Chapter 60 – Office Work

 Meanwhile, Tohru, Kyo, Yuki, and Handa had just arrived home at Shigure's house from grocery shopping, only to see that Emiko was only one there. 

 "Oh, welcome back, guys," Emiko greeted meekly. 

 "Where's Shigure-san and Masa-kun?" Tohru asked. 

 "He went to a job interview." 

 "Eh? I thought he already had a part-time job." 

 "It's another one, Tohru-chan." 

 "Wow, what job it was?" Kyo asked. 

To that Emiko thinks for a while, trying to remember her older brother's new part-time job.

 At the same time, after that successful job interview, Masayuki and Shigure bid farewell to Mitsu and said thank you to her for everything, before leaving back to Shigure's house. Along the way, Masayuki said to Shigure, "Hey, Shigure-san, thanks for everything." 

 "Yeah, you're welcome, my child," Shigure responded back nicely. "I'm happy to help." 

This follows with a silence as they kept on walking.

 Later, at 5:45 p.m., the pair arrived at Shigure's house, with Masayuki opening the door. "We're home." 

Upon hearing that, Tohru and the others looked at him and Shigure. 

 "Oh, welcome back home, Shigure-san, Masa-kun." 

 "Hi there, Tohru-chan," Masayuki greeted back as he and Shigure take off their shoes. 

They then entered the dining room with good news: Masayuki had passed the job interview, and he could start working at the publishing firm by tomorrow. 

Upon hearing, Tohru and the others remembered what Emiko had said to them earlier. 

 "Oh, right, Masa-kun, you went to an interview for another part-time job, right?" 

 "Yes, I did," responded Masayuki back, "and I passed." 

Tohru was delighted to hear that. "Wow, I think we should celebrate that." 

 "Sure thing." Then, Emiko ran to Masayuki. 

 "How's the job interview, kuya?" 

Looking at his sister, Masayuki smiled. "I had passed." 

To that Emiko was delighted, too. 

Watching this, Yuki commented to Kyo and Handa, "It seems Mr. Honda is very hardworking." 

 "Yeah, he is," Handa responded with agreement. 

Shortly thereafter, Masayuki changed in his own clothes and gave the suit and tie back to Shigure. 

 Soon after that, all of them had dinner as a celebration of Masayuki's passing of his job interview. While eating, Shigure revealed to Tohru and her friends about Masayuki's birthday and birthplace. Tohru and her friends are very surprised to hear that and completely accepted that as a fact. Masayuki was not a fan of keeping secrets for himself, so he just confirmed it as well, alongside his new part-time job as a junior editor. 

 The next morning, at 5:12 a.m., after waking up, Masayuki and Emiko went down to their apartment home so Masayuki would dress up for work, before they would come back to Shigure's house for breakfast. And while eating breakfast, Tohru said to Masayuki, "Good luck at your first day at work, Masa-kun." 

 "Thanks, Tohru-chan," replied Masayuki back happily, displaying their friendship in front of everyone at the table. 

 After breakfast, Masayuki grabbed his shoulder bag, wore his shoes, and left the house for work. "I'm leaving." Tohru, Emiko, and the others bid farewell and good luck to him for his first day at work. On his way to the publishing firm by train, Masayuki was listening to music while looking at the window and holding on a train strap. 

 Later, at 8:10 a.m., he arrived at the publishing firm and was introduced to the employees, who, despite him being a foreigner, warmly welcomed him into their workplace. His first task as a junior editor is to edit and proofread a few pages of a manuscript from an author. The job was a bit tough, and he has to use his Japanese dictionary for some certain words he didn't know yet. But, he was willing and determined to learn while working.
