Nuriel spread out his wings on his seat. Listening keenly to each word Angel Rehan was saying.
He had some quite unique features as well.
No one had ever been able to actually fully explain his features. Not because they could not be put into words, but because they were always changing.
At the moment, his eyes were a bright striking yellow. Same to his wings. The only consistent thing about him was his hair. A deep blonde that shone in the sun.
His wings were also currently yellow. The feathers seemed to call out to other beings, tempting them to touch. The others called them 'wings of compulsion ' .Angels were immune to the effects but poor old Rehan had had countless run-ins with the other beings in the kingdom where they would literally gang up on him with the intent to touch.
Something that he was not particularly comfortable with. So he tended to have as minimal interaction with them as possible.
"Three Dreimars , two gargoyles, six Isors. Sire, such a thing has not happened in over two centuries! " Rehan finished off.
Apparently, there seemed to be someone that was targeting his kingdom. Eleven deaths in less than three days was definitely an issue of concern.
"How are the other beings responding to this situation? "
"Some are angry...... but most are just afraid. You can feel the tension when you walk around the towns, "
The angels wings and eyes were now slowly changing. The yellow fading to be replaced by a light blue. It was a phenomenal sight to look at. Even after knowing him for over six centuries Nuriel still found himself intrigued by the sight.
"Have the bodies been examined? "
"Victor and Bastian are in the town doing just that at the moment, " Rehan said as he locked his fingers together. Nuriel signed as he stood. They were almost the same height, only that Nuriel was a few inches taller.
"I'll have to go and talk to the beings. Assure them that we are working on the matter, " he said and Rehan agreed.
He did not like that idea. He had barely been away from his Doseth for twenty minutes but he already craved her company.
" How is your Doseth fairing? " Rehan asked with clear concern.
"She's....very challenging to deal with. I'm almost certain she still thinks that she's dreaming, " he stated and Rehan smiled.
" I think it's about time you met someone who can challenge you, "
"I have all twelve of you for that. I don't need anyone else making my existence harder than it already is, " Nuriel joked.
Rehan shrugged and Nuriel realised that in the second he'd taken to blink, his wings and eyes had changed to an alluring orange.
He really was never going to get used to that. Rehan on the other hand seemed to have even forgotten about his strange nature.
Strange and completely amazing.
"Well, we can't all wait to formally meet her, " he said and Nuriel chuckled.
She hadn't reacted very well to one angel let alone twelve.
"Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you come across her on your way out. She did threaten to flee if I left her alone in my quarters, "
"You're that close already? I'm impressed. " He was teasing and Nuriel shook his head.
"Actually now that I think about it, it wouldn't be too bad if I take her along with me to the kingdom. I do have to get her some things, "
And once they got back he could explain everything to her. And it would also give him a chance to keep an eye on her.
"Okay then. I would go with you but I promised to assist Kael hunt for moon berries,"
Nuriel laughed.
"Is he still interested in those? "
"Interested? He set aside a whole cabinet in his chambers strictly for storing them. I actually believe he's addicted to those things, " Rehan said.
Moon berries were a rare fruit to come by. Only found in the most dangerous parts of the kingdom. They were known for their distinct flavor but Nuriel had never really been that interested in them. Something that couldn't be said about the Angel Kael. They seemed to be all he ate.
"Is there any other council member here at the moment? " Nuriel asked. He did need someone to go with him and look after his Doseth as he tended to the kingdoms matters.
" Everyone seemed to have something to do but I think I saw Drexel when I arrived. "
That was good. Not only was Drexel capable of protecting her but he also had great taste in fashion. Plus Nuriel was sure she would be comfortable around him.
"Well I'll take my leave now but first I'd like to greet your mate, " Rehan said as they headed out.
"As you wish. But I'm warning you, she might just put you up in flames, "
"Lucky me then. I'll be able to say that I got the queen of our race fired up, "
They laughed as they walked down the wide corridor.
