Chapter 8: special

"No sir. But I was able to see his face although he was wearing a mask so it may take a while to identify him. Perhaps we could ask Evie to draw out who she saw and I'll have some people look into it" the man said and Fu Hua replied with a hum before cutting the call.

'Who could he be? He couldn't possibly be related to the accidents, could he? His family had suffered so much and he didn't want anything else to happen anymore'

Few days later, the old man was discharged from the hospital and they all returned back to the city.

Lin Yixing got to the office early because she was still pissed off with her aunt and she had to leave the house early. Her aunt had arranged a marriage with an old man who was even older than her dad before he died. She was given two options, to either marry him or to marry her ex-husband all because her uncle and aunt wanted money.

She decided to talk to her bestfriend and so she headed to her office. 'Why was everyone looking so excited?' She asked herself as she approached the door to her best friend's office.

"Hey girlfriend!!!" Jia Li greeted behind her making her turn to look at her.

"Hey why is everyone excited?" She asked

"The ceo came in today with his daughter. No-one knows if she's actually his daughter but they do share some resemblance. Some of us were able to catch a glimpse of her and according to what I heard, she's so damn cute."

They chatted for a while before she left to her office. She knocked on Fu Yanjing's door to make her presence known before walking in.

"Evie, eat your food" Fu Yanjing coaxed the little girl who was proving stubborn but she wouldn't eat and pushed the food on the spoon Fu Yanjing held close to her mouth.

Fu Yanjing sighed helplessly to look at Lin Yixing who had remembered the little girl as grandfather Fu's granddaughter. 'Was this his rumored daughter?' She asked herself. She realized that she too wasn't sure if she was his daughter or not.

"Do you have any chocolate with you?" He asked

"No but I have some candy though" she replied

"That'll do" He said and she removed it from her bag before handing it to him who opened it and gave it to the little girl who was still throwing tantrums.

She gladly accepted the candy and finally became calm. He sighed looking at the little girl who was staring back at him.

"Mr. Fu, is she your daughter?" She asked.

"Do you think she is?" He asked glancing at her.

"I don't know. A lot of people think she is and besides you both look alike" she stated.

"Well no. She's my niece" He said looking at the calm little girl who did resemble him. Their eyes were like black orbs, they had the same nose, shape of eye and the same color of hair.

"Can I carry her?" She asked. She didn't know what came over her but she really wanted to carry the little girl.

"She doesn't really allow people carry her"

"But she allowed me back at the countryside"

"She probably let you because she needed someone to lean on or you really are special. Anyways, let's find out"

Lin Yixing leaned towards the little girl and stretched her arms. After, a few moments, the little girl finally accepted and allowed her carry her.

"You are special then"
