Chapter 14 – Flirting with Rosemary

"Argh! IT HURTS! I THINK HE FRACTURED MY ARM!" Glottis yelled loudly, pulling the attention of anyone nearby. Now even if Glottis was a normal student, the school wouldn't be able to let the incident slide. Considering that Glottis' status was anything but normal, Mike was in deep shit.

"Mike! Stop!" Miss Rosemary tried to hold him, but she couldn't compete with the strength of a second-stage cultivator. Mike pushed her away without full control of his strength, making her yelp in fright and hit the floor.

"Ah!"

Her voice awakened him from his blind rage, making him realize what he had just done. "Miss Rosemary, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" He panicked and went to help her stand. However, Duke and Gabriel understood their assignment well.

"If you have the chance to ruin Mike and Rosemary's relationship, take it."

Glottis whispered those words to their ears earlier when he stopped them from having a go at Mike.

"Stay away from her, You can't hurt people as you please only because you are a cultivator," Duke stepped forward, bravely placing himself as a shield between the two.

"That's right. I might be a normal man, but I can tell right from wrong. If I must die protecting Miss Rosemary, I will gladly throw my life!" Gabriel took his friend's side, the contrast between his firm stance and his scared expression could move one to tears.

"Cut the bullshit, I would never harm Miss Rosemary on purpose!" Mike protested, but nobody took his side.

"Go away, animal!" Someone shouted from the crowd.

"How can we be safe when a violent cultivator is among us?" murmurs like this were heard all over the place.

"I'm not violent, it's not my fault! It's him! It's all him!" Mike yelled at them while pointing at Glottis who was still on the ground.

"Enough. Mike, go home, now. You will be summoned to the principal's office tomorrow."

Rosemary, who displayed more resilience than a certain man and already stood up, spoke in a commanding tone. She didn't yell, and she didn't seem angry anymore, but it only hurt Mike worse.

"But-"

"I said go home. Do you disrespect me so much you would disregard my words in front of everyone here?"

Mike looked around him, and the situation finally sunk in his mind. He knew that no matter what he believed in and no matter what he would say, nobody would take his side. "Yes, Miss Rosemary, I'm sorry for hurting you." He said dejectedly and left, going back home.

"Mr. Sonora, are you ok? Can you stand?" She approached him and said with concern. She wasn't a big fan of those young masters, but he was still a student in her school, let alone the fact she was somewhat involved in the circumstances that led to his injury.

"Miss Rosemary, he is too powerful and merciless, I think he fractured my arm."

"He is normally very docile and gentle. I think Mike is just unstable because of his father's recent death, please don't hold it against him, Mr. Sonora," Rosemary did her best to protect Mike. She knew him for many years now, she hoped the Sonora family wouldn't go after him because of today.

"Since Miss Rosemary vouches for him, I won't pursue the matter. But please, can you take me home so a doctor can treat me?"

"You mean the hospital, right?" Rosemary blinked in surprise.

"No, it's only bone fracture, there's no need for a hospital," Glottis gave her a weird gaze.

'Aiya, billionaires just live differently,' Rosemary sighed before nodding, "I will escort you home then. I will call a taxi." She then remembered that there were still many people watching them, "Everyone, go back to your classrooms, the show is over."

"Miss Rosemary, don't you have a car?"

"I don't, I come by foot," she admitted, embarrassed. Everyone knew that Glottis had permission to bring his car into the school, which meant everyone knew he had a car.

"It's ok, you don't need to worry about it. Do you have a driver's license?" Glottis' mind was working overtime to stop himself from spouting something that would ruin his already bad image.

"I do, why?"

"I don't want to leave my car here, how about you drive us in my car then? I will tell one of the servants to take you home, so you have nothing to worry about," Glottis suggested.

"I couldn't possibly handle driving a car that expensive. What if I scratch it? The repairs would cost me my house," Rosemary said, her tone filled with apprehension as she waved off the offer, her face etched with worry.

"Don't worry about it, I promise I won't take a single dollar from you even if you crash it into a tree on purpose," Glottis raised his hand as he made his promise in a traditional oath stance.

"Haha," a chuckle escaped her lips, "Fine, let's do it then. You can't blame me if you won't have a car after this," she smiled and helped him get up. She'd lie if she said she wasn't thrilled at the thought of driving a car that cost more than her house.

"If I have no car because of you, I will just demand you escort me yourself every day until I buy a new one."

"Oh? And how much time would it take for you to buy a new car?" She asked.

"If you escort me to school every day, I might never buy a new one."

Duke and Gabriel who stood witness to the whole conversation silently from the side, exchanged a quick look before raising their thumbs at Glottis behind Rosemary's back. 'NI-CE!' their lips moved.

"How cheesy," Rosemary said, but the smile on her face said otherwise. She knew she'd never have a real relationship with a Sonora, but it was still fun to imagine life as a billionaire.

Leaving the school, Glottis walked her to his parking spot, leaning on her the entire time. Miss Rosemary understood that his reliance on her was just pretense, given that his arms, not his legs, were injured. However, she was reluctant to refuse this bit of aid to an injured student.
