I Finally Found Her.

David idly turned from one side another and slowly opened his eyes. The bright rays of the sun were dancing together on his pillow, showing him that the new day had already begun.

The young man stretched and looked around. The room was calm and comfortable. "It's probably not a bad idea to be in silence for a couple of days," he slowly got out of bed, went to the window and opened it.

Fresh air immediately burst into the room, forcing the young man to cringe a little from the goosebumps. He returned to the bed, took a T-shirt from the chair and put it on. 'It is a pity that Elena is not here. I hope she is doing well. Maybe she even started missing me already,' a contented smile appeared on the guy's face from these thoughts.

He quickly got dressed, and went downstairs.

His mom had already prepared breakfast by then, and his father was sitting at the table reading a book.

"Good morning!" David said cheerfully. Somehow he had a wonderful mood, although there was no particular reason for this.

"Oh, son, good morning! I just made breakfast. What are you going to eat? There are bacon and eggs and pancakes," his mom suggested.

"Hmm, I'm not very hungry yet, so I'll eat a couple of pancakes and just drink tea," the young man replied.

"William, stop fiddling with your book already. You see that our son has already come. Let's have breakfast together because we don't know when we will have such an opportunity next time."

"David, your mother is especially active today, I think we should go fishing together; otherwise she will come up with some more fun," suggested the father, which caused Madame Anderson to burst with outrage.

But knowing this woman for more than thirty years, he had a clear idea of how angry she was. Therefore, after thinking a little, Mr. Anderson added, "Dina, do not worry. It won't take us too long, a couple of hours max. Then our son will be at your complete disposal."

The last words of her husband softened the woman's indignation a little, and she sighed and said, "Well, you can't do anything with men. Go on your fishing trip. If you do not return in two hours, I will come to you and scare all your fish!"

David and his father nodded obediently, and the whole family started the breakfast with a smile.

The river flowing down the hill where their house was located, was about 6 meters wide. Although it was not very deep, it was abundant with a huge variety of fish. It was like the golden Eldorado for the local fishermen, as everyone knew that they would definitely return home with a good catch.

"Well, how are things in America?" William Anderson asked his son and threw the bait into the water.

"It's different every time, but overall, everything's good," David replied and joined his father.

"How is Daniel?"

"Well, as usual, I think," David decided not to go into details, as his father apparently did not know that he had transferred to his brother most of his shares.

"It's good if everything is good. I haven't been in the city for two weeks, so I didn't follow the news. But I'm sure you have everything under control," the father said, not taking his eyes off the cork float on the surface of the water.

"Yes, everything is under control, dad," the son answered, although his brother's unexpected arrival shook his nerves.

"So what was so serious issue that you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Dad, are you personally acquainted with President Lee?"

"You're talking about Chen Lee now?" William asked, and David nodded his head in reply.

"Hmm, let's say, once upon a time we had a fairly good relationship, but then we stopped communicating."

"Do you know that he blames you for the death of his family sixteen years ago?" David asked his father straight. For him, solving this problem was critical.

William Anderson was just about to hook the fish, but when he heard his son's question, his hand shook, and the fish fell off the hook. He sat back in his chair, put the bait on the dock, crossed his fingers and sighed heavily.

"Hmm, I did not think that I would hear such a question from you. What exactly are you interested in?"

"Everything," David answered confidently.

Mr. Anderson raised his head and looked into the clear blue sky.

"Who would have thought that sixteen years would pass so quickly. You know, I still clearly remember the smile of that boy, Chen's son, he was a very open and cheerful child. Even Daniel succumbed to his childish spontaneity, and you yourself know that he is not too much into communicating with little children," an adult man grinned.

"This is because the children see right through this cunning fox," David added bitterly.

"Ahaha, something tells me that you do not have a very high opinion of your brother. Back when you two were little you used to go together like salt and pepper. I remember you even refused to sleep if your brother did not hold your hand."

The young man blushed slightly and immediately said in his defence, "Khem, I was a child, it does not count. And in general, you left the main topic. And how is it that Daniel even knew President Lee's son, and I hadn't even heard of that?"

"First of all, it was in America, and you and your mother stayed at home in England. And secondly," the man fell silent for a moment, and then continued, "Even your mother does not know about it. So what I'll tell you now should stay between us." David looked warily at his father and nodded affirmatively.

"At that time, we were going to make a contract with Lee Pharmaceuticals for the manufacture of one medicine, which could significantly affect not only the pharmacology but also the entire medicine sphere in general. Everything went well until one day," the man turned his head and looked at his son. Then he continued half a tone lower,

"Once, Daniel and I were sitting in a cafe in the evening. This was two days before the planned date of signing the partnership. We were quietly having dinner when suddenly a woman sat down at our table.

I have never seen her and was very surprised by such bad manners. But she began to talk about me, about my family, about everything that ever happened in my life. Even about something that no one but me knew. Can you imagine how that shocked me?"

David looked at his father with wide eyes, "And what happened after that?"

"Then she said that if my son and I did not leave America right away and did not return to England, then we would not be alive tomorrow."

"And you believed her?"

"And how could I not believe her, David? When she told me so much before that. Do you know what she did? She asked Daniel to give her his hand. He obediently fulfilled her request. I don't know what she did, but Daniel confirmed her words. I had no reason not to believe Daniel. You are well aware of his abilities yourself. David, she even knew about you!"

"Do you mean..."

"Yes, that's right! But no one else knows about this except for your mother and me. This woman asked me not to tell anyone about that conversation, otherwise, our family would be overtaken by a great misfortune. Then she just got up and left.

At first, I was confused, but then I ran after her. From a distance I saw her back, and that she was leading some little girl by the hand. And then their silhouettes mingled in the crowd, and I could no longer see them.

That same evening, Daniel and I returned home, and the next morning I received a message from Mr. Lee which was saying that he was refusing our contract. And a week later, his family died in that accident. I don't know why he decided that I was somehow involved in the death of his wife and son, but, believe me, I have absolutely nothing to do with it."

Both men fell silent, and each was lost in his own thoughts. They were no longer interested in fishing, and they simply watched how the sun's rays reflected on the surface of the river.

"Why did you even ask about this?" William Anderson suddenly asked his son.

David scratched his head in embarrassment, "Khem, if I don't figure this out, Mr. Lee won't approve of my relationship with his daughter."

Having heard this, Mr. Anderson was very surprised, "What did you just say? Have you already found yourself a girlfriend? Wait a minute... David, is that her? Your one and only..."

"Yes, that's her. I finally found her," David answered, and smiled.

Mr. Anderson jumped up and hugged his son tightly, "Lord, how glad I am! Congratulations! Just think that this will be Chen Lee's daughter! David, if you need my help, I am ready to do everything in my power. I am even ready to meet this Lee and talk to him like a father with a father!"

"Ahaha, dad, don't embarrass me, please. I will solve this question myself. But thanks for the support," David smiled back.

The young man looked into the blue sky and sighed with relief, 'So many years have passed, and I am still surprised by such silence. Elena, I hope you are now as calm as me. Two more days and I can see you.'

David closed his eyes and began to enjoy the sounds of nature. There was silence and peace on his soul that he had not experienced for so many years.

The young man did not know that at the same time on the other side of the ocean, a huge storm broke out. And in the center of this storm was the girl he had been searching for so long.

This double chapter is a light breeze before the storm.

Be ready for the rollercoaster.

Cheers! ^_^
