Fruits Basket: Tohru's Cousin and Kyo's Brother

What if Tohru had two more cousins and Kyo had a younger brother who was the dog of the the zodiac? Their lives are turning around when two of them decided to leave their family and lived a life of a lone wolf. And also, I would like to tell the story of Fruits Basket from the perspective of a fan-fic character, but also adding some parts for the lives of the fan-fic characters. Masayuki Honda is a 17-year-old Filipino biracial living in Japan and the maternal cousin of Tohru Honda who was supportive of her. Handa Sohma is the younger brother of Kyo Sohma and the dog of the zodiac who was his supporter. They both have something in common: They are sympathetic of their sufferings. Will they escape such suffering of theirs and even their own?

Chapter 51 – Imported from the Philippines

Then, days had passed, and after Arisa and Saki found out that Tohru was still wearing her small swimsuit from middle school, they decided to go shopping for a new one. They announced this to everyone in Shigure's house. Then, Masayuki agreed with their plan, and he responded, "I'll come, too."

  "Me too!" Emiko added.

"Me three!" Handa added as well.

Upon seeing that, Arisa looked at them. "Oh really? You're buying swimsuits, too?"

"No, new stationery," Masayuki confidently replied back.

  "You're into those things?"

Masayuki then nodded. "Yup, pens, notebooks, sticky notes, and highlighters."

"An animal notebook for me," Handa responded.

"Mine is a multi-pen!" Emiko added.

"Okay, sure, why not," Arisa agreed with them.

And so, they all went to the mall for their shopping. They split up into two, with Masayuki going to the stationery section of the department store with Emiko and Handa. Once they had arrived there, they started to look for stationery that are worth their money. Then, Masayuki picked up a fancy-looking notebook that costs 6,000 yen.

"This one is expensive," he commented. "Why people would buy something like this?"

He then put it back. "All they need is something to write on, but I think they would want something fancy or classy."

He then proceeded on.

And then, he finds a bunch of cheap, spiral-bound notebooks neatly stacked together.

Those notebooks, though cheap, are imported from the Philippines.

He was amazed. "Woah, those notebooks are so cheap, yet so good and sophisticated!"

He then began choosing what color of the notebooks he wanted to buy.

He then looked for the manufacturer behind them.

"Man, those are, indeed, from the Philippines," he commented once more.

He then decided on one dark blue and one dark grey notebook and tossed them into the shopping basket. "I'm getting lucky on these cheap, but high-quality notebooks."

He then proceeded to pick up some pens and highlighters because a few of his own at home had ran out of ink.

But, all of these are seen by Tohru's other cousins, who were shopping for new clothes when come across Masayuki's spending habits and preferences. They think that Masayuki is not contributing to the economy because he prefers imported products than locally made ones.
