The merge of two kingdoms

A cold and windy afternoon in Donghua.

Ministers gathered in the inner court to hear an important announcement. Queen Dowager Yanti appeared in the inner court, sitting tall and facing the ministers. She looked at the ministers. Her face was expressionless. Nobody could tell what she was thinking. She shifted her gaze towards her attendant and nodded her head.

The attendant of the queen strode forward to announce the imperial decree that the queen had prepared. He began to read with a shrill voice.

"I am addressing you today, not as a mother to King Jamal, but as a mother of the nation. My dream is to have a peaceful country. I believe all of you felt the same. Not long ago, we had a war. Thinking of the fallen soldiers, and the bloodshed, it makes me upset."

The attendant gulped as he looked at the next paragraph. His eyes appeared to damp.

After we have done an in-depth analysis, we have concluded the ruler of Shilla deemed fit to help the nation bring prosperity. I am here to announce the abdication of the throne to Shilla. This has been the toughest decision that I have ever made. I believe the country will be peaceful when both countries unify"

The ministers were visibly shocked and disappointed by the message. In their eyes, she seemed apathetic towards the monarch of the Donghua.

The prime minister of Donghua came forward, he clenched both hands together towards the queen to give respect. "Your majesty! Pardon me for brazenly speaking. We must protect the monarch of Donghua!" He said. All other ministers looked at each other and nodded their heads.

"I am sorry but we do not like the idea. We have to fight back!" Another minister argued.

"It is easier said than done. If you are on the battlefield, you would not be saying this. Plenty of troops died during the war, their wish is to return home safely and meet their family members. I do not wish to see anyone get hurt." Queen Dowager Yanti responded.

Queen Dowager Yanti instructed her attendant to dispatch the royal edict to Shilla to confirm the abdication. She highlighted a few conditions. Shilla needs to ensure the safety of King Jamal and the citizens of Donghua must have the same privilege as the Shilla.

A few days later, King George received a royal edict from Queen Dowager Yanti. He told the ministers and Prince Liam about her confirmation to abdicate the throne to Shilla.

Crown Prince Liam wanted to bring King Jamal to Donghua. He wanted to take this opportunity to visit the country. His teams wanted to accompany him there to make sure he was safe. Meanwhile, King Jamal in the prison cell had found out that Queen Dowager Yanti abdicated the throne, he was absolutely devastated. Feeling guilty towards his mother.

Crown Prince Liam, General Li, Olena, Yoona, Mori, Sora, Farah, and Leah gathered in the port, they took King Jamal with them. While they waited for the boat, citizens flocked to the port as they realized King Jamal would be there. The citizens threw rubbish towards King Jamal and started to curse him.

Queen Dowager Yanti waited patiently for the return of King Jamal. Many of his consorts fled with their children after they learnt about the abdication.

Upon arrival at the Donghua Port, the courtiers from Donghua led them to the palace and brought them to meet Queen Dowager Yanti. She was sitting and waiting for them. They bowed at her to give their respect.

Queen Dowager Yanti voluntarily handed over the seal of the throne to Olena. Olena looked at the Queen Dowager Yanti, she had a kind-hearted look and was sincere. As they received the seal, they hand over King Jamal to the Queen Dowager Yanti.

Olena announced, "As we have agreed, we will look after the citizens from Donghua. The royal family of Donghua can continue to stay in the palace. However, they are strictly prohibited from leaving the palace. The ministers can continue to serve the country just like before. Kindly hand over Aliyah and the military seal to us. She is the criminal that we have been seeking for. Thank you."

Queen Dowager Yanti nodded her head to agree. She gave instruction to General Khun to hand over the military seal. General Khun walks toward General Li to give him the military seal.

Queen Dowager Yanti instructed to bring Aliyah. The royal guards dragged aliyah into the hall. King Jamal sees Aliyah, runs toward her to embrace her.

Queen Dowager Yanti yells at King Jamal, "Jamal, come over here." King Jamal refuses to let go. She instructed her royal guards to pull them apart.

Olena announced the royal edict of King George.

"By the royal command, Aliyah has committed many unpardonable sins. She is not feeling remorse for her actions but she continues to commit more crimes. To execute her to death is not harsh enough to make her realize the pain that the citizens have suffered. I command the authority to have Aliyah's hands and legs amputated in the public."

Aliyah, who couldn't tolerate the humiliation that she is going through, starts biting her tongue to commit suicide. Noel ran to her mother and hugged her. Crying in grief to see his mother commit suicide in front of her.

Queen Dowager Yanti wants to meet Olena in private. They walked into another room, and said, "I am a sinner to abort the monarchy of Donghua. I hope you will grant me permission to stay in a temple where I can pray."

Olena nodded, "Sure. Please let us know which temple you will stay though"

Queen Dowager Yanti agreed, "I hope you will be a good ruler not only to Shilla but to the people of Donghua."

Olena grabbed the hand of Queen Dowager Yanti and promised her she would, "Our highest priority is the people of the country. I promised you, Donghua citizens will have the same privileges as the Shilla."

After the meeting, Crown Prince Liam and Olena disguised themselves as local people of Donghua. Together with Mori, Yoona, Sora, Farah, and Leah, they take a tour of the city to meet the people. They wanted to find out more about the country.

They plan to build another research institute in Donghua. Using the money they have confiscated from the Huang Clan, the deposed Queen Aliyah's family.

They bought a manor in Donghua, and refurbish them. At the launching of the research institute in Donghua, Prince Liam and Olena encourage the citizens from Donghua and Shilla to trade with each other to expand their business.

Apparently, the Donghua citizens are prosperous. In the meeting, they realized the impact of the war on agriculture. The farmers of Shilla are struggling to produce enough to feed the population. The market has an insufficient supply of food to the people to the extent they have to purchase the food for the people and fodder for animals from Donghua at a very expensive rate. While the Shilla citizens are recovering from the war, Donghua citizens are earning a lot of money from them.

Crown Prince Liam and Olena gathered her team. They meet in the room to discuss a plan to help agriculture in the Shilla.

Crown Prince Liam and Olena cast a spell of advanced farming on Mori. Olena looked at Mori and informed him, "Mori, you will be blessing the fertilizer. When the farmer uses the fertilizer, the plants will grow twice as fast. They do not have to wait a long time to harvest the plants."

Crown Prince Liam and Olena cast a spell of the amazing crop on Sora, "Sora, will bless the soil. When the farmer planted a seed, the plants will grow twice as much. The seeds will produce more quantity."

Crown Prince Liam and Olena cast a spell of rich harvest on Yoona, "Yoona, will bless the water. When the farmer waters the plants, the harvest plants will last longer. Pest will stay away."

Crown Prince Liam and Olena cast a spell of productivity waves on Leah, "Leah will bless the fodder of the animals. When the farmers feed the fodders to the animals, the animals become healthier. The cow will produce more milk and the chicken will lay more eggs."

King George had donated his personal income to purchase rice and wheat to donate to the citizens. He felt guilty for being helpless during the war. Citizens queue up to get rice and wheat.

Citizens are helping each other out during their hard times. Not long after, Shilla has recovered from the war. Although they have lost a lot of things, what they concerned about is the peaceful moment for the country.
