CHAPTER 75
"Ayraaaaaaaaa " Ella screamed gleefully on seeing her advance with her sister Alice, she had been waiting for her for the past few minutes .
" Ella how was your night? and why do you look so excited to see me? " Ayra teased. She had been so reluctant on coming to school today worried that her fellow students would still heap the blame on her and Alice for the abrupt end of the excursion,scared on what Alice would do if someone confronted her because Alice was a ticking time bomb and was ready to blow up on anyone who dared to cross her at the moment. She would have opted to stay back at home but unfortunately she couldn't because grandma Nana was already asking questions about the excursion and missing school would only arouse her suspicion, coupled with the fact everyone thinks she loves school she would definitely have a lot of questions to answer but seeing Ella greet her so cheerfully she was at least relieved that someone didn't give her the cold shoulders and hard glare.
" Of course I'm super excited to see you you're my bestie and I missed you " Ella said curling her fingers around her hair.
" Ella we saw each other two days ago " Ayra refuted but was grateful for a friend like her.
" Nonsense I'm allowed to miss you anytime anyday ayra " .
Alice snorted loudly sickened by the sweetness between the two girls but ella merely spared her a glance wondered the reason she was still standing with them.
" Anyways I called your home but no one answered why?? " Ella enquired scrunching up her nose at ayra.
" Oh uhm the th- " .
" We are staying at our grandma's for now " Alice inputed aghast on how easily tongue tied ayra could get over a simple question.
Ella stilled for a moment taken aback that the great Alice spoke to her before she regained her equilibrium and smiled gently before frowning quickly " Oh my God I hope you guys didn't get into trouble because of the excursion stuff? "
" No no fortunately the school didn't call at our home " Ayra replied this time .
" Oh okay that's nice but why are you guys staying over at your grandma? and isn't the distance farther away from our school? plus grandma's are only visited during the holiday right? " .
" Christ why do you ask too many questions huh Ella?" Alice groaned .
" I'm terribly sorry, ayra see you later " She muttered sneaking out fear evident in her eyes .
" Gosh Alice did you really have to scare her? " Ayra questioned facing her sister.
" Look it wasn't my intention to scare her away but she was asking too many questions and you were clearly fumbling for the answers like a fool but is your friend always like that? "
Ayra chose to ignore the part where she called her a "fool" the last thing she wanted was to argue with her in front of the whole school " Like what? " She asked instead.
" I don't know so bubbly so inquisitive about how you spent your day, she literally wanted to know everything that happened the past few days " .
" That's her own way of showing she cares and I don't appreciate you scaring her off " .
" Bullshit better keep your mouth shut on the main reason we are staying over at Nana's. " Alice warned.
" I know I'm not a child " Ayra replied offended " Where is your boyfriend? I have not seen him hovering around you today ". She asked pleased but surprised that Alice was still standing with her.
" I don't know and I don't care " She replied sticking a gum in her mouth.
Ayra stared at her taken aback by her comment.
" What?? there is more to life than being a sort of adornment for a boy " .
" Is that the way Troy makes you feel ? " she asked gently but before alice could utter a word jack suddenly materialised out of nowhere smiling like Santa.
" Muffin I have been looking all over for you " He mouthed and made a grand show of holding and kissing her knuckles, he tugged her towards his body with the intention of embracing her but her widened eyes stopped him in his tracks .
" Oh hi Alice " He said in a way of greeting and still held tightly to ayra's hands but Alice completely ignored him and looked towards another direction.
" Alice he said hi" Ayra whispered in her ears but just got a hard glare as reply.
" C'mon let's go to class muffin someone is being a sour apple this beautiful morning " . Jack muttered gently dragging her away from Alice but ayra stilled his movement
" Just a moment , Alice will you be fine all alone? where are your friends? " .
" Is that question for me? Hmm you keep forgetting I'm Alice Thompson , I don't need anyone not even you to be fine " She declared pointing a finger in her face.
" Oh alright I - I don't even know the reason I asked , you are right you will always be fine totally don't need my help " She added with a low tone.
" Just make sure you are out early after dismissal because I ain't waiting for you and you know we must go back together " She said stalking off with flair.
Ayra looked at her retreating back till jack brought her back to reality with a hug from the back " Are you okay? " .
" Yeah I'm fine I'm used to it " She said understanding his unspoken question.
" Why do you have to go home together? "
" We are staying in my grandma's house at the moment and it's quite far " .
Jack stopped dead in his track the only thought in his head was he won't be able to see her whenever he wanted to " Why? You didn't tell me, where exactly does your grandma stay? " He demanded.
" I'm sorry for not mentioning it but it's just a temporary arrangement trust me I will be back soon " She reasurred.
" Are you okay living in her house? and I want to know the reason you guys moved suddenly " .
" Jack I can't tell you at the moment but I'm perfectly fine and my grandma is an amazing person " .
" Tsk pick my calls because I will call you every night gosh I miss you already " He murmured kissing her neck and breathing into her perfume which was his favorite scents in the world.
" Jack stop being so cheesy we would see each other everyday in school an- " .
" Jack?? A hurt voice called out and he turned to see the person who had dared to interrupt his muffin while she was speaking.
