uninet but never had it happened so close to them, this was the footage of another examinee ! How could they not feel excited ?

Soon Sam was jumping on the spot while waiting for the beast, as soon as the beast appeared it aimed for Sam's throat and misses him by a hair ! The air in the scene became extremely heavy as some people couldn't bear to see that young man killed and they closed their eyes.

After dodging one Sam started hitting back at the beast, each attack of the beast was barely dodged and Sam kept his life but it was followed by a powerful hit on the beast's neck, soon it was completely scorched as if it had been barbecued and Ella helped Sam finish the beast.

The video ended there, none of the examinees could believe what they just saw.

"Isn't he an evolver ? Why is he wearing the uniform of the examinees ?"

"Come on you saw as well as me that he's not an evolver, this guy is just too good at predicting and dodging !"

"That's what I call a genius !"

Sam who heard the compliments in the commotion felt a little bit embarrassed, he wasn't the one who fought that well but it was Mechy. He was also wondering what good showing this video to all these guys would do.

"Sam, ranked first with 48 grade one and 1 grade three beast core !"

Even thought he was feeling completely shy and awkward Sam still had to slowly walk up the stage with his crutch helping him, his legs had recovered enough for him to stand up but he still felt weak when walking.

"He's the guy ?"

"Yeah yeah look at him, he must have exhausted his body during that fight."

"That's understandable, that was a grade three beast after all !"

Then the general continued:

"This year for the first time in the history of planet Moryl we have our own genius who can be compared with the best in the star system so we decided we will give a shot to the Universal Olympics !"

Sam stopped on the steps and looked at the general flabbergasted.

'Did I hear that right ?'

[That's a good opportunity, the rewards are rather generous if you can do well.]

Mechy who had access to all the informations on the Uninet did it's researches in a flash and gave it's opinion to Sam.

'The issue is that a single skill won't be helpful there ! You were the one fighting the grade three beast not me, I will embarrass myself in front of million of people.'

[Don't worry everything can be taught, all you need is to complete some missions and the rewards will flow in naturally.]

'It seemed like you could predict the midnight cat's moves in advance, can that be taught too ?'

[Of course, I used my fast thinking to do it but you can do it using a skill: Premonition eye.]

'You better get me strong soon Mechy, I don't want to embarrass myself that badly.'

As soon as Sam was standing behind the general he heard a voice from his side, it was a pretty girly voice but it sounded cold and aloof which made it annoying to hear:

"You were lucky, I don't believe you can hunt a grade three beast when all you can do is 48 grade one beasts in 7 days."

Of course Sam didn't care about what she thought and just smiled lightly at her and ignored her remarks, he had bigger plans than planet Moryl or the 872th Star system.

He had seen the outside world and he knew that planet Moryl was just like a kindergarten compared to Central which was his objective but before that he would need all the possible ressources to make his strength grow!

"Very well, the 100 behind me are now officially members of the Elite corps. Dismissed !"

As soon as the general said that everybody went their way, the non admitted left the training grounds with their heads lowered, the admitted gathered in groups to celebrate while the elite corps all left towards their own rooms, talent alone wasn't enough to make it on this stage, you also needed courage and hard work which these people had and most of them didn't want to lose any time celebrating and left to do their stuff.

When Sam was about to walk towards Edward he heard the voice of the general calling him:

"Soldier Sam, follow me."

He just smiled apologetically to Edward who was walking towards him and went after the general, an order was an order for a soldier like him. Edward also smiled wryly and waved at him, he thought it was finally time to get answers but it seemed like now wasn't the right time.

The general took Sam in a small one floor building in the camp and after going past some offices walked in a room that looked like the general's personal office, he gestured Sam to sit and took a sit in front of him.

"Would you like a drink ?"

"I'm good thank you general."

"I see, do you know why I called you here ?"

"Because of the universal olympics ?"

Sam was curious, he thought that if someone was to explain to him that event then it definitely wouldn't be the general himself who was busy all day long with military affairs, compared to other planets who had different countries planet Moryl was completely unified and all 3 billion habitants were citizens of Moryl so General Wade who was the top authority in the military definitely had better things to do !

"That's not it, we did a thorough research on your background and there are some weird things I need clarification about. We wouldn't want to have a spy in our ranks you see, so would you mind answering me truthfully?"
