My eyes opened wide when I heard what the man had said. For some reason, the thought of him being with another woman didn't sit well with me at all. I couldn't stand to listen anymore so I just walked away in a way that didn't distract them at all.
Jason kept looking at Mr Martins Blake without saying a word.
"Won't you say anything".
"I have nothing to say, sir, I am not interested".
Mr Martins Blake didn't look pleased at all.
"What did you say? You are not interested"?
Jason simply nodded his head and then, stood up.
"I have a girlfriend and I would appreciate it if you didn't bring up such topics anymore. As you know, my girlfriend lives with me".
Mr Blake also stood up and fixed his suit. He wasn't short but he was not in any way as tall as Jason. He looked at Jason and said.
I can let you take advantage of my second daughter as she is nothing less of a disappointment, but my oldest daughter? You are not allowed to treat her anyhow you feel like".
Jason just kept looking at him and when the old man was done talking, he walked out.
Mr Blake got home, and the first person he saw was his oldest daughter, Melissa. Melissa was a beautiful slim young lady. She looked like she was in her late twenties, probably around Nadia's age but you could hardly tell because all her life had been smooth so she didn't have a reason to look old.
"Welcome back Father".
She said as she gave her father a hug. They both went inside and sat in the living room.
"How did it go father"?
She asked her father which made him look at her.
"Do you really have to be with him? Why him"?
Her father asked but as soon as Melissa heard that, she bent her head in disappointment.
"You weren't able to convince him, were you Father"?
She asked as she raised her head to look at him again.
"He'll come back to senses soon, he is blinded by this nameless girl".
Her father spat as he looked into the air.
"Father".
She called out to him in a sweet melodic voice which made her father look at her.
"It's either Jason O'Brien or no one else".
She said and suddenly, Anita dashed out from behind the door.
"What did you just say"?
She yelled as she came in but neither her sister nor her father responded.
"Father!! What's going on here"?
"What do you think"?
Her father replied with no emotions at all.
"Father!!"
She yelled.
"Do not yell at me child. It's your fault for not getting Jason when you had the chance. Besides, do you know that your sister was in love with him for a very long time but said nothing because we introduced him to you"?
He said and made it look like it was all Anita's fault. Anita smiled in an irritated way and then, she looked at her sister who was sitting down and acting innocent.
"This is all you, isn't it? You told them you were in love with him to make me look bad!!"
She yelled and her father stood up and gave her a painfully hot slap. Anita held her face but her face was covered with her hair due to the force her father used to slap her.
"You have no right to speak to your elder sister like that!!"
He yelled at her and Melissa stood up and ran towards her father.
"Father please that's enough, we all know she was trying to date him. She must be devastated".
Suddenly, Anita began to laugh. It started lightly but soon, it became louder and louder. She looked at her father and sister.
"Isn't it funny father? Now I can yell at you but I can't yell at her".
She looked away from her father and looked at her sister.
"Funny thing is I was already getting tired of him. He is too much stress and as you know, I hate stress so guess what sis, you can have him".
Anita said and without giving them the chance to say any other thing, she walked away.
"Anita!! Come back here!!"
Her father yelled but Melissa tried to calm him down. When Anita was gone, no one could see it but Melissa had a very evil smile on her face.
Anita went into her room and flung the bag she was holding on the floor as she yelled. It had always been like this, her sister wanted so much attention that she took their father's love away completely.
Whenever Melissa did something wrong, Anita always took the blame. Anita was loved by her parents a lot but gradually, a bridge was created and soon enough, they didn't see eye to eye anymore. At least her mother was still a bit loving but it still had some distance.
The reason why Anita hated people who constantly sought attention was mainly because of her elder sister. Anita sat on the floor and cried. She tried hard to fight it as she felt it was worthless but it just kept coming.
It was evening already and Jason had not seen Nadia all day except for earlier. He told a maid to call Nadia and soon enough, she was in his study.
When I came in, he was sitting on a couch with a glass of wine. He wasn't drinking it, it was just placed on the table. I went in and bowed before I sat.
"You called for me Sir".
He weirdly looked at me.
"You need to stop calling me that".
I raised my brow as I did not understand what he was talking about.
"I'm your boyfriend now, what would people think when they hear you calling me sir"?
I knew what he was talking about and I wanted to leave as soon as possible so I decided to cooperate.
"What do I call you then"?
"You can just call me by my name".
I raised a brow as I replied.
"I don't think I can do that Sir".
Jason didn't know what to say so he just asked her a question.
"Why"?
"Because you might be with someone else very soon. It will be uncomfortable for both of us".
I said. I didn't know why I said it but I just did.
"Someone else? Did you overhear my conversation earlier"?
He asked and I nodded gently.
"I didn't mean to, it just happened that way".
I said.
Jason noticed that she was acting out of character which made him smile to himself as he called her name.
"Nadia"?
He called and she looked at him.
"Are you jealous"?
