From Suikoden to the Multiverse

I don't mind this job. However, I still need to take care of some businesses back home. I need to gather points to pay for the power that will take me home. I will become the greatest agent of Waifu Catalog Inc. if it means for me to return to my world.

Chapter 1

I blink for a moment when I see that I am not on my bed. Not only that, but I am also wearing something that is not mine. I check my pockets frantically, hoping to find some kind of explanation for what is happening.

To my surprise, there is one. It is a phone, and there is a message for me.

{Welcome to the team! You are now one of the agents of Waifu Catalog Inc. Your new identity is Giotto, and you are now in the Suikoden world. Good luck and bring a lot of target for our company}

I stare at the phone in disbelief, a surge of confusion washing over me as I realize an extra memory has been implanted in my mind after reading the message. I release a frustrated sigh and rub the bridge of my nose, struggling to grasp the bizarre situation I find myself in fully.

Despite the overwhelming odds, I am determined to return home. But to do that, I need to earn some points. The only way to do that is to mark all the targets in the bounty section with the company's stamp. I glance at the phone, open the bounty app, and study the list. Most of them are women, but a few men are also marked as targets.

Lucky for me, this build lets me go to another world after I am done. However, it will be random. I can get a low-level world where there is no danger to me, but there will be no points for me to earn other than from the mission, or I get a high-level world where danger is everywhere, but there are a lot of points to harvest.

This method of travel will never take me to my home world. I need something other than this one. I know a perk that will let me travel between worlds, but it is expensive. For now, I need to be content with the basic one and then buy the expensive one.

Sadly, I cannot save all my points because I need an upgrade to survive. Lucky for me, Giotto (Vongola Primo) is someone who is powerful enough to be put in a Tier-7 character. What does that mean? He can devastate a country. Not easily, but he can do that.

In terms of power, I am good. That only leaves me with defense. I have immunity to any power that tries to read me, such as mind reading, scouter (Dragon Ball), or martial sensing. I have a good defense against mind attacks like mind control or compulsion. I do not have immunity, but I am working on it. The last one is resistance to poison, disease, and targeted radiation.

I need to spend more points to buy a defense against more exotic things like Corruption, Polymorph, Possession, Draining Effect, or even Fate-based attack.

I think for a second about how to get more points before I remember something. I quickly open the mission app and scroll for a few seconds before seeing the mission I want. It is called Mercenary Work. I need to join one or two factions that are at war with each other and help that faction win. Not only that, but it will give me forty points after taking this mission and another forty points when our faction wins the war. There are also a lot of bonus objectives that I can do.

I also search for missions in this timeline and see two of them.

I take one of them. It is a mission that requires me to protect the main character and ensure all of his Star of Destiny (Named Characters) in the upcoming war do not die. I can do that; this mission is tied to the first one.

I shake my head and look around. I am standing in the middle of a grassland. Which direction should I choose? I blink for a moment when my Sky Flame reaches me and informs me which direction I should take. I follow my intuition and go south.

After walking for fifteen minutes, arrive in front of a beautiful city with a river going through it. Ah, if my memory remembers correctly, this is Lelcar. This place has three districts: the north, south, and center. The north is the upper-class district, the center is the trade district, and the south is the lower-class district.

Because of the weak leadership of the city lord, there are three factions.

I enter the city, and my Sky Flame immediately tells me to go west. I follow its instructions and see a line of people in front of a stall. I walk to the nearby citizen and say.

"Excuse me, but what is happening here?"

"Ah, an outsider, huh? These people want to join the Sacred Games and try their chance. Do you want to try it? You can go ahead and register your name. Ah, prepare three thousand Potch for the entrance fee."

Oh! The Sacred Games have yet to start, huh? That means I have not yet reached the start of the story.

"When will the Sacred Games start?"

"A month from now on."

And I have a feeling that it was just the preliminary stage and not the main one.

"So? Do you want to join?"

"Might as well."

I take out my phone and see the currency conversion of this world. The company is kind enough to give me ten thousand dollars per month. I opened the app and saw that the rate was 1:1000, which is cheap. I exchanged ten dollars for ten thousand Potch, and I could feel a stack of paper appear in my pocket.

Does the conversion depend on the tier of the world? This is a Tier-4 Timeline, after all. Not the world but rather the timeline because this is a Tier-5 world, but most of the more dangerous monsters and events are in the future.

I put that away and waited in line with the people. After a few minutes, I arrived in front of a well-dressed man.

"Do you want to register as a fighter or spectator?"

"Fighter."

"Right. Three thousand Potch in cash. We don't accept promises or favors."

I put my hand in my pocket and put down the cash.

"Very well. What is your name?"

"Giotto Vongola."

"Where are you from? Greenhill, City-State of Jowston."

He writes everything down and takes out a crystal. He pressed the crystal on the paper, and a few seconds later, the paper turned into a card.

"Take this. The preliminary stage will start in a month in Sol Falena. Show this card to any guard, and he will take you to the stadium. Please come to the city two days before the competition and two hours before the stage starts. If you are late, you are disqualified."

"I understand."

"Lastly, Sacred Games forbid any magic. That means no runes or spells can be used in the fight. If you use a rune, you will be disqualified."

"I understand."

"Good. Good luck, and make sure not to be late."

I store the card in my inventory and leave. This is bad. Don't get me wrong, Giotto is good at unarmed combat, but he is not the best. At least, not against the best of the best that will appear in this tournament.

I need to take a template for this. I can rely on my Martial Talent perk, but I don't think it is enough. I walk to the inn and say.

"How much for a room?"

"120 Potchs per day and another 50 for the food. We are serving breakfast and dinner. You need to buy lunch."

"I will take a room and the food."

I put the money on the counter, and the owner nodded. He takes a key and says.

"Here is your key. Your room is on the second floor."

I take the key and open the door to my room. I lock the door and release a sigh. I take out my phone and go to the talent section to buy a template. I think for a few seconds and decide to take the template from a Manhwa I once read in the past.

I take Garp from One Piece as my template. The reason? He is a monster in hand-to-hand fights, and his physical strength is something out of this world. Giotto is a hand-to-hand fighter, something that is compatible with Garp.

After I press accept, I can feel my body change. My muscles grow stronger, and my senses get sharper. I can already sense Haki within me. The Conqueror Haki is at the very bottom, but it is there, waiting for me to grow. My highest haki is the Armament Haki, but there is still a long way to go before I can reach Garp's level.

I shake my head and release a sigh. As much as I want to test my power, I still have business to do. With a deep breath, I leave the room and walk to the trading house.
