"Come on, we should leave," Sirius said, eyeing the place outside the bar. It wasn't as if the civilians had lowered in number. It was just the time that had passed. "You've eaten my plate as well." He mocked as he looked at Regan, his blue eyes sparkling with amusement.Regan looked down, embarrassment washing over her and she hid her face on her cloak. She hadn't really noticed that."You owe me a meal now."Regan got up abruptly and didn't look at him. She walked further and he grabbed her arm, pulling her close on his chest, much to her annoyance and anger. "Come on, don't be like that, redhead. It's not like I'm killing you or anything." He winked, and she almost growled in response."Let go of me," she snapped, trying to pull away, but he held on firmly. "What do you want from me?" she asked, exasperated, "aren't you satisfied that you're kidnapping me? Why the hell do you keep grabbing my arm?"Sirius sighed, "You...." He trailed off. Regan glanced up at him and she swore she could see him kind of.... embarrassed, although only his eyes were shown from his mask. But it quickly cleared up."What?" Regan snapped."Whatever, let's go," he ignored as he pulled her arm again and led her outside. They walked for what seemed like hours, and Regan couldn't help but wonder where he was taking her. She tried to keep up with his long strides, but it was tiring her out. The cold wasn't very palpable and she wasn't shivering at least. He kept his hold on her arm and she even forgot about that.Suddenly, as they were walking, they saw a little boy, crawling on the streets. His clothes were torn and his face was dirty. Sirius looked at him and left Regan's arm for once."Hey, kiddo, you shouldn't be out here," he said, kneeling down in front of the boy. "Where are your parents?" He asked gently, but the boy only buried his face in his arms and started to sob. "Oh, come on now, don't cry." Sirius said, patting the boy's back. "I'm sure they're just around the corner, looking for you."Regan stood there, watching as Sirius comforted the boy. She felt a pang of sympathy for the boy, but also a stab of anger at Sirius. How could he be so gentle with this child when he had just kidnapped her? It didn't make sense. He was cruel and a tyrant, now he was helping a boy? She had the advantage to run away, she thought, but he looked at her, silently threatening her to not move.As he continued to pat the boy's back and whisper reassuring words, Regan couldn't help but feel a small twinge of jealousy. He seemed so... good with kids. The boy's parents suddenly arrived on the scene, their frantic faces a testament to their worry. They immediately rushed to their son, tears streaming down their faces. "Where have you been, sweetheart? Why are you covered in dirt?" the mother asked, her voice trembling."He... he was just helping me," the boy stammered, pointing at Sirius. "He said he would take care of me."The father's face turned red with anger as he glared at Sirius. "You! You had no right to touch my son!" he shouted, taking a threatening step forward. "I'll have you arrested for kidnapping!"Sirius stood up slowly, his eyes never leaving the father, "I wasn't kidnapping your son. Now, get away from here before I change my mind. You wouldn't want to know who I am." He warned, his voice stern and menacing as he took a step closer to the father. The father hesitated for a moment, fear flickering in his eyes, before he turned away, dragging his son with him, the mother following close behind. As they disappeared, Sirius turned to Regan, his expression stoic and blank. She was angry and couldn't help but be mad that someone as vicious as him had helped a child like that. He pulled her arm, and continued to walk with her. He didn't say anything and she didn't say anything either. They walked in silence, the cold air nipping at Regan's nose and cheeks. The roads were deserted. The sky was dull, but the lights were bright enough to see.He stopped at what seemed to be a tall, white building. The building had a weird structure. It was made of uneven rectangular floors. It was modern, glimmering with neon lights. The stories were covered with tall glass windows. He let go of her arm and turned to her, "Now, you're going to come here. You'll keep your mouth shut and you'll stay close to me. Don't think of trying to cause any problems. It will only make your situation worse. I'm trying to get you out of the trouble," he warned, his blue eyes piercing right to her soul. She didn't like the way he was looking at her, but she didn't want to argue with him either. She only wanted to escape. They entered the building through a set of glass doors. He watched her closely, if she'd ever try to do something stupid. But she was lost, she had no idea what she was doing or where she was. She didn't know his plans or anything else. She only wanted to escape, but knew that it wasn't the right time. They went up a glass platform and stopped at a set of white doors. Two men were guarding it, dressed in black. They didn't stop Sirius to knock on the door. It opened slowly and he grabbed Regan's hand, taking her inside as well. Regan's hands were cold, while he was wearing gloves, making the warmth spread on. She hated the fact, but her mouth remained sealed. Then, they entered a large white office room, where an old man in white suit was sitting in a comfortable blue armchair. His expression was sinister and wicked as he pierced his eyes on them both. He didn't seem very distinctive from other civilians. His hair was white and his wrinkled skin was pale. His beard was white and long, reaching down his chest. His ears were pointed. Sirius pulled Regan behind him in, completely covering her with his body."Ah, your highness," the old man spoke in a rasp voice, "I didn't expect you to bring a guest." He looked at Regan with disdain, and she shrank back further. "And who might this little creature be?" he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm."None of your concern. Now, is Agnar's case closed?" Sirius sternly asked. Regan felt chills run down her spine at the mention of Agnar but also at the way that the old man called her 'little creature'. She hated it.The old man's expression darkened, as he got up from his seat, his hands clasped behind him, "Agnar is a prince. I know you're powerful and all, but Agnar is a royal heir. The king himself was furious when he found out what you did."Sirius rolled his eyes, clearly unfazed, "I already spoke with the king and I'm not planning to waste my time with him again.""Well, the matter is....sort of....delicate," the old man in white stated, "It's not-""I don't fucking care. End this as soon as possible. If you don't, you'll end up worse. I swear it," Sirius's voice was low, but it held a dangerous threat. The old man in white narrowed his eyes at him, clearly unimpressed."It's not that easy. You can't just..." He trailed