Whole

In a far away land, was a girl with a big hole in her chest. She didn't possess a heart and felt no emotions at all. People didn't know about it and thought she was a strong person and always treated her as one. Very soon the hole was starting to feel a little heavy with each passing day. The girl couldn't understand what was happening to her since these kind of emotions were foreign to her. She kept on pretending that nothing was wrong with her but the weight kept on increasing with each passing day. One day the she couldn't bear it anymore since it hurt like crazy. She ran and ran until she reached a lake. She looked down in the water to find her reflection. It was her but something was different about her, something was dripping down her face, she touched it to find warm water streaming down her face. She couldn't explain what it was and she very well knew that people who knew her would abandon her if they saw her in this weird condition. The urge to sink in the lake was a recurring thought and a peaceful one at that. She drowned herself and her body was found the next day. People kept on muttering fake sympathy and some brave ones cursed her name and talked about how selfish she was. If only they had just seen her for the real her and not the persona she portrayed, she wouldn't have made that choice.
