The desire to be stronger

Haru slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a hospital. 

Haru removed the breathing apparatus and sat up: What is this? All of that was just a dream? 

He exited the hallway and found a nurse in front of him: Hi there. 

The nurse looked at Haru with empty, widened eyes: You shouldn't be here. 

Haru: Yes, I know I should rest and all, but... 

The nurse: Return to the other world, Haru. 

Haru woke up from sleep to find Akane in front of him, with the slimy creature on her shoulder. 

Haru: Akane... What's going on? 

Akane: I've been calling you for a while to wake up... It's time for training. 

Haru looks out the window: The sun hasn't risen yet, what time is it? 

Akane: It's dawn... It's the best time for training compared to sunrise. 

Both Haru and Akane step out of the house. 

Haru: By the way, have you ever thought that everything we go through might just be a dream and that we'll return to our world someday? 

Akane laughed: I think we've all thought about it at least once, but no one has shared this idea before. 

Haru: Yeah, it's kind of weird... Actually, everything we go through is weird, but what made me think about it is that I dreamed I was in a hospital, and it felt so real. 

Akane: It seems like your mind doesn't accept being here yet... You'll get used to it.

A large aura emanates from Akane's hand. 

Haru: This is amazing! 

Haru takes a deep breath and holds it.

Haru closed his eyes and imagined the energy flowing through his veins.

The aura completely covers Akane. 

Haru: This is incredible, but are you sure these are the right steps? 

Akane: Actually, everything felt the same to me... Everyone said I was talented, but you're proving it to me now. 

Haru: (That explains why she's so bad at explaining... She didn't struggle to learn these things.) 

Haru: Come on, Akane, try to find something easier. 

Akane: Alright, let me think... You can't manifest your aura and you can't even summon it in one part of your body... But I thought this would be easier since we haven't even touched on elements and magic yet. 

Haru: Are you saying I'm a failure without saying it? 

Akane: Okay, okay, I didn't mean it... Let me think. 

Haru looks at the sky for a moment. 

Haru: Isn't there a spell I can just say or some hand gestures or sign language or something? 

Akane: What are you talking about? 

Haru: I don't know, I thought it would help. 

Akane: Actually, some people use gestures while performing their magic... Maybe that makes it easier for them, but manifesting the aura isn't that difficult. 

Haru: Here you go again. 

Haru places his hand on his heart. 

Haru: (I just want to reach... Wait, what do I want to reach? Since I came here, I haven't had the time to sit with myself and think a little... That was the only thing I used to do in my previous life... Sit and think... Unlike this life, where I do so many things... I feel like I'll die if I stop progressing... Or maybe that what will actually happen, not just in my imagination.) 

Akane: Got it. (What's with him, he seems so lost in thought that he didn't even hear me.) 

Haru continued to breathe deeply while his hand was on his heart. 

Haru: (I want to feel the power flowing through my body... More and more... The desire to survive... I want to repay Leia and Akane, so I must be stronger.) 

Haru took a deep breath and his entire body lit up with a light white aura. 

Akane: You did it, Haru! 

Haru slowly opens his eyes, filled with tears. 

Akane: Are these tears of joy that they talk about? 

Haru laughd: It's the first time I've seen you smile too. 

Akane: Alright, alright... I'll consider it a tie. 

Akane: (That's the lightest aura I've ever seen in my life, but saying that will make him pessimistic, I guess.) 

Haru: What's the next step? 

Akane: Try to focus the aura on just one part. 

Haru: (Maybe I should choose the heart again.) 

The aura gradually disappears from Haru's extremities, moving towards his heart, then disappears completely.

Akane: It's okay, your goal should be to increase the duration you can maintain your aura. 

Haru places his hand on his heart: Alright, I'll try that now. 

Akane: Stop, stop... The sun has already risen. 

Haru: Does the energy disappear when the sun rises?

Haru: Alright, alright... You're already a sharp teacher... I'm coming. 

Haru ran towards the house, smiling: (No matter what risks are in this world... I've loved this world to and I'll protect these happy moments with all I have.)