off, his eyes flickering over to Regan, "It's complicated. I'll do what I can but your own reign is at stake here, your highness. You must understand that. You better bring her back and save us all from trouble."Sirius glared at the man, clearly furious at his answer, "Don't you fucking tell me what to do, pathetic wizard," he growled as he stepped closer, "If I want, I can turn this kingdom upside down and make you all root in hell. Now, if you're smarter than that, tell your king that this damn matter is closed and no one gets to say a thing."The old man swallowed hard, clearly intimidated. However, he tried to hold his composure, "I-I understand your order. But Agnar was insisting she was his. He had claimed her before."Sirius's jaw clenched tightly and he slammed the old man against the wall, his hands on his throat. The old man let out a choked gasp of fear as his head hit the cold, hard surface."Don't you dare say that again! She's not his and he is finished off and there's no fucking thing he'll do about it. I made sure of that. Now, is that clear enough for you?" he snarled, his eyes blazing with rage. The old man, overly frightened, nodded frantically. "Y-yes, your highness. I-I understand. I'm going to make sure the king knows and I'm going to persuade him into the deal."Sirius's grip eased up, but he kept the old man pinned against the wall for a few more seconds. When he finally let go, the old man straightened his collar. Sirius turned to Regan, who was still standing a few feet behind him. She was dumbfounded and confused. He swiftly grabbed her hand again and led her outside. She was overly confused and embarrassed at the same time. He didn't say anything as they walked through the now empty streets. Her heart was racing, her palms sweaty."Who were you talking about back there?" She finally asked, her voice slightly shaky.Sirius glanced at her before looking away, "What kind of question is that? You know," he said, his voice low and cold."I don't," she retorted. She really didn't know what she knew."I don't want to talk about it," he said, not leaving her hand, "there's no point.""I have to know! What did he mean when he said Agnar's claim?"Sirius's expression hardened even more and his jaw clenched, "Let's not talk about it. You don't want to know.""I do.""Just shut up.""I want to know," Regan insisted. He halted on his steps and turned to her, his gaze intense and cold, "You know it very well," he said through gritted teeth, "But you should also know that I won't let anyone else have you expect-"Before he could continue, a loud voice interrupted them both."Here they are!" A male voice called. Regan flinched and turned to them, seeing armed men standing in the way, with one of them looking like the leader of the group. She furrowed her eyebrows and took a step back."The traitors!" The male yelled again, pointing at them both.Sirius's expression darkened and he stepped before Regan, holding her back with his arm, "What the hell do you want?" He snarled. The leader of their group wore a menacing smile, "Prince Agnar wants back his claim."The sorcerer's grip on Regan's arm hardened, the fire burning inside him, "She's not his claim," he said through gritted teeth."Oh, really?" the other man retorted, stepping closer, "When the vampire prince decides something, there's no one who can stop him, not even you, sorcerer."Regan's eyes widened in shock, her heart racing. Vampire?A cruel smile crept through Sirius's lips, "Why isn't he here, then? Because he's a coward, a loser. Because I finished him off already and because she's mine and no one will lay a finger on her."The leader laughed, "Oh, you think you're so clever. But you forget who you're talking to. We are loyal to our prince and we will not let you win this." He motioned to his men, who drew their weapons.Sirius's eyebrows furrowed, knowing he could deal with them but also knowing that Regan would take the opportunity to escape. And the least he wanted was for her to escape. "You are making a mistake. You should fuck off," he warned them, "If you want to die, then come. I'll be happy to kill you all."The leader laughed maniacally, "We'll see about that, pretty boy."Sirius cursed under his breath and unleashed a deadly blue flame on their way. The leader, who was standing in the front, raised his sword and blocked the attack. The force of the impact sent him flying back, hitting the ground hard. His men gasped and drew their weapons closer."She won't go anywhere!" Sirius yelled, his eyes ablaze with determination and fury. "She's mine!"With a swift movement, he sent a ball of fire at the men, scattering them in all directions. Two of them dropped their weapons and tried to run away, but Sirius was faster. He sent another deadly blue flame at them, hitting them in the back and sending them flying forward. They crashed against the wall, their bodies limp. The other men tried to get Regan but she hit them with her elbow and fists. Then, she struck them with her own blazing fire. Then, seeing that she couldn't stay here and that she had an opportunity to run away, she sprinted in a run, dodging the men who were coming closer.Sirius turned around to see Regan running away and he cursed. He couldn't let her leave when he knew the danger she was in. However, the other group was stubborn and they continued to attack him. He fought them off, using his powers against them. When he saw that they were all knocked down, he turned on the other alley. Her presence had faded away and he tried to summon the ember spell to track her down. However, in the middle of the spell, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. He turned and saw a dagger protruding from it. The leader of the group stood behind him, his face contorted with rage."You think this would end that fast?" the man snorted, his expression mocking.Sirius's jaw clenched and he reached out to the dagger, pulling it out of his shoulder. Blood gushed out and he winced, but he didn't let it distract him."You think you've won?" he growled. "You haven't even begun." With a swift motion, he aimed his palm at the leader and sent a ball of blue fire at him. The leader tried to dodge, but it was too late. He was engulfed in the flames, screaming in agony. The rest of the men scattered, some running away and others trying to fight Sirius. He fought them off with a fierce determination, his rage fueling his powers. As he dispatched each man, he felt a sense of relief washed over him. They were all gone now, and he could focus on finding Regan. He turned to the direction she had fled, his heart pounding in his chest. He tried to summon the ember spell again but now he had an overcharge problem. His powers were draining out of control and he couldn't focus. He cursed under his breath, frustrated and worried. He had to find her again. He couldn't let her escape from him and find herself in danger once more.
